IDK why, but total war games just always seem better with out guns to me. I like the hand 2 hand fights better. Cause of that I think RTW was the best. If they made a RTW 2 it I would pay 200$ for it!!!!!!!!!!!!

It needs a good rig, otherwise you'll have to put up with low settings and high loading times, its quite memory intensive as well. My friend who has 4 gig ram says the loading times are quite fast on his pc.
i don't think they represent rebels as such, i think rebels are more of a blanket faction for minor kingdoms, and small lords and to represent bandits. I think they are just given the rebel label as a generic easily understandable term.
Does anyone know what specifications you need to be able to play this game? My computer has AMD Turion 64x2 chip with ATI Radeon graphics card thing, and the operating system is windows vista. It works pretty well with medieval 2 total war on a reasonably high setting. Do you think my computer can handle this game?

i hope theres no rebels in this game.. so unrealistic, like in rome total war.. over half of the map was ruled by rebels and that sucks
