bass tap 6 string

wait so thats a high f string right? thats pretty kool i just got a sr506 this summer i really like the smothness of it and its pretty easy to get comfortable with jumping up from a 4 string. what do you think are some good songs to play on it? cuz ive mainly just been tapping and exercises on it not much else.

What gauge strings do you use?

@sourmelee On this bass I just used a standard 4 string set...40, 60 , 80, 100...and I bought 2 single high strings...a .32 and a .28 I think.

hey man, i am wanting to set my 6 string bass with that setup with the 2 higher strings, i was wondering what guage the highest string is and where i could get a set of them?

@SamuelHasBigEars Hey dude, I just used two high C stings...My actual C string I think is .32 or .35 or something around there. For the high F you can use a high C string with a thinner gauge, like .28 or .25. I just bought a standard six string set, tossed the low B and and bought a single high string. Hope that helps dude.

@BassGrindcore The standard tuning for a 6 string bass is B-E-A-D-G-C. They have an extra string on the bottom and an extra string on the top.
