I love Ramin Karimloo! He is amazing! :) I just can't stop listening to him sing this because I just love his voice! His voice is just... I can't put it to words. :D Love him! He's smexy!
I'm still not sure if I'll ever let myself see this. But I really do love the music anyway... Although, this song did help me get through a very difficult time in my life.
I actually saw this in May with the orginial cast. It was fantastic. Andrew Lloyd Weber is a genus. The cast was incredible. The music touches you to down to the core. Can't wait to see it again!
I saw the first and it was FANTASTIC!!! THE BEST OPERA IN THE WHOOOOOLE WORL!! My whole class went and I was holding my friends hand the whole time. I also cried at the end =D And we got to see the cast in person and ask them questions XD To much fun.
I'm a Die-hard Phan. I have to disagree with those who don't want a sequel. We can't be delusional to think Poto was perfection, people hated it when it first came out. The book was complex to a degree and Webber agreed, given the chance he wishes he could have developed the characters more. It's a tragic story, Christine loves Erik but he represents everything society would deem wrong in her time, so she goes with Raoul. It's superficial, I hate to say. Give the new one a chance! I love it.
There's a book called Phantom of Manhattan, I believe that is the basis for the sequel. Describes how the Phantom is now in NY, and builds a grand opera house and lures Christine to star in his masterpiece. She has a son by the phantom and father and son are reunited at the end.
@redmoonic90 Yes, in the book, Phantom of Manhattan, the Phantom goes to New York, builds this impressive opera house and signs Christine to star in a play he had written. Although she is married to Roul and they have a son, it is revealed that he is impotent and the son is actually the Phantoms.

Actually Christine has a son instead of a daughter and the son has a musical talent similar to the phantom's. The play is set in coney island ten years after the first POTO. And the conflict is between Meg and Christine, and Raoul and The Phantom as they battle for one another's affections
i feeel like this song is AMAZING but i heard the whole plotline and im not sure if im gonna like it, but i also didnt think id like the original Phantom of the Opera so lets see
I think it will be very hard for this play to do what the original did, and I know it won't. I still, however, would like to see it. I think that what makes Phantom so dramatic and mysterious is not knowing what ill become of him at the end, and adding on to the story will be very hard. Webber will no doubt do a great job on the music, and I can't wait to hear more.
His face is deformed. But not in this video. In the play he still wears a mask and is deformed. This was just a little video they gave to thr public. They didnt go through the trouble of doing up his face. The purpose was to let the audience get a feel of the musical.
I believe that if you look on the Love Never Dies website it says there that Andrew Lloyd Webber is going to bring it to New York on November 11th 2010. That's all I know.
the whole plot is online, it's upsetting and I prefer the first version...but it's still phantom...so it's still precious and unique in its own way...this song is breathtaking...
This sequel is an abomination. Not only does it deny the Phantom his redemption that he gains in the final scene of the original, therefore making him an unscrupulous psychopathic serial killer with no remorse, but it also TURNS THE PHANTOM INTO A RAPIST. Christine sings this to the Phantom at the end of Act 1 of LOVE NEVER DIES:
I am very happy it will be continued, but i fear for the plot and how it will go over with the public. I mean this song is beautiful, but i am confused on what it will be about...i mean will he find another woman? wil he go and search for christine? I am very anxious to learn!
@QuietKid777 no no no he's loved her for ten years tricks her to come to coney island so he can have a second shot at her, and then discovers that her son is actually his and not raoul's.
@QuietKid777 lol christine doesnt have a daughter... if you watch the video with andrew webber he clearly states that Raul and Christine have a son named Gustave after Christine's father
@QuietKid777 actually no it is christine 10 years later she takes a singing job at coney's island in america that the phantom set up for her to get and the meaning of the story is that he tries to prove that even 10 years later his love for her never dies and she doesnt have a daughter she only has a son named Gustave
I loved the original POTO and I think this will be pretty good too. And for all those people posting negative comments about a show they haven't even seen the solution is simple - don't go and see it and leave the rest of us to enjoy it.
he has a lovely voice but this song does not touch me att all i mean wat happened u kno the first PHANTOM OF THE OPERA had amazing music that just touched ur soul there is no need to make a sequel it makes no scene at all and really pisses me off lol
Sure, hardly anything can compare to the beauty of the original POTO, but it's really sad to see so many people put a harsh criticism on this musical before it even opened.
I adored Sierra in Little Mermaid and she will be fantastic in this. I hope I get to see her and Ramin Karimloo perform on Broadway. I saw Hugh Panaro as the Phantom and I was blown away by him, but Ramin is definitely something.

