I own the PT-99 version of this work of art (adj. sights). I got it blued due to moonlight glare,, and holster carry. It is a little over 10 years old, has fired cheap & expensive 9 mils, as well as FMJ & JHP ammo in excess of 1100 rounds without a single problem what so ever! Great pistol that I have confidence in! In fact "HER" name is Lucille...Lol..Great video...Thanks
I just purchased a Ruger P-95 I love it but need to get a trigger job due to the very long pull on the trigger, how is the Taurus for this issue??? and by the looks of the video you have had lighter hammer springs installed.. does any one have a suggestion on hammer and slide spring s for a Ruger P-95?
@SlingBlade79 No aftermarket job done on this puppy. It came PERFECT out of the box. Not one problem, not one malfunction. It has a perfect trigger and hammer operation. I love this gun and will gladly take it into any battle.
@awomansworld123 though i should add, i am very pro 9mm (for both male and female users). higher cal is useless if reacquiring the target takes too much time. 1 hurried and 2 properly placed 9mm equal more led than one hurried .357... again IMO only
@SlingBlade79 my girl has this piece as her main piece. very nice. though, in my opinion the out of box... the trigger has a pretty long pull to it, and i am a 357 revolver guy. without hammer play ide be a bit leary of her using it without after market mod. don't get me wrong, nice gun, nice video as well... all is my opinion only.
I have a PT99 AFS. I had a FTE today after about 1,000 rounds. I was so shocked I didn't even make note of what ammo or mag I was using. Grips are not interchangeable with the Beretta because Beretta has no decock lever. I put Pachmayr grips on mine.
it's made to last because Taurus bought the Beretta factory in Brazil. if its a good pistol, it's the only good pistol by Taurus. I've heard of a BOPE officer about a shipment of the 24/7 model that was a disgrace! around 25% of the guns CRACKED in no time! the shipment was returned, obviously. In Brazil we have laws that say police officers MUST use brazilian guns when they're patrolling... it's absurd to force them to carry a gun they can't trust that much
I have this exact same Taurus and it has performed perfectly since day one - I must say it does not like to feed hollow points, but I found this is common with some automatics -- but I do like this gun and it was about half the price of the comparable Beretta -- and it has all steel parts inside, my friends Beretta .40 cal. 96 FS has a plastic guide rod and plastic trigger parts - he was really ticked about it after telling me how much nicer the qualty of his new Beretta would be- lol
A women that does firearm vid's on youtube? interesting.
You might wanna look into the pt99 which is the 92 with adj. sights.
Also actually there are quite a few parts that wont interchange on with the Beretta.. depending on the model Taurus and model Beretta you're trying to swap.
springs, guide rod, locking block, barrel are the major components you can swap.
if you take a old Taurus and a old Beretta they was identical but have since both diverged quite bit.
Back during the early '90s in firearm magazines. One of the good points on the "PT92" is it can be set to,"Condition 1"(round in the firing chamber, full mag, hammer cocked for "single action mode" & safety on). Can't do that on my Beretta 92F.
@mikethebikenut51 I never told anyone I was in Cali. I guess assumptions are gathered because of my world slide in the beginning of my videos. I would never tell anyone my real location LOL
Hey you I own the same gun, been working in the armored car industry for years with my fiance soon to be wife, I have had no problems w/ my PT-92 AFS at all, your review was right on, only I got an older model without the railing and I'm sad about that.
i plan on buying my dad's 92 (if he'll let it go) so thanks for the review. his is black, which i prefer over shiny chrome.. but thats just me, and who cares about what its shipped in? its gonna be kept in a holster after its unpacked.
Nice review. I own the Beretta 92 FS and it's a great gun however I'm not in love with the slide mounted safety. I'm looking at the Taurus and like the frame mounted safety....now I just need to decide on the finish. Thanks for posting.
I could care less how it looks, but what's the accuracy at around 10 yards? Honestly I've never fired a 9mm. Always been a .45 fan but I hear good things about these pistols.
@randomvalleydude 1in groups at 10, 25, 50 and 100. I hit every target I shoot at with this gun and to date not 1 problem at all. Thats no joke. So I hope that helps and it is a beautiful gun nonetheless. I actually purchased this gun especially because of the look and nothing more
@awomansworld123 no i didnt figure that out by watching ur video i know that because i own the same gun and every one does a shitty review and everyone says it wouldn't be a good ccw gun but i bet 90% of you dont even carry a pistol on you so suck it lady

