  • thanks

  • what's the difference between chorea and athetosis , please

  • @tinhi1 Athetosis is a slow, writhing movement of the hands, neck, face, etc. It looks like the patient is trying to slowly twist their hands, etc. It is caused by a problem with the Globus pallidus of the basal ganglia. Chorea is a flicking movement of the hands, face, etc. that looks kind of like the patient is pretending to play the piano. It is caused by a problem with the putamen of the basal ganglia.

  • @aschaale good description. Thank you!

  • thanks lot iam medical student and it was so difficult to know these medical termanolgy but with this domenstrating vido it is mutch easier thanks alot

  • @dando77100 you're a medical student and you speak like that? Hopefully you don't plan on practicing medicine anywhere around me! :D (by the way, "a lot" is two words)

  • sincere thanks for uploading this....shows what a hundred words fails to describe.

  • looks like he play piano.. :p my prof told me that nice video man.. thx!

  • Thanks

  • nice work thanks

  • cuz this makes sense

  • awsome vid man, so much better than 2 sentences heaps of words of descriptions for this movement

  • Thanks sooo much for posting this video. I am currently experiencing the same thing except my whole arms loose control and more but your video helps show that someoen has the same problem as me. Please update and how you're doing. Thanks you. You have my blessings and hope you well.

  • thanks, helps to understand

  • Thankyou for posting. My gf was recently diagnost and I was skeptical but after seeing this it is excatly what she has. Started with just the hands but now affects all limbs and her neck. medication is helping and it stops when she sleeps. usually sparks when she gets emotional or really tired from work/school. thankyou again

  • thank u so much for posting dis vid! it really helps rather than reading all the definitions in the book.

  • This has been REALLY helpful! Reading 10 descriptions of what chorea is did not help me visualise chorea as much as your vid did.

  • thank you so much for posting! :)

  • muito obrigado. estudo fisioterapia aqui no brasil e esse vídeo me ajudou muito a entender essas formas de movimento. muito bom...

  • Thank you for posting, I was reading about Huntington's and was curious as to what exactly the symptom "chorea" was. Very informative vid
