Wow this is an old song. I remember buying the 45 vinyl from Bleeker Bob's when the song first came out. It was the bands best song. I saw them live with The Damned back then and The Damned blew them away then proceeded to trash the place. Thanks for bringing back good memories!

One of my favourite records of all time, played by John Peel in 1978 which is where I heard it. Bought it in Virgin New Oxford Street a few days later, and still have it right here, possibly the same day as Skids Charles EP or Sweet Suburbia. The lyric is either Stinking of gin, or at worst Sipping at gin. The person who loaded the lyrics should correct them, it looks silly mate, and look how many of us have noticed !

They DID sing "stinking of gin" very clearly when I saw them a bunch of times - unless I'm totally deaf... I think they recorded this without the alcohol reference... I have the 45 rpm record, but don't know if it;'s the same version as this, and don't have a record player any more! Anyone have a copy where you can hear "stinking of gin" ?? please post a reply if ya do!
