@romanjohn10 Really? Wow I guess I better just quit panning. I hope the folks I sold that 20 1/4 ounces to over the last 6 years dont figure out that it was all mica..........
@Propanner yep, people are strange. reminds me of the high school French teacher that took a vacation to France and started telling those people that they weren't talking right. love your videos.
@13thkyd Well it does'nt pay my rent. Theres alot more to locating a decent pay streak than most people think. I could make a living if it was just me, and I lived in my truck or RV, but it wouldn't be an easy lifestyle. You gotta learn how to locate good color, and do it on a daily basis, before you try making a living at it.
@dollors1 Gold Is very heavy, so gold finds the lowest spots on bedrock and makes itself at home. All I did was find the "lowest" point on the bedrock and...voila...there it was.
Why don't you sell the things you use to pan with? All us newbies have to start/buy something, why not buy the good stuff? Most of the time money would be wasted trying to find the good items needed to be successful. I want to be a "Propanner"...Thanks.
I like the Super Sluice for 3 reasons. The large flat bottom allows you to see ALL the gold in your pan, and if you know what your doing it's impossible to lose gold with this pan. The 3rd reason is ease and speed.
You can find these pans online, they're usually $9.99.
And yes they are worth every penny. I bought mine used for $7.00 dollars 4 years ago, I have found 13 ounces of gold with it. Thats over $12,000.00 dollars.
ive been looking for new pan, ive been using a metal one that i dug up in an old blocked off mine shaft kinda my lucky pan if you will but ill look into one of these. thank you
At the current price of gold $733.10, 1 gram of gold is worth $23.57. For flakes and fines this is the maximum you'll get, but with pickers and nuggets the price can be more depending on buyer. That picker was about 2/10ths of a gram so you might get 4-5 dollars again depending on the buyer. The larger a nugget is the rarer it is so that really makes a difference on the value.
My best day was roughly $400.00 in about 5 hours. It's rare but it does happen. Like any hobby, you'll get out of it what you put into it. The more you prospect, the better you'll get and the more gold you will find.
excellent video. You found it on bedrock with clay. Interesting, I will keep that in mind. I went out a couple times here in WA state. People had already dug huge holes all over diffrent parts of the river so i dug my self one. All i was able to find were a bunch of specks, about .5 grams in all. One time i did find a pretty good size nugget - 1gram, but i didn't know were i found it because i was placing all my concentrates in a bucket. found it the next day when i panned the bucket.
Remeber to keep an eye open for heavies, I show a large 1 in the clip and thats what I look for to locate pockets of larger gold. A heavy in this area is a large piece of magnetite or hemitite also known as black sand!
What exactly does it mean when you find Magnetite? Will there be gold close by? I have heard about the presence of black sand (where there is gold there is black sand, but no the other way around). I find heavies all the time when sampling, but have yet to find even a spec of gold?? never any

wait what did you do exactly from that cut to the V shape to panning for gold? Take a chunk of the dirt from the V shape?

Wish it was always that simple....but.

wow! seems like a lot of work for $5. I mean, what are the odds of finding a flake. How long does it take to find a flake? 1 flake per hour?
