@Zac6230 I don't get it. I know what a fart is, but I never posted anything about that on this video. Did you reply to the wrong person or is this one of those weird Internet jokes that I haven't caught onto yet?
I always envied the little turds in these commercials playing with the toys. All toys of the 80s and early 90s. I'd get the toys, but it was the sets they had in these commercials. Like buildings, the Statue of Liberty, dark streets and alleys, etc. If I was a child actor on the set of these commercials, I'd have taken the fucking sets home with me :p
None of you guys know what your talking about...The Real Ghostbusters toys are based on the cartoon of the same name. The reason it was called "the Real Ghostbusters" is because there was another cartoon called ghostbusters that had a gorilla in it. Anyway, the toys came out earlier than the 90s, because I was born in 81 and I got the firehouse for Christmas in like 1987.
The Real Ghostbusters isn't even Dan Akroy'ds, Ivan Reitmans, or any of there oriinal ideas. They all based it off the 70s show. You can see the similarities.
1. The name alone, Ghostbusters 2. The Backbacks 3. The Ghost dematerializer
The Real Ghostbusters was totally lifted from the 70s Ghostbusters , there was nothing original about Akroyd's. Yeah it was good and funnier with updated humor, but certainly not original. Akroyd Vanilla Iced the original Ghostbusters.
@xIegionx Yeah but it was based on the real original ghostbusters. Don't get me wrong, I love Dan Akroyd's ghosbuters, but Akroyd is actually NOT the original one. He got the entire idea from the 70s ghostbusters show. It's obvious when you watch it. They even had ghost packs.
@texformer WRONG sir, the idea was COMPLETELY made up by Dan and Harold Ramis. The characters, gadgets all him. YES there was a Filmations GHOSTBUSTERS before it, but Dan did NOT get the idea from it. In fact, when they were searching for a name of their film, they thought of "Ghostbusters, but realized it was already taken. After some time they finally bought the rights to use the name Ghostbusters in their film. That's all. THE NAME. Nothing ELSE
The Slimed Heroes line up for the Real Ghostbusters arrived in 1990, thought since Ghostbusters II came out one year before, and Louis had been appearing the cartoons for a while he was made into an action figure. I loved seeing the proton pack come again with this series,.
I hope that soon I can find the rest of the figures to finish out the set.
I've still got most of the toys: both the figure and delux lines: the firehouse Ecto 1-3 the original figures, the proton pack, trap (never did get the uniform). I'm almost sad they never made an adult sized prop, I'd STILL dress up as a Ghostbuster for halloweem to take my kids trick or treating.
Ecto 3 was the go kart vehicle in the Kenner, toyline. On the cartoon it was this little unicycle that was mortoried and fit into a compartment on Ecto 1 behind a rear fender. It appeared in the episodes, The Joke is on Ray and Stay Tooned.
Man, I forgot all about that thing! I still happen to have my Ecto 2. Remember that? It was that thing that somehow flew, and it was on 3 wheels. It had a little hook on the bottom that could anchor onto characters or objects and hoist em up. My cousin and I always had cool toys like go-carts, vespa's, and 4 wheelers when we were kids, so we always named each one Ecto 1, Ecto 2, 3, and 4. What nerds we were.
If anybody is interested, my page is dedicated to great old things just like this. I have tons of videos in my favorites with only good old stuff like this, add me as a friend and spread the love of the 80s and 90s
well im sure it was somewhat inspired by that since htis commercial is obviously set around or after Ghostbusters 2. They did have the lewis Tulley figure and all.
lol should've read the other comments first. seemed like every boy's parents went through the same issue of NOT finding the statue of liberty? lol! Fucking KENNER man, should've made it?!!! it would've sold ALOT! dumb fucks..
did they actually sell the statue of liberty as a play set for the ghostbusters toy line? i remember when i was little begging for that, but my dad said he could never find it?
Ecto 1/1A - Ecto 2 copter was the best vehicles, loved Ecto 2, the ghostbusters plane was crap, the slimed heros were quite good, but not as good as the fright features or super fright features figures.
I wanted that Statue of Liberty when I saw that commercial. I remember my parents believing me that it was an actual toy, and looking all over toy stores for it. LOL, damn I feel bad for them.

Hey wait Dan Akroy'd made this script
for the movie Ghostbusters. I think Dan Akroy'd
never comment about the 1975 Let's go Ghostbusters.
Look Ghostbusters is out on the dvd and blu-ray.
And they release video game already on 3 consoles
back in 2009 after they release on the NES
and Sega back in the 80's and 90's. Now Ghostbusters 2
is now out on the dvd already. I hope Dan Akroy'd
is reading our comments. By the way do you watch the movie
