don't underestimate the value of experience. He's probably gone through some decades of trial and error, I would bet there are much worse coaches than him.
we dont even have a coach at my school. =/. we have to try to teach ourselves by trying to learn from videos. and i was joking about his age, he is very knowledgeable.
iv'e been vaulting for six weeks and i just pr'd at 9'6 yesterday. I wish I had started in middle school but there's no middle school program in my city. I am a fresman now.
I started polevaulting this year at my high school. Im a junior and i'm getting 11'. It doesnt hurt at all when you land on your back, as a matter of fact its actually pretty fun. You get use to it, and the first time you invert and snake over the bar its probably the best feeling ever
always fall on your feet? rightttt im a freshman and i was trying to get to 10 feet and i was holding too high, i jumped and fell back right on my back and banged my head on the track. it kinda hurt, alot
Last year i was in the seveth grade too and i got 7.6ft i dont think i ever fell, there's been a couple of times i haven't made it all the way into the pit but it doesn't hurt. Dont be scared.
SO helpful. I don't have a coach so I learn from videos and these are great help!

silver flute i was in seventh grade last year and only fell back once,it did not hurt that bad.

I'm trying out for pole vault and I'm in the seventh grade. I'm afraid of falling backwards when I'm in the air!!
xxSilverFlutexx 4 years ago
your coach wont let you fall back because the only way you will fall back is if you hold too high and you will land on your feet anyways
