they should put the original trilogy back in theaters just to get the younger generation to watch it :) idc i would go see it in theaters. i've only seen it on my tv i wish i was there too see them in theaters
man, i got the box set as a kid too.. i remember these ads. never in my wildest dreams could i have imagined the words "this will be your last chance to own the ORIGINAL VERSION of star wars" meant anything but them just not releasing the trilogy again. never in my most horrible nightmares could i have known those words really meant "GEORGE LUCAS, RIGHT NOW, IS FUCKING CREAMING HIS JEANS WITH ALL THE NEAT CGI EFFECTS HE CAN THROW INTO THESE CLASSICS SO HE CAN FUCK THEM UP PERFECTLY"
Has anyone found another promo that came out around this time, it featured a split screen comparison before and after the THX mastering.
I also am interested in seeing the tv commercial for the 2006 individual dvd release. A guy was just talking about the movies from his house plus the quick montage of the original version clips.
Actually I believe the "One Last Time" quote has something to do with the original theatrical cuts themselves. Or else not only would I have doubt that there would've been a VHS set like this released, but the original versions would've been released on DVD and maybe remastered in high-def and 5.1 surround when they first came to DVD nearly 3 years ago.
Uh pardon for for a sentence correction, but what I meant about what I told you about the "One Last Time" line, was that if not for this VHS release, I figured that the individual DVD releases of the films with the original versions would've been remastered in high-def and 5.1 surround which they did not but SHOULD have gotten back then. But that's just my opinion of course.
Jesus! This trailer was the first time I ever saw Star Wars! I got it for my birthday, it came with the Empire Strikes Back VHS... One year later the Star Wars Trilogy Special Edition was announced, and I became a fan!!
Thank you so much. I have been looking for this for ever! I have the original unaltered Star Wars trilogy on VHS. Does anyone know how I can get this unaltered version on DVD?
@TAG037 The individual movies in 2006 and the slim boxset from 2008 have both the 2004 transfer and the original theatrical version. They used the exact same 1993 THX video master that the "One Last Time" release featured. The dvd's are still much clearer than any vhs or laserdisc capture.
Unfortunately, all those dvd's are out of print due to the upcoming blu-ray which will NOT HAVE THE ORIGINAL VERSIONS.
For those who remember, for those who will never forget, and for a whole new generation who will experience it for the very first time... The Star Wars Trilogy!!!!!
I Own The Orignal (NOT THE SE) Widescreen Versions Of Empire and New Hope on VHS I'm Still Looking for the Original Widescreen Version of Return Of The Jedi

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Have u lied? Have u stolen? Jesus said if you look at a woman with lust you have committed adultery with her in your heart. have u done that?
If God judge’s u by the Ten Commandments will u be innocent or guilty? Heaven or Hell? Does this concern you?
Do u need a Savior from your sins?

This video epitomizes Star Wars to me. No special editions, no prequels, just the originals.

It's unbelievable how much voice work Jim Cummings does! (I believe he's the one narrating this commercial)

"This will be your last chance to own the original version of Star Wars."
*Realizes that the original films still haven't gotten a good DVD release.*
