I had this problem too.

i don't know it anyone has answered yet but to get them, you don't just drag it into itunes. you have to open up the ringtones section first and then drag the file into the playlist area. should work

hey! before you change to AAC version, make sure you transfer all songs that you ve purchased onto the macbook library, then right click and the AAC option comes upp and follow the rest of the steps as this vid.. i tried doing it straight from the iphone music folder and the AAc option is unavailable. Hope this helps.

Hi, i've tried the other methods, only your video worked for me. However, out of the 2 ringtones i created, only 1 was reflected in the phone, though itunes, it showed both ringtones in the Ringtone folder. Great vid. Its pretty much the same steps when you do it for windows. The only problem i encountered was that when i right-clicked the song it didnt show the "Create AAC Version" option. I had to go under my preference tab on itunes, under the general tab click on Import Settings. Once i did that i changed Import Using: MP3 encoder to AAC Encoder and the "Create AAC Version" option appeared on my right click. Thanks to Latiaadele for posting these steps!

i just tried it out on my windows 7 and it works but its just one more step to change the file extension to .m4r

just do the regular steps and change to the aac and w.e.

when your done with the aac steps right click the shorten version of the song and click "show in windows explorer "

when you have the file showing right click it and choose "properties"

there you can change it to m4r and then just open the file and itll be on itunes as a ringtone.
