  • great video, ive just created my own channel, come take a look and plz subscribe! thanx xox

  • it's not good for you to wash your hair every day

  • you are SO someone without a chi! who cares about chi straightners!?! go you for not really caring!! also just thought i'd add, they are not the best straightners! ghd straightners are & they are $300 in australia!!

  • Actually I so agree with you...I have a total horror story about the CHI I bought a little over a year ago but I haven't had time to post it yet.

  • Just wanted to add to the every day vs. every other day wash...

the answer is the same that you give for how to style...It all depends on your hair type and texture too.

Also your selection of shampoo will make a much bigger difference than most people realize, not the brand as much as the ingredients....just a little added 411

  • But GHDs Break Really Easily Because They Heat Up So Much!

Just Thought I'd Let you Know ;D

    PS.Love Yur Vidsz!

  • Actually, CHI irons heat up all the way to 430 F while GHD's only heat up to 370-380 F. CHI irons have a 37 percent fail rate on their irons meaning that out of every 100 sold, 37 fail within the first year. GHD's have a 2 percent fail rate. In addition, they have a smart technology processor inside of their irons that constantly regulates the temperature of the plates to stay in the 370-380 range. CHI irons, begin at 430 at the hair shaft and end at much lower heat at the tips.

  • Just a bit of info I got from the GHD educator while working at Cosmoprof.

  • i wash my hair everyday too but i have a question is it bad to straighten my hair everyday

  • to me it is bad to straighten your hair everyday because when u constantly put heat on your hair your just causing more and more damage as in splitends, and u can have alot of breakage.

  • thx although i dont know why u straighten my hair its already straight

  • Yes because will eventually become greasy looking and the heat exposure can actually damage it!! Try to straighten every other day or maybe three times a week, while alternating those three days!!

    Hope this Helped!!:)

  • Of course straightening your hair is damaging. You can minimize that damage by using quality ceramic irons and thermal protectors. If you have fine hair...waiting to wash for more than one day can make you look like a homeless greaseball. Not everyone has thick hair....

  • Wat is the best straightner to buy that wont burn hair? Yo said cheese or something straightner. Where can buy it ? KC

  • GHD or CHI straighteners are both really good, however CHI brand is known for breaking too soon. You can get GHDs or CHIs from salons or professional hair stylists. Sometimes at supply stores that also sell to the general public.

  • sorry, i meant you dont really need a CHI straightener if you dont want your hair pin straight.

  • you really dont need a straightener if you dont want your hair pin straight,

like you said you want a wave. and i f your barealy gonna use the straightener theres no point of spending the money.

i have a chi and i use it to get my curly hair pin straight.

    its a really good video.

    your goorgeous (:

  • I bought the CHI and I love it even though a lot of people I know prefer the GHD..because it is more durably made...but does the same thing. I use my CHI to do anything I want with my hair, whether it be curly or straight...well except for fro curls.

  • y arent u doing any more vids lately

  • You know, women come in all shapes and sizes and being super skinny doesn't necessarily make you "hot" to every one. I don't really have to worry about it though because I've got a man and he likes my "puppy fat" so thanks anyway.

  • That guy must be lucky... your gorgeous!!

and I love your eyes! lol

  • how much is the remington straightner

  • How long have you had your straightener?

  • you are THE best, thank you for the video !!

  • i have that same straightner and i love it it works the best of any ive tryed

  • well, lucky for me i have naturally wavy hair. so, haha!!lol

  • your video is very helpful... thanks :)

  • You look so beautiful

  • hi,Samantha i really like your videos they're awesome!and i have the same hair straightener as you it work's pretty well but i don't think it's good on wet hair i think it damage's it...

  • I can never get my bangs done. Always comes out wavy and it becomes a pain in the places where it sun doesnt shine(get my drift?).I have no clue what to do about it. PS, your videos rock!

  • I agree with donniewhy. I dunno - are some people blind - or just plain ignorant? I liked your video and I think you're pretty! :-)

    to iajmmm06:

you cant give opinions if your comments suck

    oh and stop commenting

    your annoying

    and you suck

sound familiar? not very nice is it?

