excellent conclusion cudnt agree more, the way the news broadcasts today "BBC, FOX, SKY NEWS, broadcasted together each story is 97% vague! in which no practical explanation for conflict is given anymore, and everything now falls under the catagory of terrorism, all for dramatic effect ofcourse ):-|
Horribly horribly true. Have just been to Africa's biggest slum. As a writer I am still grasping for ways to describe what I saw.
But the globalisation of charities, the untouchable nature of corporations and arms-dealers, the inanities and atrocities of tourism, the deep games played by power-brokers - new & old, these phenomena are all linked.
The only positives I cd see were the extraordinary dignity of the people I had a chance to talk with, and the fact that everyone had a mobile phone.
He gets the part right where he says we are constantly drilled into a state of helplessness, but it's quite clear this is to promote government not "oh dearism".
This was the highlight of short films on Newswipe. An intelligent, thought provoking and topical viewpoint (compare this to the personal opinion masquerading as fact/news in the US, that the ep also attacks, Glenn Beck etc) This is also beautifully edited to. That scene with the Hawaii 5-O ska theme and the crying African lady is just staggering in it's synchronisity. Newswipe is as good as Private Eye on a really good day

The real problem with Ethiopia wasn't on the TV news. The real problem was that the Ethiopians outbred the carrying capacity of their environment. Live Aid only postponed their inevitable dieoff.
Well said. There should be controls on affluence as well as numbers. U.S. per capita affluence is about 10kW, while most other developed nations have a per capita affluence of about 4kW. In Ethiopia, per capita affluence was somewhere around 60W.
the thing is though there are enough resources to go around its just that money prevents us from using them as we inevitably have to pay for them. Thats kind of why africa is in the state it's in they have all those materials to use but alas they have to buy them from the companies which own them
Why would the "Elite" of this world want to give up all their Riches theyre making it so they won't lose them. Resource based economy is what I want also but people have been taught to be driven by their ego it's sad seeing so many people mislead.
@AnarchistInTheUK yeah there is enough resources..i get what your saying...but i still think theres way to many humans..well theres way to many humans that are detatched from the earth and dont respect it..including myself! mother nature will find here way to reduce us..she always does.
All races, whites included, die off equally when they outbreed the carrying capacity of their environment. Carrying capacity sees no skin color, so there's nothing "Nazi" about it.
The final punchline is just knockout brilliant.
