Everybody knows that the older you get the less likely you are to adopt new technologies. I think McCain does know what the internet is and understands the general thrust of information technology. I couldn't care less if he personally "googles" or sends email. I doubt very much if FDR was personally using the typewriter in 1941.
If I want someone to work in my company as a telemarketer I'll hire a tech-savy kid. If I want a President I'm focusing on other issues.
have you ever seen the new triple x movie? a single guy and do alot of massive damage using a 300 dollar computer. and if the president is not aware that a cell phone could be reading the messege sent to a computer in a military base, and the cell phone gets launch codes. and then from launch codes creates something like conficker. and then could littlerally end the world, using top of 1000 dollars worth of technology
@thelettersmlg Huh, I didn't realize there was any kind of law against me watching whatever the fuck I wanted to whenever the fuck I wanted to. I feel sorry for your bitch ass that knows no such thing as grammar and spelling. Go rise your south somewhere else, moron.
While I am not a supporter of Obama, I have to disagree with Mr. Bai's argument. Expertise is a tricky thing to talk about especially when you start talking about jobs like that of the president where the ability to recognize and attract talented advisors is among the most important skills. In many academic pursuits, youth is an advantage and while it's difficult to make an easy analogy in this way, Obama's experience and education make him no slouch. I still disagree with his positions though.
The fact that I don't like McCain does not mean that I have to like Obama, and the idea that you assume such to be the case is an idictment of U.S. politics at large.
As to the idea of a new cold war, Obama's rhetoric has not a big improvement on McCain's. For that matter, his rhetoric in regard to Iran has been less promising than many believe. Right now, the fact that he talks about getting out of Iraq (sort of) is the only major difference between him and McCain in regard to war.
The fact that you believe that there is a viable alternative to Obama in this election is silly. The two-party play to the center is a pain, as I'm far more to the left than any serious American presidential candidate will ever be. On the other hand, Obama's playing to the center with regards to Iran rhetoric (because Americans hate them terrists) isn't genuine - McCain's love of war is a deeply held belief that he talks about constantly, and his hatred of Russia (or the USSR to him) isn't new
I did not say that there are more viable candidates than Obama. This, however, is not reason enough to support him if he is indeed a bad candidate. If you admit that he is willing to spin his rhetoric for political reasons, what makes you so sure that he has been honest about his true intentions? Because he wrote an autobiography? Because he's a democrat? I suspect it's because of wishful thinking.
Because he is a politician, and I realize that a major party Presidential nominee needs to win ~60 million votes in order to win the Presidency, and winning 60 million votes in this political climate without professing some hawkish views in front of AIPAC isn't going to happen. Obama was against the Iraq war from the start, and the vast majority of his rhetoric is along the lines of "Hey, let's try talking things out and using more than military to solve our issues."
And beyond the foreign policy debate, there is an economy in shambles that isn't going to be solved with Reagonomics, education isn't going to be solved with voucher and merit pay nonsense, and the very good chance that 1 or 2 liberal Supreme Court Justices will need to be replaced in the next 4 years means that having a Republican in the White House could be catastrophic for Roe v Wade, stem cell research, separation of church and state, habeas corpus, etc, etc, etc. There are larger issues
I asked why you believe that he has been honest about his real intentions. You answered, "Because he is a politician." Very few politicians carry out campaign promises once elected. Just look at Pelosi and our wonderful democrat majority in Congress. I agree that there are important issues, but I do not believe either McCain or Obama will make a whit of difference. I do not agree with your politics, and I do not agree with your apparent moral flexibility.
question 1: How the hell does McCain not know what google is?
question 2: every successful company uses email to keep coworkers and employees in the loop of that buisness 24/7. technology is offiacially intergrated into our economy, if mccain dosen't want take a couple minutes to learn how to email, how can anyone want him to be our president, He wouldn't know run a buisness let alone our country's economy.
Senator McGoogle? Being honest about not knowing economics or the Internet, the Senator instead wants government to print money and bonds instead restoring tax rates for the wealthy. Ignoring the deficit has already caused the loss of the dollar's value, which becomes apparent when purchasing gasoline.
McCain has experience alright... Experience in the kind of politics that laid the groundwork for the trouble in the middle-east. Experience in the kind of politics that gave Osama Bin Laden weapons and military training from the CIA. Experience from the kind of politics that jacked up the oil-price, gave ExxonMobile the highest profits of an oil company ever, and noticeable effects from global warming.
Vote McCain, experienced in how to keep fucking up the USA and the world!
Obama may not have much experience, but with the change in technology and the new political and social landscape we are living in, its basicaly a new world. And NO ONE in politics has much experience in this new world.
Yea and when they said "I'll google that for you.." he was thinking"What the fuck did he/she just say?" I guess he is just too old. He's lost contact with reality.

John Conyers is no different, and completely revealed it by his comments on Democracy Now last week.

"Not a lot of Presidents have time to sit around on the internet."
Bush had about two years of vacation time. I think he could have used a little bit of that researching his own bullshit.

McLame is a horse and buggy president. Does he even know how to operate a light switch?
How can he lead if he's so out of touch?
Listen to him talk its as if he just woke up from a very long coma.
How can he lead the most technologicaly advanced country if he doesnt know whats going on?

flamablesteve 3 years ago 2
On that note- for someone that lacks so much experience? It's odd how he's giving these so-called "experienced" politicians a run for their money.
magog1138 3 years ago
Probably because the only thing the rest of Congress is experienced in is accepting lobbying money.
flamablesteve 3 years ago
Dude thats the best statement I heard in a long time, so true. McLame certainly he dont know whats going on.
shaggyjam 3 years ago
John McCain does not look that stupid.
You would have a memory retention problem not knowing google even if you actually dont use the computer OR watch the tv OR read a magazine ever.
Campain members must have during a discussion said "Ill google that for you" or something.
The world is changing exponentially and away from McCain. USA can not afford this lack of leadership.