Words can't express how much I loved the original musical! And knowing how beautiful it is and finding that theres going to be a sequal that's going to ruin it, just makes me really sad to be honest:(
This guy has a good voice and a sequel would be interesting... but I honestly think there shouldn't be one....I love the Phantom of the Opera just as it is.
I hope it flops. No seriously, from what I've heard, the plot is so weak. I feel like Webber is too caught up with his alter ego, which would be the Phantom.
Oh wow the lyrics can't compare to the orginal songs which actually TOLD a lot of the story of the orginal muiscal..most of the orginal POTO is sung hopefuly this sequel will do the same but this doesn't look good so far...anyway the words to this song make me less depressed about the words for the songs in my musicals that I write...
NO PLEASE DNT MAKE A SEQUEL!!!!!!!!!!!!! the phantom of the opera is the most beautiful love story ever its one that shuldnt ever be touched just like titanic i cnt belive a sequel is coming this makes me so sad and mad
It's his musical franchise, he can do what he damn well pleases with it. Cry all you want, if he wants to do it, he will, and nothing, especially not your half hearted, retarded comment on a youtube video.
@BloodPriest Looks to like YOUR comment is the "retarded" one. Lloyd Webber is not the creator of the Phantom story, and just because he can do something, doesn't mean he should. People have a right to express their opinion, otherwise what is the point of the comments feature?
i wasnt asking for back up i just stated that more ppl argreed with me i never said IF U AGREE WITH ME CAST A VOTE u really shuld read everything i wrote b4 u go judgeing stupid
Regardless, my opinion is obviously more valid than yours, simply due to the apparent lack of intelligence as displayed by your spelling and grammar mistakes.
im not guna admit that i have a terrible opinion because its my opinion and i truly think that THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA shuld NEVER be touched but whatever im done with you, you obviously have nothing better to do
@cunnidvd i kno rite i hear that its really good but i doubt it is sorry but the phantom of the opera is perfect it shuldnt ever be touched idk what made him do this
@taishamerichinchara They lyrics are bad because everyone is listening to it and interpreting it wrong. He asked Christine to come sing and she agreed without knowing it was him. He's saying that hearing her sing again just one more time will make him complete. It's giving him another chance.
It's not so much the words but for any serious musical fan its the mind blowing amazingness of the power of the music - its ability to pull you out of ure life and place you into anther world!
This doesn't place me into another world at all, well, except maybe hell.
And I'm sorry, but "serious" musical fans understand that musicals are story-driven (as Lloyd Webber himself always says) and that words are just as much important as music.. Otherwise why not just release an instrumental CD and be done with it?!
Not deaf but I do question your hearing. Did the line "the moments creep/yet I can't bear to sleep" not make you cringe? Or indeed every rubbish lyric in this?
I wish you people would stop spazzing out over this, it's not really butchering the phantom of the opera. its a "what if" scenero story. if you don't want to see it, then ignore it, its for the people who didn't prefer the ending. sheesh. who cares if its a sequal, the music is beautiful. and this video confirms it.
Hal Prince who directed the original said that although the audience should end up almost wanting or even plain wanting the Christine to end up with the Phantom at the end, it's important they this never actually happens because it's not believable. No woman would choose to live with a stalker and serial killer who lives underground. Frankly anyone who seriously thinks that deserves to be put in the same situation IMHO! And the music here is not at all appropriate. And the lyrics stink.
Terrible deception! There´s nothing new under the sun! TILL I HEAR YOU SING is exactly as if you say: WISHING YOU WERE SOMEHOW HERE AGAIN. Poor phantom, poor phantom... WHY A SEQUEL??????????
I'm willing to live with thew fact that there is going to be a sequel. The story sounds interesting, yet still mysterious at the same time, I don't think it's right to shoot something down so quickly before you even see it.
Has your mother ever told you he saying "if you can't say anything nice, don't say it at all? Everyone has their own opinion, I respect yours, and I expect others to do the said with mine.
The phantom needs to be OLDER for the sequel ! Please pray that the NYC phantom for the new production of LND will be Howard Mcgillin !!! The music is good here, but lyrics are so-so and not as vague, intelligent and beautiful as original. PS If Michael Crawford could do the NYC opening of course, he is my FIRST choice!!!!!!! Howard a second !
Is there a reason why everyone who has something good to say about this got a thumbs down and everyone who said something bad got a thumbs up?
Okay, to make a sequal is walking a fine line, but this looks like it's going to be amazing.
If someone wants to give it a chance and like it, then let them. It's not your decision to make of who likes what. If you don't like it, shake your head and leave it alone.
I'm looking forward to the show and the soundtrack. Personally, I can't wait.
Let me say this up front: I do NOT like the fact that Mr. Webber is making a sequel, I dont beleive he had the right, the Phantom is not his story and was meant to remain a mystery, but...
The music is fantastic. The singer was phenomonal. Andrew Lloyd Webber is one of the best composers alive.
If that is just a small taste of what the sequel is going to be like, then by all that is beautiful it will be amazing to watch. Lloyd Webber has done it again
His face is very not-disfigured for being the phantom

