@amber0318 If you die before your husband he can remarry in The Temple and seal his next earthly wife expecting to call out both of you as wives(polygamously) in the LDS style ressurrection. If your husband dies before you, you can remarry BUT not additionally seal your next husband. LDS church is all about Polygamy for it's men.

From what I've noticed as it comes to religions...much like an argument with someone of another religion the other day, many people will purposely lie to themselves about the wrong doings in their holy book because they don't want to believe that there are flaws in said scripture.
You can believe she was 18, but this doesn't mean she was...and a good deal of proof points toward her being in the single-digit age range.
I can't exactly post links in comments so that's a question I can't answer here...but most citings point toward her being closer to 9. This isn't to say that people of X religion are as devious as the person in said scripture, or even other people in that sect of religion, just that you cannot expect a human not to have flaws or to be incapable of wrong doing.
I personally don't believe in particular religions as they're written verbatim, nor do I believe in any particular religion in the mainstream...simply because I think it's foolish for one to believe that imperfect creatures such as ourselves can truly grasp what a true God could really be.
I don't believe in persecuting others for their religious views, nor that one should be punished mortally or eternally for disbelief...which is my main qualm with most religions.

I remember when I watched this with a friend of mine who was visiting from Utah. It was pretty interesting hearing him explain some reasons why he thought most of the people didn't do anything. There is nothing misleading at all about the Video. Teen girls are forced into polygamy by polygamous mormon sects in the same manner as it was done when the church originated.

I was married to my husband in an LDS temple, and only to him. Polygamy is NOT a part of the LDS church. Hope this helps to clarify!

If your husband dies before you, you can remarry BUT not additionally seal your next husband. LDS church is all about Polygamy for it's men.

The state should take over those places. Fewer people are sympathetic to these people than you might believe. Warren's being tried for "spiritually marrying" a twelve-year-old in Texas. I am still not sure if I agree or disagree with polygamy but I do know that no one should be forced to be in a relationship with anyone, especially at such a young age. There is a set number for when we are considered consenting adults and until then we should be considered babies, as we are.

They were simply taught that they must OBEY or suffer in the eternities. Brigham YOung threatened them with HELL when they seemed to object to these pre aranged marriages. @jimmyisme17 LDS Mormons don't practice polygamy as they have temporarily suspended it, though they still believe it is the order of Mormon Celestial Kingdom.They still arrange a type of polygamous sealing in their temples though.
It's still practiced by their offshoots who share the same heritage ,founding prophetsand scriptures.
LDS missionaries won't tell you anything that doesn't sound good, there only purpose is to get you baptised into the cult and at any cost.

Sorry I just read the comment, first of all i do not wish to argue with you, by looking at how you wrote your reply I can tell you're not ignorant, but you are mistaken about somethings, the LDS church does not believe the torah is translated incorrectly and corrupted, we believe it is the christian old testament the one that's translated wrongly, since the torah is in no way translated because IT WAS WRITTEN IN HEBREW, but dont worry thats a common mistake the goyim make quite often.

From whom you have been misled into believing was a prophet. Brigham was a nutcase. He also taught that Adam is Father God all his prophetic career.

Polygamy is one of the most hideous man made doctrines ever created!
How can the sacred matrimony between and a husband and wife be an institution of love,respect,honor and most of all honor to God when a man can be permitted to fornicate with many women at at time and justify it as being a god given ordinance!God is righteous,faithful,honorable and true!
This doctrine of polygamy goes against all these attributes of a wonderful God!

I wish that you could see past your hatred of the LDS church. I myself am mormon and know that what our church teaches and stands for is true and right, I believe in Jesus Christ as all mormons therefore I am Christian. I hope that one day you will see us without predjudices and for what we are now. I dont understand all reasons for polygamy in our early years but I know it was what God needed at the time. My faith remains unshaken.

What would you do if you saw a young girl being groomed and coerced into polygamy like on the Video?
Would you help her or would you send her to her fate claiming it was GODS WILL and she should OBEY the PRIESTHOOD?
Would you threaten her with HELL like Brigham Young did in his time?
What would Jesus do? You claim to know him.

I don't believe in what the FLDS is doing today. I just have a testimony that at one time it was Gods will. I don't understand the reasons for polygamy in our early church, but I still know my church is true. I have had personal witness and conversion. You can say what you please but I want you and others to know that I have a testimony of my religion. I know that Joseph Smith was indeed a prophet and I have read the Book of Mormon and have had personal revelation that it is from God.

@loveablespaz33 Joseph Smith went on the record, telling a friend that every time he saw a pretty woman, he had to "pray for grace." And how do you explain the fact that he start pursuing the married wives of still living husbands to collect in his harem?! As for Brigham Young, he orchestrated the massacre of the Fancher Party!
I'm not suggesting you shouldn't have faith, but there are better religious leaders to look up to than these two!
