They ARE still singing... Saw them last year at the Red Bluff round up in Red Bluff, Ca. They brought the house down and never missed a beat! Looking forward to them coming back here to cali. They aslo have a website you can go to and purchase the old hits as well as a new album they are working on. Enjoy
@imyourman22001 Hey, cool, I was there, too! GREAT, great show, easily one of the very best I've ever been to. They had them on DirecTV 101 free concert series for a while, too, similar playlist to Red Bluff.
@shortymac85 Well, one of the original guys died of cancer, I think the other left to pursue other interests... Ships of Heaven was sort of a self-penned eulogy / memorial piece, apparently... so the remaining guy filled up the band with old buddies and such who play music. They're still very good :)
this song is my FAVORITE; i know the words to it like the back of my hand;; i grew up listening to these guys, i will NEVER get sick of them, i love their voice, and they started out like 45 minutes from my hometown<3 my parents and grandparents saw them play at a bar when they were trying to make it big, and they even sat and drank with my parents n grandparents ((:
So true. Jeff Black is easily one of the most under appreciated artists of our era. Then again I think its unfair that a band like Blackhawk and an artist like Randy Travis fell off of county music radar.
Of all the Blackhawk videos I've watched so far, this is the first one that I slightly recognize. I was only 7 when they debuted and I wasn't much of a music listener when I was young, so I thought I'd listen to all their hits to see if I had overheard them somehow over the years.
I have been searching for this song for quite a while ,the video was very good , it featured a preacher who did some unusual paintings , sadly the video is not in this sight the video was featured on cmt about 10 years ago I remember the artwork was a standout feature.
thanks for posting. love this band and this song. there is just something about them that is freaking awesome. i can listen to them over and over. thanks again.
I considered suicide, this song made the difference between me being here and not. Blackhawk is the most amazing band on earth, when I have a horrible day where nothing seems good in my life, this song holds me in there and keeps me positive, today is a blessing from God, and tomorrow will be just as good, or even better, even if we don't see it now. Thanks guys, you are a Godsend.
Never knew about this band until i was flipping through the channels the other day and found them playing this song live. Its incredible. Particularly the jam. you can really feel the music and energy go through you. Im sure you feel the same way
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant song. I can't say that enough. It should have a million views. This is their best song next to "I'm Not Strong Enough to Say No." This has more meaning though so I'd give the edge to this one. Thanks for posting.
Blackhawk is still recording, just saw them in March. However the band has changed. This is one of my favorite songs. FYI, Dave and Van wrote songs for Restless Heart.
I, too, am not a great country fan but this group, OH MY!!! Just a couple others I like almost as much, Love the Harmony! Try "Restless heart" Great harmony too. Enjoy!
Love this Band. Wish they'd do more.