Keep up with the videos Beauty! :-)

  • u look like a very sweet girl -- ur eyes sparkle honesty and innocence -- do not worry about stupid comments from mentally sick people -- u have a charming smile!!

  • =) That's the best compliment I've ever received. Compliments pertaining to one's heart and personality are far superior to compliments about looks. Thank you very much. =D

  • I know...lol.

  • Okay so I don't have that starightner everyone is talking about but I have this one from Wal-Mart and it was only like $15 dollars but it works really good!It only takes like 30 seconds to heat up!

Oh and about heat damaging your hair buy some cream that helps heat damage.I'm not quite sure what it's called but I have some and I put it in my hair when it damp because that's what Seventen said but anyhoo...

  • I smell a troll.

  • i use to use ceramic hair straightner but it will mess up my hair pretty bad.... :(

And then i startes to use wet straight straightner and it worked way better it only cost $30 and it takes lees than a minute to heat !!!!! i recommend this to every girl...

they sale them at the CVS Pharmacy stores!!!!

P.S dont straighten your hair when wet it will damage it GOOD LUCK!!! :)

  • Blow drying ruins your hair. It's the worst thing to do.

  • i hav GHDs and they are pathetic. im relly disappointed with them because they got such a good name and i paid loads 4 them. They take 4eva 2 heat up and after usin them, my hair doesnt stay straight for long. it also makes it dry and frizzy.

they are pink so i was wonderin if the black ones are better. Deos anyone know?

    thanks

  • My CHI takes 30 seconds to heat up.

  • I agree CHI is the best straightener. I live in Canada so buying a CHI is even more expensive than in the U.S. i payed $180 for mine. It sounds like a lot, but it is totally worth it! I love my CHI, but i also have thicker hair that is wavy/curly/frizzy, so having a good straightener is more necessary for me!

  • what kind of spar is it ?

    is it "eau coiffante "

  • oh nooo no nooo chi is definitly not the best straightener out there. T3 or GHD are a billion times better. I suppose technically a good straightener will give you basically the same results as a really good straightener, but the T3 or GHD last so much longer than the Chi's. I used to think that straighteners had a "life span" meaning that they all eventually would need to be replaced but i've had my T3 for about 2 years now. its more expensive to start but doesn't need to be replaced.

  • Heyy. I have that kind of hair straightner!

How do you curl your hair with it?

I have a short hair, sooo...

    =[

  • Your are soo pretty

    and i love your hair

  • This conversation ends here, any more comments on fatasses from the girl who has no videos up of herself will be deleted...got me. =) Time to play nice now.

  • to 7930783:shut up you fag shes not fat!

  • hi,i live in scotland, and my hair tends to frizz up with the cold weather after i straighten it!is there product or anything to prevent this?

    xxx

  • I have no idea what is available in Scotland! =(

  • If you go to google and search for "Anti-Frizz Solutions By: Ion" (quotes and all), the first site that comes up should be Sally Beauty Supply. That's what I use to keep my hair-frizz down. You just spray it on before you straighten (it's a head protector) and it works wonders.

But of course, I don't know if it's available in Scotland :/

  • I think that Sally's is just in the US

  • But I'm sure they have other beauty supply stores in Scotland. I just said Sally's because that's the one that comes up first and it's the only one I looked at to see if it was the correct product :)

  • Truee!

When my hair was really really healthy, it seemed to stay the way it was and not the way I styled but now, my hair is a little damaged and it actually goes the way I want it to. lol

  • you shouldn't wash your hair everyday

  • True. Excessive washing leads to oil over-production in your scalp. However, I need those oils because I have generally very dry skin. So it really depends on what works for you.

  • yeah chi straighteners are great so is their silk infusion stuff, your supposed to put it in your hair when its damp and let it dry and it helps prevent heat damage to your hair its amazing stuff i couldnt live without it.

  • ive never heard of chi straightners that might be because i like in england and the best straightneners over here are GHD's and there great,..... i loved your video x

  • i have a blue chi . its FABULOUS!!great vid

  • this vid is a long time ago recorded. you lost a lot of weight!

  • I heard that you can get your hair permanetly straightned at a salon, but it cost a lot of money. Should I do that or just stick to straightning my hair? I love your videos, btw.

