  • hahahahaha

    "honesty"

  • hypocritical

  • That's rich.

His wife diagnosed with cancer and he's having an affair.

I guess he had Faith he wouldn't get caught. If you said he was lower than fly excrement that would be honest.

  • Big Daddy

Oh yeah, the 1968 stands for the year my DAD was born, brain surgeon. But, I'm

sure when I get to 39 you'll STILL be on the internet PRETENDING to be a republican LOL!!!!!

  • By the way, being republican (you were dead wrong, I'm republican) doesn't mean being religious

The only kind of 'republican' you are is the kind you find on the internet.

    IOW. NOT a republican. lol!!!

Plus, I can see logic is not your strong suit but, for the benefit of those who CAN think, saying

that the dems HATE God, which many basically do (except for the foolish followers) is

NOT the same as saying Repubs Love God.

  • Why is godlessness so bad?? I don't get it!! It is a virtue for a president.

  • godlessness IS a virtue. BUT, although Edwards admits he is religious, I think his discomfort at 1:47 about expressing himself religiously should be commended.

  • Why?? What's he afraid of?? He said ask me about anything.

You guys can't fool us. We KNOW that you guys are not only GODLESS...most of your leaders literally HATE JESUS with all your heart. The least amongst us includes

unborn babies. You know the ones you want to be LEGALLY murdered...Those 'least amongst us.'

    Big Daddy

  • kids...

    *rolls eyes*

  • Not a democrat. It's a vice. Howard Dean who is the HEAD of your party is so full of CONTEMPT for The Bible he claimed his favorite NEW Testament Book was....

    ...JOb!!!

    LOL!!!!!

You guys want jobs but don't even know where Job is in the Bible.

    Big Daddy

  • "Ask me about anything because I've rehearsed for a long time what a religious man would answer at any question."

To get elected you have to be a man of faith. You have to drop a rational thinking process and accept what is written on few and very contraddicting books. You cannot be a good president and believe that Moses really parted the Red Sea.

  • "You cannot be a good president and believe that Moses really parted the Red Sea."

I don't know about that...you guys tried electing a guy who wore his 'Lucky Red Sox' cap on for the last two days of the 2004 election.

    LOL!!!

Liberals...they're FAR kookier than any religionist.

    Big Daddy

  • What a childish response. You cannot prove wrong somebody's thesis by bashing his persona. You end up being a jerk.

By the way, being republican (you were dead wrong, I'm republican) doesn't mean being religious. Most of the founding fathers were diest, not theist (go study the difference).

You are already 39, get a life.

  • Our country was founded on separation of church and state, and freedom of religion, NOT christianity. John edwards seems to understand this, and he expresses it at 1:47.

  • "The least among us" should include the unborn lives affected by abortion. Otherwise great stuff here from John. I hope his views on Abortion will get back in line with the majority and he would realize that life is precious and should be protected.

  • His views are pretty much ine line with the majority, because the majority of Americans support abortion being legal in at least some cases.

  • So you ADMIT wanting to Kill unborn babies legally.

Wow! That was easy. Not as easy as it will be to put another Republican in the White House for EIGHT more years, but easy nonetheless...

    Big Daddy

Ps Buy stock in Eli Lilly now/cash in Nov 2008. They make prosac you know. LOL!!!!

  • Contemporary to Jesus there where other 2 messiah. Healing people, capable of miracles, who died crucified and flew bodily up to heaven.

Wait I forgot. They came back and appeared to their disciples as well.

Why do you believe only in the famous one? They did the very same things but no one worships them anymore!

  • "They came back and appeared to their disciples as well."

Yeah, well there were two other drummers for the Beatles.

Why do we only remember RINGO?

    LOL!!! This is too easy!

    Love,

    Big Daddy

Ps See how simple it was to expose Liberals REAL RELIGIOUS BELIEFS. This guy did it ALL in just one post: Mock and denigrate Christianity.

Thanks man! Your post just helped us win another election. Whooooo!!!

  • check out ron paul, he is a REAL republican, not like the other moron trash they have had run the last decade. when nearly all republicans and the majority democrats voted for the war in iraq and the patriot act that essentially burned the bill of rights, ron paul was among the few that voted against them. anyone can tell you what you want to hear, ron paul tells you what you need to hear, and his voting record proves he really means it.

  • John Edwards is RIGHT ON! We love you John!

