Is it possible to play some synth bacground and sing somethning into microphone at the same time? It is very important to me. Is it possible to use R3 microphone to sing, or just to vocode? on XL i can sing, but i can`t play any background at the same time. On R3 it could be perhaps possible by maping audio in (XLR) on one exat kedy and keep it latched and on rest of the keys some patch to background. Or does R3 have audio through?
Hi ! I am about to buy a synth as this one, and I don't know which must I choose between the Microkorg, Microkorg XL and this one. can you please help me thank you
I have a question, is it possible to edit and create arpeggios using the Arpeggiator like you can on the MicroKorg? Or could you only use the arpeggios that are preset on the synth?
The Korg R3 can be used without a computer, just like any keyboard or synth. It has onboard sounds and will function as a great stand-alone synth. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
Sure, it'll work. You would get better sound quality out of a dedicated keyboard amp, PA speaker, or even a home stereo system. Feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
@kraftmusic are you sure it's ok through a guitar amp? I would think it would be like a bass through a guitar cab, amp section would be fine but the speakers aren't designed for the longer excursion of the lower frequencies, in short it would harm the speakers over time if not sooner if it was cranked up. Doesn't the R3 get pretty low into bass territory? Not trying to be argutive it is just how I learned it.
You are correct in that a guitar amp will not be able to reproduce the lowest frequencies from the R3. You'd probably want to roll off the low end either coming from the keyboard, or through the amp's onboard eq. It's certainly not ideal, but I don't think you'd damage the speakers on the guitar amp unless you left all the bass in and really cranked it up. Thanks for your input!
Can we buy the editor librarian seperately? My friend let me borrow the R3 and his x50 for the month, but if I like the software I might buy one of 'em-
Hi I would like a synth to add authentic real sounds to my recordings, I record my guitar bass and drums but I would like to add synth, I am a complete novice on keyboard but they are pretty fun, would this be a good buy?
Thanks for your interest in Kraft Music and the Korg R3 synth. I think this would be a great instrument for any guitarist, bassist or drummer looking to expand into other sounds. The R3 is a very powerful synth that's easy to use and customize. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.
@kraftmusic Thank you for your comment, I have an R3 now! Ready to be opened at Christmas :)
Whats the best was to record it do you know? Via USB or Line in I have this cable with two amp leads one end and line in at the other, I also have a sound card at the back of my PC if that helps!
You'll want to take the 1/4 inch line outputs of the R3 and connect them to the 1/8 inch line input of your PC's soundcard. The USB connection on the R3 is only for transmitting and receiving MIDI data. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns.

@gerbercik: Definetely R3, R3 and XL are like small radias, but R3 us just better, and microkorg is like ms2000, so here you decide

Nice review of a cool VA!
1 question though. When you change the arpeggiator tempo with the dedicated knob, does any of the screens read out the actual value?