Oh wah.
It's his musical franchise, he can do what he damn well pleases with it. Cry all you want, if he wants to do it, he will, and nothing, especially not your half hearted, retarded comment on a youtube video.
BloodPreist 2 years ago
@BloodPriest Looks to like YOUR comment is the "retarded" one. Lloyd Webber is not the creator of the Phantom story, and just because he can do something, doesn't mean he should. People have a right to express their opinion, otherwise what is the point of the comments feature?
hearmyfury 2 years ago 8
@BloodPreist ur fuckin stupid seriously im voicing my opinion and i can assure that more ppl agree with me than with ur comment

This isn't a popularity contest, sandee.
BloodPreist 2 years ago
i aint saying it is im just saying that i bet more ppl argreed with me than wat the other dipshit said i never was making it into a contest
sandee12341 2 years ago
@sandee12341
Well asking the general public to cast votes for or against your opinion sounds an awful lot like a popularity contest to me.
BloodPreist 2 years ago
You were rude to sandee12341, she got back up, you lost. Deal with it.
demeuredulac 2 years ago 6
i wasnt asking for back up i just stated that more ppl argreed with me i never said IF U AGREE WITH ME CAST A VOTE u really shuld read everything i wrote b4 u go judgeing stupid
sandee12341 2 years ago
@sandee12341
Regardless, my opinion is obviously more valid than yours, simply due to the apparent lack of intelligence as displayed by your spelling and grammar mistakes.
BloodPreist 2 years ago
u kno wat watever obviously have nothin better yo do than to be here acting stupid so watever
sandee12341 2 years ago
Well that shows how stupid you are, then, since you obviously can't spell the word "Priest".

That IS how you spell Preist, dipwad.
We're getting off topic. The real focus of this debate was whether or not sandee was asking for a popularity contest, which she was.
BloodPreist 2 years ago
No it's not. :) I'm done defending sandee anyway, if you want to kill her, do so, but you're still an idiot.

You should really just admit that you have a terrible opinion, I think that's obvious.
BloodPreist 2 years ago
im not guna admit that i have a terrible opinion because its my opinion and i truly think that THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA shuld NEVER be touched but whatever im done with you, you obviously have nothing better to do
sandee12341 2 years ago 2
@BloodPreist, you should just stop posting on YouTube and go to school so you learn how to spell "Priest" before criticizing others' spelling. :)
demeuredulac 2 years ago 12
@sandee12341 totally agree. I can't believe that Sir Andrew would even consider it.

