I remember I when I was Italy and I went to war with france, I had Austria, Great Britain and Prussia enter the war with me and the war lasted 30 fucking years with 4 massive empires attacking France it took 30 fucking years to accumulate enough war score to put them down for good.
Well, in real history, there was this thing called the Thirty Years' War, and it's kind of super important. It took the Dutch 80 years, if I recall correctly, of warfare to finally get independence. There was this other war that lasted 100 years too. I can't remember what it was called, though.
What I mean is: super long wars aren't uncommon in preindustrial societies.
HOW DID U BEAT FRANCE?!??!!!! Whenever i attack them, immediately they outnumber me, attack all my provinces and then BANG im gone...how do you do it?
You have to have a lot of allies and luck. I got the Ottomans on my side, and they sent enough armies to keep the French busy while I annexed their land.
Please tell me how you managed to do that as Granada. Whenever I play as Granada Castille attack me immediately and the Ottomans refuse to ally with me so I get destroyed within the first few months.
@usmell42 Well, I tried what you said but neither helped. However, another question comes to mind which was how you managed to raise a big enough army to fight Castille, their economy is crap!
Castille was busy fighting Morocco, Algeria and France when I invaded. I was the war leader and I got all the spoils. Besides, If you can capture that southern Spanish CoT... mmm... money.
@usmell42 lol, well you should consider making more Europa videos. It is incredibly entertaining seeing your vast Empires and your commentary is great too!
Building mercenaries right off the back is imperative as Granada since Castille will immediately declare war. Once they declare war, you have to avoid their stacks and pick off their small armies of 1000 men until Morocco and Algeria come to help.
I'm not sure if defeating France is a huge achievement. When I played as England It got pretty easy after I figured out the French battle strategy. Then again I had a large navy, so that made defending myself much easier.
I wouldn't say the most difficult, but Ottomans were the most interesting and attention demanding for me. Might be because I'm Turkish but still, one mistake just one and whole empire collapses. So I had to be extremely watchful for feudal wars going on in Europe, had to be the best naval force of mediterranean. Not like Castille or an asian country. Damn hard to contain Catholics + Orthodox + fellow Sunnis like Timur simultaneously while keeping attrition, economy and rebellions contained...
Oh nationalism, how I hate thee. Indeed, the Ottomans can be quite difficult. At least you gave sensible reasons for your choice, instead of only saying that the Ottomans are the best without any support. Silly Europeans, nationalism is for kids!
No, it isn't. You are only saying that because you are Serbian. Seribia is actually quite easy due to the Ottomans protecting it. That said, you have to be lucky to do well, but that applies to all countries. You can't honestly tell me that Serbia is more difficult than Chimu.
I think it is. Vassals field and control their own armies. Controlling all that land is difficult and cumbersome. I may not get as much tax revenue from them, but it is worth it to avoid the hassle of controlling armies there and handling revolts.
@WhiteNowa1 1st move a fleet with the same number of cogs as the number of units into the body of water that borders the territory with your army. 2nd select the army and move your cursor over the body of water, it should turn into an anchor. 3rd right click and your army should march onto the ships if the navy has enough cogs to carry them.
There are lots of ways to prevent them. Once a revolt has begun you must either surrender or kill the revolters. You can prevent them by lowering your revoltrisk.
pretty cool, the mugal empire is usually pronounced more like "moo-gul" though (but i doubt that's anything like the native term anyway) lol i tried to form them once but failed since i did'nt catch a lot of the cores in time and it all went down hill from there :(
actually i have started many wars with byzantium against the timurids and every time my crusades have been succesful :D only with 3 armies each consisting around of 18000 men
also i have fucked so much with europe that i have 5 military stars(my empire not the emperor)and all other nations go from 4 stars to 1 star lol
Use Morocco and Algeria as bodyguards and hitmen. Also: play with the rivalries between Castille, Aragon and Portugal. Try to keep them fighting each other.
@usmell42 ...but you don't start well with neither Aragon or Portugal in good terms to be able to push them against Castille. Plus, Castille attacks right at the start and I didn't get any help from Morocco or Algeria. Kudos to you!
Yeah, getting help from Morocco and Algeria is pretty iffy. Usually they don't help, but when they do they really kick butt. One time I got the Ottomans to protect me too and that worked quite well.
@usmell42 It's actually a lot easier to reform the Bizantine Empire than to play as Granada, you just have to be a bit lucky at the beginning and block the strait to retake Grece frst while the Turks are fighting in Anatolia

Morocco and Algeria. They are the key. Ally with them and hope they help against Castille. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.

Normally, yes. But the game decided to be ridiculous and make me the war leader. Bugs FTW!

it's also fun just to plunder other countries, for example i fought 3 wars with the Inca as Italy and made them pay 6675 ducats in total