  • Edwards says that he thinks religion is being used as a devisive wedge. I totally agree. We need a president who it open minded to accept people and their beliefs, or lack of beliefs, or understanding of science. Edwards may be that guy. We'll see!

  • He's a trial Lawer. Are you people idiots?

  • What the hell kind of comment is that? Are a spokesman for the insurance industry or something?

  • That doesn't make him the devil, you peabrain.

  • As a Buddhist Mr Edwards is a refressing change from the existing administration. Mr Edwards speaks of faith as a personal belief that drives his thinking and actions. He does it without saying that I am wrong to believe what I do. Yes, You can have religions convictions without trampling on other people.

  • I said that wrong, I'm the Buddhist, ;-)

  • I AM godless. Why do you imply that that's a bad thing?

And faith is a wedge. If Edwards cannot see that, then I have serious doubts that he is capable of dealing with the issues facing the world today.

  • How can you call yourself a man of faith and condone such acts? I can understand people living this lifestyle as man is given free-will by God, but to have their rights given while Christian rights are stripped from the public display is wrong. When 85% of the U.S. is Christian and we can't display a nativity scene because 15% are offended is a travesty.

  • The mess does not come from nativity scene's but from folks that want to force my children to read the 1st through 4th commandments in public schools. The same commandments that most christians can't even quote themselves. I am not offended by your display, But you also must understand the consequences of forcing me to accept the decidedly dogmatic parts of your faith.

  • It sounds like you and I do not have a quarrel with one another. I for one, never forced anything on you or your kids. The ones pushing religion are overzealous. As a Christian, I can give you the information and the decision to believe or not believe is yours and that is the simple premise of Christianity, simply a choice.

  • Yet you find many christians backing folks like Judge Roy Moore who said "There is no place for that here...." when asked if a Hindu could do the daily prayer in his court. If I stood up in his court and said "I am a Buddhist" would I get a fair trial? Would the christians that voted him into office knowing the kind of person he was be responsible for that?

  • And certainly, the New Testament does not say nearly as much about homosexuality (7 verses) and abortion (2), but immorality, which produces both of these situations, IS very well spoken of in the New Testament, and the champions of Secular Progressiveness (the staple of the left-wing portion of the Dem party) condone and promote the acts that produce this immorality.

  • But if you take out what Jesus said about the poor, there is still plenty of other teachings that in there. When compiling verses pertaining to the poor, including benevolence, and welfare, there are 155 verses in the New Testament. That leave 7804 verses left. Your estimation is off by a bunch.

  • Apparently, you don't read the Bible much. Yes it is written that we should take care of the poor, but how can you best do that? Jesus said that if you give a man a fish you can feed him for a day, if you teach him to fish you feed him for a lifetime. Give people a hand up, not a handout.

  • I forgot which party is trying to remove GOD for our country, and making us a secular country???. Who is using FAITH as a wedge???.

  • God for our country? I wish. Events in Iraq cast a doubt on that. ;-)

    That was cheap I know.

  • i really enjoy EVERYthing this man embodies. i think he would do an amazing job as President. i thoughtt his b4 he ran with Kerry. There is DEF more to this man than his hair. not a good reference but kennedy was one of the most admired presidents and the most attractive and he got more done than most president ever have.

im not worried weather or not he is a democrate or a republican because i wont want to pick a SIDE i want to pic THE PRESIDENT.

  • Edwards/Richardson '08!

  • WHY?

  • Beyond the fact that I agree with much of what Edwards says, I think he is electable, and it would be politically smart for the Demos to put forth a candidate from the South. Meanwhile, Richardson is a popular Governor from the South West (another area that is up for grabs), and more moderate.

  • You always see the American flag by a liberal,Charles Manson can have a american flag tattoed on his chest, does that make him a great american or patriot. NOT

  • How can you put the word honest next to john edwards, that is like honest and bill clinton or honest and satan.

  • I will post this Churchill quote again as it is pertinent: "If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves."

  • Thanks for erasing all of my Winston Churchill quotes. Shows real integrity and honesty, don't you think Mr. Edwards? You are a tool.

  • Sorry I left the comments on the other "we the people" video. At a person of integrity and honesty I admit when I make a mistake. But you're still a tool. That I cannot take back.

  • Hey John Edwards, how much did you pay for that haircut? Giving to the poor and you paid $400 for that haircut? Gimme a break, you sir are a hypocrite! The best way to get the poor on track is to give them a hand up not a handout. And don't play with the tax bracket, you will kill jobs and the economy.

