  • This is a really beautiful bird!

  • Whats the song at the end?

  • hahahah i did the same when i had my red tail, i would sit on the couch, put down a blanket behind my bird, then chill and watch TV with her :D

  • Excellent video.

    Thanks for the upload.

  • thanks for posting. I really enjoyed it.

  • You did a Great job training, nice video too.

  • Hi, would a red tailed hawk be appropriate to start falconry with?

  • @dassault2512 , yes, the red tailed hawk is one of the most successful birds to use in falconry. They are actually one of the three choices of birds that you have to choose to start falconry in america. The other two birds that you can use are the american kestrel and the red shouldered hawk. Though those two birds are notoriously hard to train. Although I have had great success with red shouldered hawks, but would never recommend them to someone to start falconry with.

  • how would i find a master around my area if i wanted to become an apprentice?

  • @lovelycowgirl1 I'm in this process myself. Joining North American Falconers' Exchange forums is a good place to start - they have a sticky thread that tells you the steps for a beginner. I'd post a link but I'm afraid it'd get moderated.

  • tagged and bagged. great video

  • Amazing animal. How long is the tether you have on her legs? Wont it get tangled up if you ever needed her to go higher in the trees?

  • awesome vid i have caught 6 red but im more of a falcon guy

  • This is freakin awesome.

  • the one person who doesint like this is a justin biber fan

  • ive got a 5 year old redtail she likes to take ducks would it be possible for her to take a goose she is pretty aggressive but ive only read about it happening not seen it?

  • @kooldork668 The only way to find out is to go for it! I would try and make some type of goose lure and get her really fixed on them and then when she is ready give it a go! Good luck

  • i have that same gauntlet...But how douse it hold up with red tails? I know there very grippy when you first get them.

  • @DeadPool2995 I have two and they are still in great shape.

  • Nice bird mate, I nursed one back to health while living on a park in MS. Foot injury, loud ,feisty, loving bird. I let her go a few years back with the help of wildlife officials and I have moved to floriduh since then but the wardens still see her and email me at times. Good vid.

  • Beautiful bird, and a beautiful name. I'm sure you had a great time hawking with her.

  • Nice! I will be flying my first bird next year.

  • Good looking bird. You outta put some squirrel chaps on her it will help prevent some nasty bites.

  • I have a baby red tail hawk hardly 6 or 7 months old.......... the thing is that i dnt know how to train it. if I move my hand towards it it bites me...... It wont eat meat when i put it in front of him niether does it sit on my hand . What should I do???? plz help

  • @999osma1

You should find your local wildlife rehab center and give it to them. Possessing a bird of prey requires very strict licensing and training.

  • nice bird, what is the purpose of the leash in the beginning? and do you need to use one when training your hawk?

  • Very nice vid. How many kills did she get in her first season? well manned and very good on the squirrel. Did you keep her through the molt? or release her back?

  • She had approximately 25 squirrel kills her first season with about 8 rabbit kills. I kept her through her molt and just recently released her. Occasionally I see her while bow hunting.

  • She's beautiful and she seems very well mannered. what's her name?

  • her name is "Nala"

  • wouldnt those bells alert things hes hunting?

  • @iFaiLx When squirrel hawking 99% of the time the squirrel already knows we are there. The bells allow me to find her if she dives down way ahead of me in thick brush or tall grass. She takes a ton of squirrels and rabbits with them on, so it works out. Thanks for watcing.

  • Nice looking passage. :) Good luck to you this season!

  • This is a really cool video! I've never seen falconry training before!

  • You've got a brilliant bird there. Haha! I wish I had her!

  • very nice video. Beautiful hawk. and very well trained. ty for sharing your experience.