  • I don't know about permanently.

  • I asked about that at my salon and i was told it can damage your hair very badly

  • at what age did u start wearing like eyeshadow?

  • I didn't start wearing shadow until recently.

  • does using a straighter iron help make your hair silky? i have really thick hair and it's layered, so it goes curly. It's always getting dry and rough after my hair dries off.

  • It depends on your straightener. I use a Tourmaline series straightener from Jilbere de Paris and it makes my hair AMAZINGLY silky.

ALSO, Clairol Professional makes this stuff called "Jazzing" in many colors, but also in clear. The clear stuff is a gloss, that makes your hair feel like silk!

  • That's why it's a tutorial. It would be pointless to show you something and not explain why I do it.

  • hey. thanks so much for the videos! i have a wet 2 straight to... what level/heat do you put your on?i never know what to put mine on. also, do you have any suggestions for things to put onto my hair to keep it from frying? because i straighten my hair a lot and i really want to be careful it doesnt fry. =] thanks a lot!!

  • nanotech digital straighteners by far the best. better than chi's by a loooong shot!

  • i think GHD'S r the best straightners i have pink ones! there 150 pound x

  • alot of people think chi straightner is the best just as i did. but i recently got a herstyler. it is 150 itself but if you get it in the kit which comes with a curling iron, straightener, hair dryer, and a hair serum. i personally think it is so much better than a chi [ i have tested both, and it is better it takes less time ] it is great!

  • Huzzah. I have that straightener. :]

  • i don't think that the chi straighteners the best straightener because i have a ceramix dannyco straightener and my friend have the chi and i used hers on my hair and it didn't work half so good as mine

  • yea. chis aren't that good. i used my friends and it just like made my hair weird. =[

  • i love ur vids!!!!

  • you're really pretty :]

  • love ur eyes their so dazzling

  • omg i love ur videos ! (:

  • I have been straightening my hair for a week or two, and have a SLIGHT PROBLEM: when I do the hair around my ears(mostly on the side with less hair-i have a side part) it gets straight, but then it falls around my ears, and my ears stick out...its not like I have big ears or anything, but when my hair is straight around them they stick out! any tips? suggestions??? anyone PLEASE!!!

  • Are you blow drying?

  • before? no, i let it air dry... actually i shower at night, let it air dry, sleep on it, and wake up and straighten it...

  • You know when I wash my hair before I sleep and do it in the morning, I have the same exact problem. When you blow dry from wet to bone-dry, your hair gets a lot more volume because you're not allowing it to fall into it's same old path, try blow drying in the morning before you fix your hair and see how that works for you. If it doesn't...a little "Big Sexy Hair" volumizing gel does wonders.

  • Try straightening your hair and bumping it at your ears and give it more volume on top, Or you could pin it from your forehead, TwilightEC. xx

  • Thanks! I'll try that!

  • Also, when you straighten, pull your hair UP and OUT instead of down.

If you have your stylist straighten your hair, make sure you REALLY watch, and that's what they'll do. Same thing with blow drying.

  • i have a question.i have the same hair type as you but i was wondering what does the "get it pressed" thing do?is it a heat protection spray?

  • Yes, and it also helps straighten your hair with less frizz.

  • I just got a Chi for Christmas...LOVE IT.

  • its a tutorial.duh, shes gonna talk.

  • Ahhh!

I have the EXACT same hair straightener!

And my hair is exactly like yours! It's like thin and not pin straight but not curlyy. Jeez that's soo weirdd.

  • You have to be careful, with cheaper straighteners because most of the time when they say ceramic it's not 100% ceramic but just ceramic plated. I'm not sure about this one, but plated irons will start to chip and peel after useage and then you be left with metal plates. Just a FYI :)

  • omg i have dat straightener and i dont like to do my hair wet to straight i blow drie it first and it looks hot!! lol and i love ur eyebrows my hair is relly damaged i straighten it everyday and nite on 30..oooo dats not good is it?

  • omg i love ur eyebrows =]

  • Yep, they're really pretty

    SHE is really pretty also.