  • Isn't someone who earns his money and pays taxes on his money (Mr. Edwards has spoken out in favor of higher taxes for people making more than $200,000) entitled to spending his money how he wants to? And, please, show me a presidential candidate who isn't loaded. At least Edwards acknowledges the problem of poverty in this country.

  • It seems that haircut is the only ammunition the haters have against Edwards. How much do Bush's dinners cost? How much does Mitt Romney spend on his super slick hair? It is a non issue. Just because someone has money, doesn't mean he doesn't care about the people who don't. Listen to Edward's policy ideas, and you will see he Does Care about the Have Nots. Look at his record as a Public Defender, you will see the same.

  • I have much more ammunition than that, it was just that paying $400 for a haircut is a waste of his money. It shows that he is a hypocrite and if he is going to be that frivolous with his own money, how fiscally responsible is he going to be with our money?

  • Besides, I have no interest in his record as a public defender. If he were a prosecutor, maybe. And his policies are not helping the poor, he is enabling them to depend on the government for help forever. That is why I say give them a hand up, not a handout.

  • Currently, the welfare system promotes promiscuity, not prosperity. There are not enough incentives to get off the system of government assistance and plenty of people enabling the promiscuity. I know b/c I am an on again off again recipient of government assistance as a disabled student.

  • Why I know about the promiscuity promotion is that my SSA councellor wanted me and my wife to have kids so I could get more money, a medical card for my kid and wife, and not have to work. I chose to work and get off the system. It just so happens that I decided to return to school and get educated.

  • So when I lost that job, I got a PASS and later a Ticket to Work (look those up) to get my education over a handout. These programs are available to those that CHOOSE them, but are not readily offered b/c of the paperwork involved and lazy SSA workers. Most gvmt assissted people choose welfare over work. I am currently seeking a MS degree w/o help of assistance other than student loans.

  • Another thing supporting promiscuity is that recipients are allowed to have as many kids as they want (or don't want) as it keeps adding to the amount of assistance they get. These kids are more of a commodity than a child to the recipient in a lot of cases. And they get to buy alcohol and cigarettes too with money that should be earmarked for food or shelter. There is something wrong with that picture.

  • The important thing to remember is that the individual in our society has a better chance to rise above their situation through individual means than to rely on the government to do it for them. France is living proof that relying on the gvmt for total support is not self-sufficient as their unemployment rate is phenomenal. It does not take a village to raise a child, it takes two parents.

  • As far as the haircut goes, I have my wife cut mine. I spent $27 5 years ago on a pair of shears w/accessories and I haven't spent a dime on one since. That leaves me more to donate to charity each year. To reiterate, I only commented on Edwards hair to point out his hypocracy and how put off people are that he pay so much for such a mundane act.

  • Wheelieguy is a tool. Edwards is a dangerous candidate because he isn't taking money from corporate special interests, but despite all of the media propaganda against him, polls show that he has the best chance of winning the general election. Most people aren't fooled by tools like you, Wheelieguy.

  • Not taking money from special interests huh? How about money from one of the most corrupt organizations on the planet, the Unions? That's not a special interest? What about money from law firms and trial lawyers that drive up the cost of insurance, medical bills, and other costs as well? All special interest groups that stand to benefit from a liberal President. Not taxpayers. We'll get screwed. You're the tool and if yo're stupid enough to elect this man, I feel really sorry for you.

  • Special interests are special interests no matter if they are corporate or otherwise. If it were up to me, there would be no lobbying or special interests in Washington. It corrupts all legislators and there isn't a Democrat or Republican that can't be corrupted and Edwards has his share of baggage to tote as well.

  • But I am not worried about Edwards winning for President as he won't make it out of the primaries. He is well behind Obama and Hillary in most of the polls and even if he does, I believe the conservative base will wake up in light of the crappy job the Dems have done thus far in their takeover of the House and Congress that we won't have to worry about a liberal being in the Whitehouse anytime soon.

  • Besides, corporate interests are what give people jobs in this country so what is wrong with taking money from them? Corporations aren't going to throw their money away on a liberal candidate b/c the liberals are going to raise taxes on corporations, which will cause unemployment, a raise in the price of items we buy, and corporations will move to 3rd world countries. Take an economics course instead of a sociology class and you might understand this concept.

