Man... I screwed mine up trying to do this. Can you send me a link to where u were able to do this? I accidentally deleted the .ini file for the music player and now it won't even run the navigation system.

I was able to get the Garmin mobile software to run but couldn't get it to recognize the GPS using any com port. Any help would be great. Thanks' for posting this

Hello, I installed Garmin on My Nextar W3G-01 . Every thing went on well. Except that it is not able to identify GPS receiver . GIving an error "unable to locate GPS device Please verify that device is powered on and within range" . Do we need to do any other tweak to avoid this message ?

Hi, I'm trying to run Garmin 5.00.20 on my Nextar W3G-01. So far, I've got it unlocked and can run the Garmin software. The only problem is I cannot connect to any satellites. I've got it set it COM7 as you do. I'm thinking it has to do with terminating the DShell.exe you did at the beginning. Also, my taskbar does not show up and i cannot seem to install any Taskmgr applications on CE 5.0. Any insight? Thank you

I hacked my touchscreen GPS to run in CE now my sylus went wacky and I cant click on anything! Does anyone know how I fix this? Do I go in the registry? Anyway to use a mouse on it?

I have a Q4 too. However, I cannot get Garmin to connect to GPS receiver. I modified auto run not to start with DShell. How did you make your garmin to connect to GPS receiver. I know it is com7. When I disabled gps, there is a screen I can specify which port. I did specify com5. It will not work.

@2BunnyReturns This isn't Windows Mobile, it's Windows CE...but WinMo apps are compatible with CE since WinMo is based on CE.

Oh, LOL! I guess I just kind of call it that out of habit. Is it easy to exit the gps application and get back to the main WM/CE interface?

Well I don't own one (yet maybe) but from what ive read its relatively easy, just need a little bit of computer knowledge.

So, like a keystroke combination? Do you have a model name for that particular unit?

@2BunnyReturns Nah no keystrokes, you gotta connect it to ActivSync like you would do with a Windows Mobile device and change a certain file to say "explorer.exe" so it'll load the main WinCE interface instead've the GPS App, but I can't be for sure since I havent had a chance to test this...

Well just to connect the device and do what I said in my last comments, it costs nothing, you can download ActiveSync for free.
