@marcelommm3 WOW right on! cant Wait to see it fly. mine came in heavy, this is my first build besides one scratch built. total weight is 170g, but later i plan on striping it and replanting some different electronics. i think ill Wait for the results on your maiden flight and review and go from their, because i don't think that it is possible to get this plane below 134g, thats just beyond my expectations. right on let me know when you fly and how it went. THANKS marcel
Last night i really finished all modifications on this plane and have a bad notice: need to paste some parts and the final weight up to 138/139 grams. But there are a lot of changes you can do to reduce the final weight: light eletronics are essentials, and use less glue during assembly.
Soon I will make a new video... I have good expectations about this flight!
WOW...! That would be amazing to get this plane as low as 150g, unfortunately i already bought orange R410 2.4 ghz Rx from hobbking but it does only weight 2.4g so thats not bad and then because I'm limited on funds right now so I'm going to go ahead and run the 2403 motor that comes with it an i think that i will use the xp12amp ver2 esc with wires and all, it only weights 3.9g and i will also use 3 hxt500 servos. with all the motor servos Rx and esc besides the airframe (continued below)
oops sorry about that......!!!!!!!! nice flying, i like this video i just bought the galaxy also and i am awating its arivial. now that i have seen this video i know that even if my weight comes up to 180grames that it still will fly nice and floaty like a feather so i think that will be my goal weight to keep it under.OH one...? i was wondering why you did not use the stock motor that comes with this package thanks and happy flying.
@brian31gaston The engine that came with the kit did not work right with my ESC. Kept crashing, beeping and not working, beyond too heated. It may be that the ESC is not compatible. But I am providing a few changes: - Change the 2730 for 2204-14T and 6A ESC - new receiver frsky 4 channels( 2 g) - Lighter bateries (2s 350mah 12/13g) I welds motor on ESC board, got the final weight 21/22g (On video, you saw 2730 and 12A ESC, weights 38 grams. I hope to fly below 150 grams
and a battery my total weight should be 38.9g. do you have any recommendation's for a light 2cell battery any where from 300 to 400 mah.OH! and do you know what just the air frame alone weights. thanks in advance.
Yes, I like single cells solded on Hobby King. I bought 350 mah cells weighing less than 9 grams each. So, my DIY 2s 350 mah lipo will weight 18g, JST plug!
In this movie, i flew with 2s 460 nanotech (30g)
Another choice is 250 mah cells (less than 6g each cell) and built 12g lipo.
Lighter servos is a good option too. I like Turnigy 1440A for rudder and elevator. On ailerons, HXT500 is good! I'm anxious to see your Galaxy flying!
Nice flying and helpful comments. However, can you please elaborate on the ailerons servo? Isn't the 1440A strong enough so you had to go for an HXT500?
Hi, friend. Tks for you comment. About the Tgy 1440A servo, I used some in other 3D indoor plane and they didnt hold on ailerons. For elevator and rudder I think its a good choice because is lighter than HXT500.
hey marcel......! what is the weight of just the galaxy's airframe alone?

@brian31gaston
I dont remember, but think 65-75 grams!
Your plane is ready to fly?

@brian31gaston
Brian, i made some modifications on eletronics and reduces the RTF weight to 134 grams!
I dont do flights after this monster reducer, maybe do it in this week...
See you!

For ailerons, best use the HXT500 to be stronger!