  • If you're going to be honest, if you become president you better damned well announce to the world in a public speach wether or not there are aliens at Area 51. It's a serious issue that the US Government has been ignoring for a long time, and the people of the world want to know if there really is a crashed alien spaceship stored in area 51(Among other things.)...

No, I am not joking. There is enough proof that aliens have visited our world and that the US Military has the remains of a UFO.

  • that made my day

    hahaha

    my poor mom..

  • Ann Coulter is a radical. Using her to define all Republicans, or even all Conservatives is unfair. Other countries are taking the wrong view on the American conservative people--not politicians--as radical, stubborn antis who generally crush any kind of change. Conservative Democrats are also getting pounded by radical progressives who want to enact expensive and unnecessary programs that will burden the American people. It is not fair to any of us.

  • John Edwards is a FAG !

  • Please push for the single payer health care system. No more insurance companies. While your at it raise the taxes on the top three percent of the wealthiest and stop this war.

  • john want let god get in the way of getting what he wants.

  • Thanks John for your honesty and integrity. Please save the states from the sanctimonious hypocritical religious nut jobs!

  • Edwards thank you for erasing my comments of truth on your other videos. Thank you for deleting my voice and forgetting my freedom of speech. Can't wait till you have power I wonder what else you will limit or deny. Hopefully global warming will have sent the polar bears to the sahara desert by then. You are a weasel. I do not trust you.

  • Q: john edwards, do you believe in evolution?

  • 1) Maybe the 400 dollars you spent on your haircut could have been sent to the poor, since you care so much for them.

2)Never forget that the Liberals are in charge of the Senate and the Congress.

    3) Liberals want to decrease our military, and want to defund intelligence that could have prevented 911.

4)If our country is attacked again by terrorist, these same liberals will ask if more could have been done to stop them.

  • No one who considers themselves a leader can be silent in the face of the failure that is the Bush presidency. John Edwards does have a plan for America—if you actually want to know, check his site. You want to talk about political manuevering for the Presidency? How about Romney's sudden change of heart on abortion, gay rights, and gun control? Or McCain's dismissal of reality by walking around a Baghdad market with a 100-soldier, 6-helicopter escort and claiming, "See? It's safe!"

  • I'm sorry, i don't see any leadership from this guy. He only attacked the current administration. I don't care about now. I care about the future. Besides this early politicking is really turning me off to the candidates. They seem so eager for power its...sickining.

  • How do you expect him to ignore the current administration when it is so antithetical to his vision of America? It's a contrast that cries out for attention, and if you were actually listening, you would notice both sides of the contrast he draws--a self-important President unconcerned with the opinions or lives of the American people, or an open and honest President who levels with the American people about his ideas for improving our nation, even if he knows they're unpopular.

  • mate, it isnt that the current administration is unethical. Its the political maneuvering that is being done to obtain the presidency. I dont want to see attacks on the current president. I want LEADERSHIP and a plan for America. Currently at this stage only Gavel Romney and McCain are displaying that.

  • you ar so full of yourself! go get another $400 dollar fag haircut with your campaigne money. Is that money well spent John?

  • I was always rasied to say what is nice or Keep your mouth shut. Some of you should try it. Don't complain about a hair cut, there is so much more happening that you could spend your time on. How about Bringing the Troops Home? Speakout more about them.

  • I am really honored to have this on YouTube as I am the one asking the question- I guess I never even thought it would end up here. John Edwards was awesome to see in person- he is a great speaker. I really fell he was honest with his answers and he is a genuine, good person. I hope we are lucky enough to have him as our next President.

  • I'm so glad you're trying to run this term. I wanted you to run for president last term. You have my vote in the primaries.

  • Thanks for leaving the hoopla intro out this go around. Nice Improvement Edwards. By the way Dick and George are acting like they own YOUR government too not just ours.

We are all in this together.

  • I really enjoyed how open the questions were. These answers were very well worded for being off the top of the head.

  • I saw John Edwards today at Everett Community College and he was really nice. If hes reading this, i was the girl who told him that the lady in the wheelchair wanted to meet him! :)

  • Wonderful answers to important questions. Thank you, sir.

  • Here's a clue: send a message to this candidate and then watch your sent box. None of them read anything posted here! It's all a facade to make you believe your voice matters.

  • These are some great answers, thanks for skipping the fancy intro :). I will continue to follow your campaign as well as others :) Best of luck!
