  • wow... this is evidence that soon cars are going to steer themselves when we drive

  • Wow...my nanas gettin the escape with this

  • I wonder how many spots this system rejects, saying they're too small. It sounds like a good idea, but would be more useful in a bigger car. I don't understand what the big deal is with parallel parking. Do they not teach you that in the States?

  • Did you not listen to the entire video? He says it is one of their "comfort and convenience technologies"

Do they not have technology where you are from?

  • wow that car is beautiful

  • This is one of the stupidest things ever. If you can't parallel park a car (a small one at that), then you shouldn't be allowed a driver's license. My 17-year old daughter can parallel park my Chevy Yukon 10-15 seconds in downtown Chicago.

  • theres no such thing as a chevy yukon.

its a chevy tahoe or a gmc yukon.

  • lmao 15-30 seconds... i do it in 5-10, any longer and you're gonna piss off people waiting for you.

  • Lazy way to do parallel park ... please go get a driving course if you don't know how to do parralel parking ...

  • good for women

  • parallel parking is not that difficult

  • it is for a semi

  • Lincoln makes very reliable cars. Lincoln's Active Park Assist is one of the best parking guidance systems out there.

  • saves you a buttload of time in metro streets that for sure

  • Great car! I usually really don't like american cars, but lincoln has put up some nice ones. This one included. Kusdos to them.

  • Ford is taking the lead in the world once again!

  • maybe you guys can start making cars that dont suck now.

  • people just need to learn to drive.

  • i wish i had this for my license test

  • samee!

  • imagine using this on your driving test

  • Haha, wouldn't it be awesome if the parking spot was on the right, but then the car thinks there is a parking spot on the left...but in reality it's just a bunch of oncoming cars.

I doubt this technology is that stupid, but imagining it is pretty funny.

  • Impressive and the new Lincoln model looks nice too. I never liked Fords much but it seems that they're making great progress especially for these times.

  • listen some of you peeps, if this were a toyota, people would be saying "that's the greatest invention ever."

  • i agree

  • Ford is adding this technology to the 2010 Ford Escape and Escape Hybrid

  • For women this is Brilliant. Ford has estimated that women will get back between 2 - 4 hours a day with this device!

  • I'm thinking... but I can't remember having to parallel park anytime in the last three months. Not that I avoid it, just doesn't come up.

  • like volkswagen park assist.....

  • VERY VERY COOL!!!

  • Looks interesting but that parking space was enormous. You could be the worst parallel parker in the world and still manage to get in that space. Let's see how it performs in... boston.

  • man, this car is nice, but humans are getting more lazier and lazier lmao

  • Can't imagine how much this costs.

  • i dont need this. know why? cuz im a MAN not a woman.

  • Oh yeah. This new technology will help these American makers sell cars right? This won't benefit them at all. Try to make new technology that people will want to buy. -.-

Why waste the time and money to develop a such a useless and pointless device? They should be putting the money and resources to compete with Japanese Automakers. ^_^

By the way its still cool, but what were they thinking? =_=

  • The best thing to come out of this system is fuel savings. This system needs electric power steering instead of the usual hydraulic pump which is a constant load on the engine. Also if you ever watched people park this will be much quicker than most people parallel park saving even more fuel.

  • awesome. i love living in the future

  • Great technology with a future. The automatic transmission, when it was introduced in its time, was also thought to be an overpriced luxury feature for the lazy few.

  • actually

  • Oh my god! KIT is real! :)

  • Sorry - you think if a foreign automaker can't make something work then we shouldn't try? We're innovating at Ford. When we already had the sensors and electronic power steering, it was a natural for our development team to put the two together to create this new feature.

  • This is cool.

  • Cool!

  • great solution

  • Looks much better than Lexus's version.

  • 1000x better than Lexus. I think for lexus you needed to use the touch screen and align boxes or something like that vs just hitting a button.