@2kargarage1 Someone has been sipping on some haterade. LOL, you're too funny. At least I have a gun and I proudly posted it as one of the best made and best functioning firearms for this model and style of 9mm. THANK YOU! I would say generic or not it functions and it functions better than well. QUESTION, where are your videos??? Yeah thats what I thought...smh and rotf
Very nice review, It's very nice to see a lady who enjoys firearms. My GF loves my PT92 and as you said she finds it very easy to handle. Thanks for the great review.
In the beginning of your video north America is shown with San Francisco highlighted. You mention that your pistol was shipped with two 17 round mags. In california?
@mdemartile I never told anyone I lived in Cali (you see a map only & conclusions should not be drawn based on graphics on a video) Also I never said I got my firearms shipped to me. I've never ordered a firearm via mail & had it shipped to me thru an FFL at any time. If I cant see it, touch it and examine it I normally don't purchase it. LOL. You may want to go back and look at that video again. I did purchase my gun with two 17rd mags but I live in a gun friendly state. Sorry for the mix-up
I listen and watched I usually don't say anything about anyones review. At you doing reviews and I'm not. You told the number of rounds it holds and one more. Then you said with that many rounds you should be able to hit something I know it was joke but will the next person. Or will that person try. Gun safety is always first. Besides that a good review and s beautiful firearm
@DennyRec Im not sure what youre saying here-SAFETY? For those people youre talking about who might not get the humor in what I said-its a good thing Im strong minded & I dont live for what others think or feel about me or the things I say or do. I do this to help & if someone finds fault or error in everything I do on MY channel it only shows THEY have an obvious character flaw. Now for the ones that love me & appreciate what I do, I love you right back but for all the others to hell with them
You kinda scared me when you pointed the gun at yourself a couple of times without even showing that the gun was unloaded when you started your video.
Well even unloaded you still should watch the muzzle and never point it at yourself even if you have your finger off the trigger.
@JoeDurobot LOL, well I don't have a viral YT video yet so if anything were to happen I more than bet it would have hit viral status. I check and double check my handguns before videos so I'll be just fine. But thanks anyway because I scared myself when I watched it. I thought, oh no, dont do it AWW123 then boom I did it. LOL. Go figure, now I get to watch an attempted murder of AWW123 daily. Thanks for your comment and concern, I'll try and post a note or say unloaded/safe firearm each video.
@JoeDurobot LMBO, well thanks for setting me straight, what a bad role model I've been. Ok so, your concern is duly noted and modified for the next videos. I will be more conscious in my effort to use better gun handling and safety techniques, because I would never want to be the cause of someone hurting themselves. Once again thanks for viewing, God bless
Tried 3 types of ammo and still get the FTE like 2 or 3 times per mag and when the cartridge does eject it comes straight to my face instead of to the side
@wafflelow Clean your gun very well, oil it and then try different ammo. Find out which ammo works best in your gun and then stockpile it. Some guns are finicky with ammo. Mine will shoot any 9mm ammo and I've had no FTF, FTE, or stovepipes and Ive shot over 1000rds. Also check to see if your magazine is feeding properly sometimes the spring is weak. If thats ok check your feed ramp it may need to be polished but hey I'm no expert. LOL. So Im not sure
la mejor explicacion del mundo... aprendan de ella .. este comentario lo dirijo a todos los hombres que hablan y hablan y no van al punto que interesa... amiga te felicito eres la mejor
@romas1995 I have both. If I had known better, I would've passed up on the 92FS for the less expensive PT92. I don't feel any functional difference between the two after more than 2k rounds through either.
Very informative review! Taurus makes a good reliable product. I personally have an M9 but I used a PT100 for the longest time. Keep up the outstanding videos. Regards!
I know i'll probably get thumb downed for this but at 1:30 you are pointing the gun directly at yourself. I know it's unloaded but remember the empty gun kills! Also, i've got the exact same gun (but an older model w/ 15 round mags, no key lock, no rail but it has a decocker)-a classic :P. Anyway, great gun and great review except for that grave mistake. Sorry for being so critical but they're aren't many women who are into guns and I sure as hell don't want to lose one!
nice video. I am thinking hard on getting this. I want a Beretta, but I do love Taurus....also have you ever shot the Taurus Model 905? good combo id say =]
I just went out and bought one after watching your video. I think I got a fair deal at $465.99 on the weapon, but it sucks they didn't have any in stock and I have to wait a week while it's on order. Good to see a woman interested in guns and not afraid of a full size like this one. Thanks for the review.
Taurus sure knows how to make some beautiful guns! This one will definitely be on my list of eventual purchases -- in large part thanks to your very informative vid!
