So ideally, you would develop automated posts to build basics before humans colonists arrive, automation can be used on earth to replace harsh labor and make basic items & services available to all. Water filtration/recycling and hydroponic tech can help feed people here (and while helping humans here and the environment you improve the tech for space too).
The democratic/functional/volunteer/transparent organisation models for moon/mars colony can be tested and ironed out in communities here
they spoke a lot about the need to develop fusion power to make interplanetary space exploration feasible. it could be done right now with existing technology. check out Project Orion. to triton and back in 7-8 years if i remember correctly. also VASMIR engines are fairly well along in development. 39 days to reach mars. all the wonders and treasures of nearby-space are within our grasp and no one seems to give a damn.

Why areyou intellient top one % of America wasting time on this? Why is Mars nesessary? The earth is it- this is our only shot! There is no time left to waste more trilllions on prorams that leave children starving! Why not set up an anti Bilderberg group- a new generation of world changers! Why not make a plan to change the corruption within the system- be heros!