  • OMG I HAVE THE EXACT SAME STRAIGHTENER!! lol coooool

i tried straightening my hair when it was wet. eww.. it turned out looking like hay and i will never do it again. Then my stylist yelled at me when I told her, she said u shouldnt do it unless ur a pro and know what ur doing, even with a "wet2straight" iron.

  • i have that streghtner it does work good but i hear it damages your hair.

  • i have that same exact straightener and i've had it for almost a year. mine cost like $40 at wal-mart or something. i very rarely have used it on wet hair because it takes a very long time for me and i have thinner hair usually about a half hour to 45 minutes. i also use the tresemme straightening gel on wet hair and on dry hair before i straighten it. i have to get my hair cut about 1 a month just to prevent split ends.

  • I have that straightener. I bought it especially for the Wet2Straight feature, and it works beautifully.

I've been using it for a few months, now, and I've noticed that my hair is actually less damaged then when I used to straighten in dry. So there's my two cents.

  • I absolutely agree with you!! i have a Wet2Straight as well and it works wonders for my hair!

  • the reason that you aren't supposed to use hot straightners on wet hair is because it can literally boil the water inside your hair cuticle (since some straightners get up to 430 degrees)and cause the cuticle to burst, hence the severe damage

  • If you're suggesting that I have severe damage, I don't. I don't use the straightener on wet hair. But a lot of salon stylists are actually reccommending these new wet to straight straighteners. I've seen them advertised in articles in major magazines such as cosmopolitan.

  • noo no no i wasn't suggesting that you have damaged hair at all, i think your hair is beautifuL! i was just sharing that little tidbit about using straightners on wet hair because you mentioned that people had told you that if you used heat products on wet hair it would cause severe damage, i'm sure wet to straight products are fine to use though since they're meant to be used on wet

  • I DONT HAVE STRAIGHTENERS

am i a freak? i blow dry, but it's probably just as bad since i have to every day

  • If you already have straight hair, then there's no reason to do additional damage. I used to only blow dry my hair, but then I started to use straighteners and I love em.

  • is it better for ur hair to shower at night or in the morning???

  • I don't think it really matters but if you're going to style your hair I'd say in the morning.

  • hey, i wanted to reply at the top so everyone sees this, but i was looking up where to get a chi straightener and they have them on ebay BRAND NEW for $12.99!!! ceramic, high heat, (410F), adds shine, not sure about how much damage they add to hair..pink blue purple... they are awesome!!

  • I don't know if I'd trust that. Be careful, there's also a lot of adds for a MAC eyeshadow palette that are bogus. Be careful that you read every detail on that. There's no way they can get CHI's for that cheap, and if they are, they may be hot.

  • Ur a waste of time!!!

  • ummm UR a waste of time

  • no cause u shouldnt be saying that to anyone!!!

its mean she put a lot of work in this!!!

  • uhmm then why are u saying this to me??? hellooo read all of the other comments jeez and im just saying the truth

  • i know but u could of said it nicer!!

    sorry lolzzz wasnt thinking!!!! hehehe

I was in a bad mood!!! bf essues!!!

  • yeah np..i know what u mean

  • This video is talking about products and process of straightening hair, because, my video series is about the basics. Straightening hair is not self-explanatory, and neither are the products. If it is easy for you, then why did you bother watching the video which is very CLEARLY titled?

  • $210??? AND it's 10-20% off? omg why so much, here i can get it for $120, without any discount.

  • My Chi cost me $210 I got 10% or 20% off. It is the best though :) My stylist told me that hair looks better the second day of washing and it does.

  • Yeah I got mine for 140 at a salon.

  • Mine was from a salon. I live in Canada, so that might affect it. Without the discount it was $235.

  • SORRY i POSTED THT TWiCE.... MY BAD! l0L

  • i HVE THE SAME STRAiTNER TO!! = ]]

  • i HAVE THE SAME STRAiTNER TOO! = ]]

  • THANK YOU FOR All UR ViDS. THERE HElPFUl!

    THNX A BUNCH.

  • You have a stylist? How come? Are you rich, a singer, an actress,...?

  • doesn't alot of people have hair stylists? you cut your hair don't you? lol

  • haha that person is a weirdo. I have a stylist, she's just a person I trust to cut my hair. It's good to find someone that you trust and go there all the time. It's like going to the same doctor whenever you're sick or something.

