Well, I disagree about Faddis. He's a high-note specialist so he's not going to groove like Harrell did on flugel. Faddis is a world-renown trumpet player so stating that he "sucks" is a bit closed-minded. YOU may not appreciate it, but that doesn't mean nobody does...

@jmotz3 I agree. I don't like his playing either. He's great "at what he does" thats why he's on countless jazz and pop sessions etc as a lead player. BUT I don't care for him as a jazz soloist because I don't like his sound either.

Jon Faddis sucks!! His playing reminds me of a high school trumpet player who is obsessed with playing high notes all the time and thinks it actually sounds good. Tom Harrell and Lew Tabackin gave me chills.

@jmotz3 Your comment shows how ignorant you are, considering the fact that Jon Faddis is one of the greatest all-around trumpet players in the world. Everyone is different man, everyone has had to sound like someone before they develop they're own sound. You have right to your opinion even if its based on limited kniowledge of style, syntax, harmony, rhythm and knowledge of Jazz. Theyr'e all great, they all have their individual style and all swing differently.