  • i almost bet that wont work in rual towns were there arn't lines telling you were to park

  • It doesn't require lines. The sensors look for where other cars are parked and alert the driver.

  • you don't need lines for it to park, it just finds a spot big enough for the car

  • That's good for incapacited people, seniors and yes for LAZY LAZY people.

  • if u cant parallel park you shouldn't be driving.

  • totally agreed

automatic cars are for dumb people who cant work the clutch too

  • Yeah, parallel parking is easy, but you'd have to be really lazy to use that.

  • and why would you buy a Lincoln or a Lexus if you can't park? if they insist on using this, put it on a cheap car that people who can't drive well will feel comfortable getting a few bumps on it.

  • we get lazier and lazier every day

  • I love Ford and it is Nice Technology!!!! But totally usless. The day I am too good to park my own car is the day I stop driving. Automatic park assist was dumb useless technology when Lexus came out with it. And I still think it's dumb useless technology even now. Save the $3,000 and park it yourself.

  • Thanks for your opinion. This is different technology than Lexus'. And a price hasn't been mentioned yet. There are individuals, who, because of personal circumstances or injuries, are physically unable to turn to be able to see effectively while parallel parking. This will be helpful for them.

  • i thought it was pretty cool at first then i read ur comment and i couldn't agree more.just how lazy and technology dependent have we become when we can't even park ourselves?

  • If it didn't catch on for Lexus, why would ford waist the time and energy?

  • Because ford is ran by a bunch of blooming morons. Just look at the lack of marketing. There blowing money at useless junk like this.

And that car is fugly it looks like a mini baleen whale crossed with a Kia.

  • because this system isnt dragging alittle green box allover your touch screen and hoping the car gets in that box.

Plus not everyone buys dressed up toyotas, they just go right for the corolla. thats why it didnt catch on for toyota

  • to leezy lexus did catch on because the ls is is in the 60,000's this is 46,000

  • parking is one of the most basic things to do?!!! come one!!!! i dont need a computer to park my car........ford really knows their customers are really idiots.......anybody who buys ford or any of its branches are idiots......

  • perfect for womans

  • nice... wish my linc town car had that feature in it!

  • I am gonna get that car

  • way to copy off lexus

  • if it didn't work for lexus, why would ford do it?

  • AWESOME =]

  • wow now thats coool. it looks like for changed the odometers.

  • nice ^^

  • youre a little late!

Cant wait for your company to crumble.

  • I'm not impressed. 3 reasons

    1. It's been available on imports for years.

    2. People need to to learn to drive.

    3. Most importantly, this is just a selling point. Why add features when you need to be refining the original product? Such as: drivetrain, emissions, curb weight, aerodynamics, safety, etc. The car might be what people want but people as a whole usually make bad choices when they have money to buy a car. Build for the future, not for backwards thinking irrational fat Americans. TH[]INK

  • Way to go Ford ! Can`t wait for EcoBoost , New Fiesta world car , Fusion Hybrid (Toyota Killer)

I`m proud that my Mercury was built without any tax-payer bailout money and was built at "Chicago One" and has been absolutely reliable and fit and finish is great ! Last JD Power survey showed Mercury just behind Lexus , and ahead of Toyota AND Honda. Let Cerberus-mobiles and General Crap Motors die off.

  • So basically Ford has managed to copy Lexus and now thinks we need a video to show us how technology that has been around for a few years now works. Awesome!

  • Paddle shifters must be the ecoboost MKS.

  • Another gadget for the American driver whose skills have eroded so deeply that they now need a computer to drive for them. Absurdity at its best. The American driver has already almost for gotten how to shift a manuel transmission as Automatics are a growing portion of the Auto market...combine these with Anti-lock brakes, activet raction controls....now auto-park. Stupidity will eventually riegn supreme as the motoring public will be totally reliant and subserviant to thier cars.

  • its like the Lexus park assist

  • WoW! when is it going to be available? and does is going to e available at puerto rico?