  • Okay! HAHAHAHHAA

  • i really like all your videos. they are incredibly helpful and i like how you teach from experience and how you even mention different styles that may not work for you, but could be helpful for others (like me). thanks so much!

  • ok thank you! =)

  • Thanks for this, your videos are great. You're really pretty.

  • I've heard that if you use an expensive strightner, it actually wouldn't damage your hair (as long as you condition it) is that true?

  • Well, any heat products are going to damage your hair no matter what. The amount of damage depends on the quality of the tool. A ceramic straightener is your best bet to least amount of damage but as far as "expense" I don't know if buying a "brandname" like CHI really can claim to cause less damage. They're both ceramic.

  • ohh ok that fine tnx again

  • can i c ur chi straightiner plz!

  • My camera is broken right now =( Otherwise I'd love to. But I'm looking into video cameras atm.

  • Its like this kids shampoo

  • is royeala kids good

  • I don't know what that is.

  • i really thnk that you should go buy a around $100 straigtner, beacuse even though the cheap ons work as well, they can really damage your hair in the long run. so i really think you sould buy a straitgner that wont damage your hair like chi or sedu...especially if you use it everyday. =)

    btw..you're video was great! :D

  • I did buy a CHI since I made this vid.

  • omg i so agree with u. my hair is so healthy that i have HARD time straightening my hair especially it's dense/thick! but i have to advice you to only heat styling 1/2 a week to prevent your hair from aging faster.. :)

  • i think you give a lot of hair tips. it would be great if you give tips on styling using hair styling products :) i love styling hair~

  • I think you should leave her alone...she's just showing what she does and her own personal tips. She's not claiming to be a professional, leave her alone!

  • Maybe it sounds strange but olive oil is soooo good for dry hair, I juse pure olive oil as a mask and normal (the one who doesnt smell:P) When I've washed and dried my hair (BUT DONT STYLE THEN DO IT AFTER) and for the mask I do like a lott but just normal dont juse more then 4 drops!

Hope it helps for peolple like me with dry hair:P!

    Luvv Nisrine

  • You have the same straightener as me. They lie, for real. Sometimes when I have no time, I'll just straighten underneath and my bangs because they are the only curly part of my hair. (This is when my hair is wet.) But my hair always feels dry afterward... so I try not to do it often. So yeah, maybe the vents do work, but not well.

By the way, you have lovely hair. =]

  • you have the exact kair as me when i straghen it a little bit, but it doesn't match my stupid face and i don't know what to do.

  • I have a Chi, I love it! I ruin my hair by straightening my hair too, but I dont think I could libe without my Chi.

  • lol healthy hair does wat it wants that was pretty funny but true.

  • i second that..

i have VERY curly hair and the Sedu is best

  • I use Sedu and I personally like it better than Chi. I like how it has a temperature setting. I love my hair straightener.

  • Since i have THICK hair it took me around at least 1 hour to straighten my hair with a revlon straightener (around 30 dollars).

Then I switched over to chi and it took around 20 minutes, still a long time - but still half the time it took before (not to mention i don't have to wait hours for the straightener to heat up)!

It also makes it look so much better, i know i sound like some sort of commercial - but if you have thick hair like me you'll really be able to see the difference.

  • Yeah, you pretty much have to tame it into submission before it will do what you want.

  • You are right about healthy hair. I actually asked my stylist why my hair won't style or even stay up in a ponytail, and she told me it was because my hair is so healthy.

  • HI!!! well i just started straightening my hair in like august. What can i do to keep my hair safe from damage?!?!

  • Use a ceramic straightener and get a good straightening spray. Go to your local salon and ask them to help you pick one out.

  • Yeah, pretty much everything does...

  • i have that spray stuff

does yours leave a residue on your straighteners?

  • i have a ghd

  • I heard those are really good too.

  • i got a pink chi :)

  • That was a limited item and they sold out before I bought one so I'm very jealous because I love pink.

  • Thank you so much! My hair is JUST like yours. 2 questions: what heat setting do you straighten yours at, and how does the chi work for you?