@cunnidvd i kno rite i hear that its really good but i doubt it is sorry but the phantom of the opera is perfect it shuldnt ever be touched idk what made him do this

LOVE THIS SONG!
but not a fan of the lyrics....doesnt have the same beautiful lyrics like in POTO
JackInTheBox1616 2 years ago 6
I'm not completely against a sequel, but these lyrics are pretty bad. I think that they were made to be more modern than the original.
taishamerichinchara 2 years ago 7
@taishamerichinchara They lyrics are bad because everyone is listening to it and interpreting it wrong. He asked Christine to come sing and she agreed without knowing it was him. He's saying that hearing her sing again just one more time will make him complete. It's giving him another chance.

It's not so much the words but for any serious musical fan its the mind blowing amazingness of the power of the music - its ability to pull you out of ure life and place you into anther world!
Percairwen 2 years ago
This doesn't place me into another world at all, well, except maybe hell.
And I'm sorry, but "serious" musical fans understand that musicals are story-driven (as Lloyd Webber himself always says) and that words are just as much important as music.. Otherwise why not just release an instrumental CD and be done with it?!

People are you all deaf??
This is a GREAT song. I'm just dying to go see this musical.
Isilmegazette 2 years ago
Not deaf but I do question your hearing. Did the line "the moments creep/yet I can't bear to sleep" not make you cringe? Or indeed every rubbish lyric in this?

I wish you people would stop spazzing out over this, it's not really butchering the phantom of the opera. its a "what if" scenero story. if you don't want to see it, then ignore it, its for the people who didn't prefer the ending. sheesh. who cares if its a sequal, the music is beautiful. and this video confirms it.
desness666 2 years ago
Hal Prince who directed the original said that although the audience should end up almost wanting or even plain wanting the Christine to end up with the Phantom at the end, it's important they this never actually happens because it's not believable. No woman would choose to live with a stalker and serial killer who lives underground. Frankly anyone who seriously thinks that deserves to be put in the same situation IMHO! And the music here is not at all appropriate. And the lyrics stink.
hearmyfury 2 years ago 7
Terrible deception! There´s nothing new under the sun! TILL I HEAR YOU SING is exactly as if you say: WISHING YOU WERE SOMEHOW HERE AGAIN. Poor phantom, poor phantom... WHY A SEQUEL??????????

Oh wow. I had extremely strong reservations about this whole production, until I heard that song.
ALW, how could I doubt you? Forgive me and my foolish ways.
This was beautiful, and passionate. If this is an accurate glimpse at the rest of the production, I will be happy.

I'm willing to live with thew fact that there is going to be a sequel. The story sounds interesting, yet still mysterious at the same time, I don't think it's right to shoot something down so quickly before you even see it.
theAlchemistfox 2 years ago
I don't think it's right to shoot down the power of the original with something that screams fanfiction, and bad fanfiction at that.

I in no way agree with this sequel! I mean Phantom was perfectly fine the way it ended...bitter sweet almost...I don't care for it so much
jazzymcjazzster 2 years ago 6
Completely agree!
hearmyfury 2 years ago 5
The phantom needs to be OLDER for the sequel ! Please pray that the NYC phantom for the new production of LND will be Howard Mcgillin !!! The music is good here, but lyrics are so-so and not as vague, intelligent and beautiful as original. PS If Michael Crawford could do the NYC opening of course, he is my FIRST choice!!!!!!! Howard a second !
conserve1energy 2 years ago
You don't want Michael Crawford or Howard McGillin to appear in this really. It's best that neither of them are tainted by this rubbish.

ElphieLady 2 years ago
Let me say this up front: I do NOT like the fact that Mr. Webber is making a sequel, I dont beleive he had the right, the Phantom is not his story and was meant to remain a mystery, but...
The music is fantastic. The singer was phenomonal. Andrew Lloyd Webber is one of the best composers alive.
furba4eva 2 years ago 6
If that is just a small taste of what the sequel is going to be like, then by all that is beautiful it will be amazing to watch. Lloyd Webber has done it again
MarkyVanHelsing 2 years ago
Indeed it looks like he's created a trainwreck possibly even more disastrous than the 2004 movie. He's definitely done it again!
