  • put snowflakes on and reply until they fill the screen :-D

  • i like clyde's songs best of all the posse's.

  • also question to any pianists. is playing with your hands crossed over like that a proper technique or is it just her being weird yet awesome as useual xD

  • @heinzie5 Oftentimes a composer will have hands crossing over, but she seems to be playing that way because she's adjusted a two-keyboard piece to one keyboard. In other words, she wrote for the right hand to be on the other keyboard, and it's easier to have it play the notes it's used to playing than flip the hands around. :)

  • @heinzie5 it's proper technique.

  • i always prefer tori amos without the backing band

  • This was my least favorite song on the album when I first heard it, and listening to it here just changed all that for me. It's beautiful.

  • the way she plays this.. it's perfection.

  • 10 Q branka04 you posted just Magic.

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE to hear the more complex songs stripped down like this....Love this version

  • @scanterh I think that may be an accurate interpretation

  • I just how she switches into "Clyde" the moment her hands touch the keys and it makes a sound.

  • That voice is still so incredible after all those other amazing songs she's sang, she still writes and performs them to perfection! I just love this woman forever!!

  • does anyone know where i can find a download of this acoustic version?

  • Voice, hair, everything is fab. She changes her hair as she feels right for the musical period she is travelling through. ...awesome

  • actually, that wig looks excellent on her. by the way, i'm always shocked at how few people actually get what this song is about. This is probably one of her most direct/literal songs. It's probably dextro, that's the most chill of em all ;) That mic has fucking amazing resonance it must be a neumann with a gold diaphragm but i should probably do my research before assuming. If someone knows let me know, and i'll be picking one up asap

  • @proximity1111 I believe it's a Blue. It's extremely expensive.

  • @proximity1111 And what is it about? I'm one of those dumb people, sorry to shock you again. Since you said there's a direct message, I was reading at the lyrics, and for me this song talks about how she's been able to overcome all the differences she's had with her husband, because despite it all, there's always the love that they have for each other which is bigger...something like that? no? correct me if I'm wrong, haha ;)

  • @proximity1111 oooh now i get it, now that I researched what dextro is....the speed drug. but I don't think the song is necessarily about a drug...but who knows...

  • what a beautiful woman.

  • Comment removed

  • beautiful.......beautiful....she has this amazing warm voice which takes you away and when she sings she's so into it and amazingly femminine...

  • Don't you worry She will, I can bet.

  • Iam so interested how she will sing and play and perform in about 10 or 20 years ! ! ! hope she will stay !

  • Fascinating to watch her Genius brain in action as she plays the piano with her arms crossed. Remnds me of Mozart in Amadeus- another freak Gupsy rebel prodding us on. Thank the All for our beautiful freaks.

  • This song makes my heart chirm. So beautiful and Tori looks like a goddess too <3

  • love it, beautiful. hearts abound.

  • çok tatlı bence=)

  • I wished the song was like this on the album. I might have gotten spoiled by this version when she was playing it without a band on the radio shows across Europe but it would have been better than the album version...

  • she.. is so unbelievably seductive. she makes me melt.

  • I love seeing her play two pianos at the same time, so I'm a little desapointed with this video...

I prefer the album version, but this one is beautiful too.

Tori would be awesome even if she played Britney Spears. =)

  • Like played Britney like a piano, that may be hot haha. I dont thingk im understanding what you mean. Sometimes I get disappointed with myself, because now I like this song A LOT, and I am like well why didnt I before?

  • as with a passionate love, the most brilliant require a time of fermentation that brings out its hidden treasures

the beauty of speed is the illusions it tricks us into en route to those gems in the rough

  • She did play a Britney Spears song when I went to see her in Oakland earlier this year, and it was awesome. She played "Hit me baby one more time" and it took on a whole different meaning. It was a million times better than the original.

  • Heh...I always thought it was "so simple and stiffening"...but its"so simple last evening..." Excellent version.

  • lol!

  • Wow she is amazing. & gorgeous.

  • is there any way to obtain this version in decent quality _somewhere_?

i really don't like the album version that much, but this is gorgeous.

  • I would like to know that, too!

  • I like this version very much

  • This is such a beautiful song!

  • The riff sounds a little familiar. A bit like Cooling. Which is awesome because that is my favorite song. God Tori rocks... I love her. x

  • really? you think so?

  • kocham ten utwór!

  • ja też!

  • tori doesn't just play or sing she TRANSCENDS

  • Beauty of Speed is my favourite from American Doll Posse. I still prefer this over the one that's on the album. This is so pure it almost breaks my heart. Thanks so much for posting this.

  • Gorgeous.Simply gorgeous.

  • I am so in thrall for this woman.

  • this is simply beautiful

  • clyde has the best songs.

  • My cat loves Tori. Serious. He's a little mess then I put on her music and he makes happy cat face and curls up at my feet.

  • That's so cute. :D Have you found out it's favorite song? =))

  • Your cat has an enchanting taste in music. :D

  • looking back and forth from two pianos it terriable

  • god, i am loving this chick

  • having an awesome time learning this song.. i only have one piano so am trying to master the arm crossing thing. bloody hard work.. it'd be better if i refined my technique before learning this. (being self taught, i have virtually none)

  • She's so great! I love this song.