Hey thanks for the review. I've always like the M9 pistol, but not the price tag. One gun dealer pointed me to the Taurus PT92, and I love the pistol. I noticed some pro-Beretta folks talking smack about it, but really I can't tell the difference shooting both down range. They're both accurate pistols, just one is cheaper than the other. The grip is wide but I got long fingers so it fits well with me. The gun I have is made in 1992, and it shoots extremely well to this day.
Thanks for increasing my wife's interest in handguns. She, as I, love this PT92 and it's now on our list to get. Excellent review, thanks for taking the time to break it down too, I was waiting for that. Wow, what an eye popper,... you're right, a must have for a collection. I've had Taurus revolvers in the past, all zero problems, I trust Taurus..
Thanks for sharing .Being a Taurus fan I tell you. I love this model. It was my service gun at he Brazilian Air Force. I sent a little bit of tTaurus history to the handgunworldpodcast . If you have the chance to listen to it, Bob Maine gave like 4 minutes of his airtime to epxlain Taurus connections with S&W and Beretta. The episode is 104 and it starts talking about Taurus on 13 minute.
Fantastic review. Nice to see more women reviewing guns on youtube. I have several guns and carry between one and three glocks every day, but I also have a Taurus and have never had a single problem with it. It is very accurate and reliable, and the only reason people don't like them is because they bought something different. Keep the reviews coming!
If you'd said this were a chrome Beretta M9, I'd fall for it. I carried it on duty daily as SF, this is def more attractive. I have the pt111 pro, not ONE malfunction! 5*
Fantastic review! I felt that the grip on this gun may be too thick for people with smaller hands like me. Also I have mixed feelings for Taurus because of the problems I had with their warranty repairs, and lack of consistent quality control. Regardless, I have to say this gun sure look absolutely beautiful!
i agree it looks great and i like that its cheaper then the actual berreta but in canada we can only have ten round magazines so it takes away one of the advantages of the 9mm
Great review! I really love your format of how you review guns!
The 9mm gets a lot of crap for being "gay" or "unmanly" =P
Personally I love them because it's cheap to fire and it has capability for self defense. It's also a great gun to introduce to new shooters as it's not scary like a Shotgun.
How many people get turned off to shooting because some retard tries to embaress them with a shotgun =/
To a lot of people they are. Me personally. I love them. I'm looking to pick up a Stoeger Coach gun sometime in the near future. I'm game to shooting both barrels at the same time =P
@FireArmsResQ yea that sounds beastly, theres a hickok video where he shoot a pumpkin with a coach gun loaded with slugs, he fired both barrels at the same time and the pumpkin literally exploded into hundreds of peaces
Very well done! I am suprised to hear you say that it fits your had like a glove. However, you do seem to have long fingers. A lot of people, including men, find this pistol requires large size hands to get a grip around the frame and reach the trigger in double action mode. I have a PT 99 and I find that I have to r e a c h to get my finger on the trigger in double action mode. I am a male with medium size hands. I have never had any problems with mine, very reliable.
Strange. I wasn't aware that Taurus shipped their PT92's in cardboard boxes. I got myself a PT1911 in stainless steel recently, and it came in a hard plastic case (same as my Springfield Armory 1911). Good, brief review!
best review i've seen so far. i have a taurus .357 revolver and it jammed up and they fixed it in 3 weeks, sent it back in new box with keys. i'm thinking about getting this gun but also want a glock 29. not sure. great to see women protecting themselves.
I've owned several Taurus handguns, even carried one of their revolver as a service weapon. Worlds better quality today, compared when they first come out over twenty years ago. What are you using as your lighting source, my video can be a bit dark.
....... Great videos. extra info: The PT92's have fixed sights, & the PT99's have the adjustable sights. The one you wanted was a "99SS-17". I have a PT99 (1989 model) and still running strong. Anyway, good for you on arming yourself, and why are you still single ? (none of my biz of course) But guys love women who are into guns.
Great weapon and vid! I really want one, i shot it a few time and really enjoyed it but everytime i get the money i buy another glock!SMH! I got a 357 tauras! They make great weapons, they really starting to cum a round! But a few of them they could do better in the way they build! (im dont mean the pt or 24/7, or there 1911, revolers) but any thing else they could do better! Im going to get me one soon tho! Hey great review!5*
lol my mom just bought a taurus 38 special revolver and it came in a cardboard box as well but from what iv heard they have a pretty good reputation but iv never fired one.
@piketyl000 I own a Taurus revolver model 609 seven round revolver for 12 years and I never had any problems with it very heavy revolver though but is very good for target shooting and for home protection but I would never carried it on duty to heavy!
2kargarage1 8 months ago

