Michigan Football Throwback Uniform Unveiling

What a catastrophic day for the UM brand. Never thought I'd see us striving to be like MSU. Pandering to the masses goes against the core of what UM used to be. It's why people respected and disliked us. The problem is that UM is now in fast food mass marketing gimmick mode, following Michigan State. Who would have ever thought UM would be pandering.

Notre Dame fans have been talking trash the past two years, so i'm not really worried about it. Its going to be a great game either way. This is something new to Michigan. It doesn't matter whether you like it or not, its just new. And I always love to see new uniforms .. especially at Michigan. GO BLUE!

My old man said something to me the other day, and I've actually noticed it myself since, but Michigan's jersey's just looked better in the 80's and early 90's. I don't know what exactly it is, maybe it's the manufacturer of the jerserys since I believe Russell did the unis in the 80's and early 90's before Um switched to Nike and now Adidas, but I also think color-wise the jerseys are a bit different.

I dunno, those old "tear away" jerseys just had a great look to em thats been lost.

I don't love the legacy jerseys, but I don't hate them. I guess when it comes to a team like Michigan, whose jersey has remained basically unchanged for 70 years, I can understand why doing a throwback would cause some problems, so a "Legacy" jersey makes the most sense.

I'm still rooting for the return of the all white away unis. I'm not old enough to have been able to see them in action live, I've only seen them from archive footage, but I've always thought they were pretty sharp.

I didn't watch the whole video, but the jerseys will be available August 1st at M-Den for $79.99 in limited supply and numbers. I guess there won't be a #22 haha.

I think they look good except the shoulders should have had the Michigan helmet logo facing left and right w/ the stripes running down back of the helmet meeting at the neck.

Ohio State had legacy jerseys this year too, but they sold them for bling and tats before they could be unveiled.
