Wordless Chorus...then saw them first time every at Mountain Jam this year...I feel like I have been in a time warp and missed out on something really great in its infancy to maturity...one thing is for sure...I am hooked! and will definitely add MMJ to the list of 'bands willing to travel to see live' along with Government Mule, WP, Michael Franti, and Los Lobos. Thanks for asking! It is an interesting comment thread!
The FIRST one, the SECOND one, and so on. Lay Low really grabbed me early though. This band really demonstrates that there are 2 kinds of tastes in music out there- good taste or no taste at all. I really cannot and care not to understand why someone would'nt appreciate how great these guys sound.
I got into MMJ after seeing them at Bonnaroo 2004. Been a fan ever since then. I got the Okonokos DVD and watch it atleast 2 times a month. This band is going to be around a long time i feel like.
@EliteBeave Move on Up @ Madison Square Garden, New Years eve. never really got into them, heard a few songs, decided to see them live, BAM, one song in, mind blown. No looking back.
@EliteBeave first found out about them when they came to pemberton festival in 2008. when i first looked them up on youtube i listened to off the record as it was the first song to come up at the time. initially i didnt like them. i then watched the one big holiday performance on conan obrian and was sold. they are now in my top 5 favourite bands.
@EliteBeave saw them open for Pearl Jam in 2006. i'd never heard of them at the time and based on their name, thought they might suck. Eddie Vedder came out on stage and told the crowd that this was one of his favorite bands and that we should be excited to see them play. so i was already sold because Eddie is God and i'll do whatever he tells me to do. they played One Big Holiday and i was hooked. i just saw them a couple weeks ago as the headliner and lost my mind when they played this.
@weezadam i saw them there last year and it was so sick. i don't know if you bought pavilion tickets, but i heavily recommend it over lawn -- not because merriweather is bad on the lawn, it's not.. it's great anyway. just sayin in case it rains. plus it's hard to see mmj and not want to get closer.
@EliteBeave That's easy. "One Big Holiday". I heard it on a CD sampler back in '04. That same day I went to a local record store and listened to "It Still Moves". I was instantly sold and bought it immediately...it was something like $25 at the time too (lol). Yeah...it was that good. I probably would have paid $30.
I hate YouTube why cant i sign a Double Like?¿? :)