In california?
mdemartile 9 months ago
@mdemartile I never told anyone I lived in Cali (you see a map only & conclusions should not be drawn based on graphics on a video) Also I never said I got my firearms shipped to me. I've never ordered a firearm via mail & had it shipped to me thru an FFL at any time. If I cant see it, touch it and examine it I normally don't purchase it. LOL. You may want to go back and look at that video again. I did purchase my gun with two 17rd mags but I live in a gun friendly state. Sorry for the mix-up
awomansworld123 9 months ago
I listen and watched I usually don't say anything about anyones review. At you doing reviews and I'm not. You told the number of rounds it holds and one more. Then you said with that many rounds you should be able to hit something I know it was joke but will the next person. Or will that person try. Gun safety is always first. Besides that a good review and s beautiful firearm
DennyRec 9 months ago

JoeDurobot 9 months ago
@JoeDurobot LOL, well I don't have a viral YT video yet so if anything were to happen I more than bet it would have hit viral status. I check and double check my handguns before videos so I'll be just fine. But thanks anyway because I scared myself when I watched it. I thought, oh no, dont do it AWW123 then boom I did it. LOL. Go figure, now I get to watch an attempted murder of AWW123 daily. Thanks for your comment and concern, I'll try and post a note or say unloaded/safe firearm each video.
awomansworld123 9 months ago
@awomansworld123 It's just basic gun safety, you never point a gun at yourself or anyone else even if you checked it was unloaded.
Im more concerned about you showing bad firearms handling in your videos since people will learn from them.
That being said I liked your review.
Im not saying that to be mean, just for you to be safe and set a good example of gun safety in your videos. :)
JoeDurobot 9 months ago
@JoeDurobot LMBO, well thanks for setting me straight, what a bad role model I've been. Ok so, your concern is duly noted and modified for the next videos. I will be more conscious in my effort to use better gun handling and safety techniques, because I would never want to be the cause of someone hurting themselves. Once again thanks for viewing, God bless

Tried 3 types of ammo and still get the FTE like 2 or 3 times per mag and when the cartridge does eject it comes straight to my face instead of to the side
wafflelow 10 months ago
@wafflelow Well the only thing I can tell you, is send it back to the manufacturer. They have a lifetime warranty
awomansworld123 10 months ago
I'm having FTE on mine any suggestions
wafflelow 10 months ago
@wafflelow Clean your gun very well, oil it and then try different ammo. Find out which ammo works best in your gun and then stockpile it. Some guns are finicky with ammo. Mine will shoot any 9mm ammo and I've had no FTF, FTE, or stovepipes and Ive shot over 1000rds. Also check to see if your magazine is feeding properly sometimes the spring is weak. If thats ok check your feed ramp it may need to be polished but hey I'm no expert. LOL. So Im not sure

the taurus now has become a very proffesional company , is still prefere the beretta inox 92fs but the taurus pt92 is equally good
romas1995 11 months ago
@romas1995 I have both. If I had known better, I would've passed up on the 92FS for the less expensive PT92. I don't feel any functional difference between the two after more than 2k rounds through either.

MrAlucardthe1st 1 year ago
I know i'll probably get thumb downed for this but at 1:30 you are pointing the gun directly at yourself. I know it's unloaded but remember the empty gun kills! Also, i've got the exact same gun (but an older model w/ 15 round mags, no key lock, no rail but it has a decocker)-a classic :P. Anyway, great gun and great review except for that grave mistake. Sorry for being so critical but they're aren't many women who are into guns and I sure as hell don't want to lose one!

I just went out and bought one after watching your video. I think I got a fair deal at $465.99 on the weapon, but it sucks they didn't have any in stock and I have to wait a week while it's on order. Good to see a woman interested in guns and not afraid of a full size like this one. Thanks for the review.

But cheap ammo and light recoil still remain. Great gun to let somone fire who is new to shooting.
This Taurus looks really good! Wouldn't mind owning this or the other Beretta Clone made by ATI of Turkey.

Great gun and review!

Nice video, good review.
I've owned several Taurus handguns, even carried one of their revolver as a service weapon. Worlds better quality today, compared when they first come out over twenty years ago. What are you using as your lighting source, my video can be a bit dark.

Very well done. By the way, you have the best lighting for a stainless gun vid that I have seen.