  • i know many who have been there and she hits it right on the head of the nail truly a brilliantly sad song

  • love tori!!

  • Im new to tori's music and it just amazes me

  • This is sooo Amazing!

I want to play this song too,

    It's so beautiful!

    One of my favorites..

  • I love this song!

The one of the CD sounded slightly different, but there all good! =D

  • She is so absolute, and beautiful. Look at the emphasis on her face with every key. It's amazing.

  • God, this is amazing. Even better than the album cut, in my opinion.

I wonder why she plays it with her arms crossed over one another? Pretty impressive, in any case.

  • it's virtually impossible to play this song without crossing your arms, because the right hand is dominant and can play the part further down and the left hand plays a little part over the top that doesn't require so much movement of the hand. It's kind of hard to explain, but i think you can kinda get what i'm trying to say....maybe =/

    HAHA

  • Ha, well, I think I understand your explanation. Thank you! I was wondering after watching a second time if it also has something to do with the fact that it was originally composed with her using her right hand on the piano/keyboard behind her and the left hand on the main piano.

  • yess that's right, so she has to adapt it to play on one piano =]

glad i actually made some kind of sense to you

  • tori's answer to arm crossing is to play two pianos at once. most of the time when she does that, you could play it on the one piano with arm crossing. not all the time however.

  • Her music is as amazing with just the piano as it is with a full band...the true sign of amazing art. She is indeed a Goddess, thank you for sharing this with us!

  • she's a godess... no doubt!

    te amo tori

  • She is fabulous!

No words to describe her unique art !

  • Maybe the most beautifully structured, organic tune she's written to date. "The statue lies hid in a block of marble; and the art of the statuary only clears away the superfluous matter, and removes the rubbish." - Joseph Addison

  • This is such a beautyfull song, I love it!

    my favorite 2:)

    She is Amazing!

  • The songs from studio are beatiful :) Tori & Bosendorfer - This is amazing duet. They don't need the other instruments! :)) So, i have a question. Does the site with mp3 from studio exist on Internet?

  • Beautiful! This is my favourite song on ADP!Just amazing! :)

  • this song is hard to play.... but so much fun to learn! lol

  • so beautiful!!! it made me cry..

  • I am almost ashamed to ask, but I've been wondering for a while now about the ring on her finger, on the right hand. She has it like for years now, whenever she appears. So, does anyone know the meaning of it, or who she got it from? PS: Like ADP. Better than the last two albums I think. Beauty of Speed is one of my favorites along with Smokey Joe, Father's Son, Digital Ghost. Seen her in concert in Bucharest. What a trip that was:)Thanks for sharing the studio version too.

  • This song haunts me.

  • ...she's perfect. Who else is absolutely horrified by the fact that she said she'll cut back on world tours, and has no more planned, and thinks she's reached her peak when it comes to performing?? To think that she'll start making less and less beautiful, perfect performances like this one...it makes me want to cry.

  • you serious? where'd she get caught saying that? aaw no : (

  • It was an interview that floated around the old Tori forum. Lemme check if the forum is still up, and if it is, I can get the link. If not, I'll try, but I can't make promises.

  • Here's the link:

  • I listen and listen...this song is just simply beautiful.

  • Chills just went down my back.Wow

  • Was this video made specifically for youtube?, if so brilliant!

  • very impressive video!

  • She´s the goddess....but ditch that wig, girl!!!! Please !!!

  • i love this song.

  • Wow~ O_O

    Wonderful ;O;~

  • I love this song!

  • tori looks good with a wig or without it. red hair I love you tori "Goddess in the Piano for ever and ever" digital ghost is my favourite song in these album.

  • why weren't these studio performances put on the dvd? that cd/dvd "special edition" was the biggest waste of $ and 8 minutes.

  • my favorite too!

I am just coming back from the ADP Paris concert - it was DEVINE! There's no better word to describe it!!!

  • My favorite song on ADP...so amazing:-)

  • YES!!!!!!

  • stunning song... as are all by the clyde character... would make a great autumn single... hope she sorts out the singles for this LP ... promotion needs some attention in the UK... a few chat shows will not cut it

  • Tori sounds beautiful and the song is beautiful. In regards to the wigs, not my choice but as always Tori has something in mind that eludes to a meaning of sorts whether it be an alter ego or a point she may be trying to place creative emphasis. Bottom line, she is a creative genius and if she wants to wearing Christmas tinsle on her heard, so be it.

  • gorgeous

  • She's pretending to be someone else.

  • ..but how can it be that you know who she is and who she is pretending

  • ...you may have misunderstood me... someone commented her hair *wig* looked bad... I think she looks fine she's just pretending to be someone else. I can't remember "who" sings this song on her new album, I don't have liner notes. (oh, its clyde) I luv Tori... I met her in 1996.

  • Great song. BAD hair. She looks like she came out of The Adams Family movie.

  • yeah she should stick with her natural hair, that's what fits her. Great song indeed. I'm going to see her perform this june in Amsterdam, I can't wait!!!!

  • Agreed.

  • @CheapSushi She wanted to look like that, to make a statement! The same thing with the photo from ADP of track housing and a bible!

  • love this tune
