  • I've read the novel and it's interesting to see this adaptation! Thank you very much for your notes throughout as well. (:

  • Little Eva is a bit more (ahem) mature than depicted in the novel.

  • Blaxploitation...Quetin Tarantino loves this :)

  • god awful.

  • But Simon Legree is more well known in "Uncle Tom's Cabin" than Mr. Haley is, so Simon Legree ends up chasing Eliza. Anyway, I like your little liner notes throughout the cartoon. I learned quite a lot about the music and the book on which "Eliza on the Ice" was based. Very interesting!

BTW, has anyone ever read the book? Can you still find it in a modern library?

  • You can find the book in either your local library or your local bookstore. I have read the book so that's how I know.

  • This cartoon was originally featured on "Mighty Mouse Playhouse" back in the 1960's but it was never appear in syndication due to racial stereotypes.

  • This is rare for me to see a Mighty Mouse cartoon with original titles intact.

  • What I MEANT to say, 'rentatrip', was that it was withdrawn from all "Terrytoon" TV packages by the late '60s...

  • This is the one you'll NEVER see on TV, for obvious reasons. Integrating "The Champion Of Justice" with "Uncle Tom's Cabin" was certainly an offbeat idea, and Phil Scheib embellishes his score for all it's worth (as he did in 1941's "Mississippi Swing"). "Our Hero" eventually faced a more traditional "mellerdrama" villain in Oil Can Harry by 1947.

  • Bull - about never see on TV - I grew up watching this cartoon in the late 50's in Los Angeles the hub of the TV industry -

if you are going to give information do it with TRUTH- not racist Bias- this is a cartoon- made during a time when America shared elements of FREEDOM - which no is no longer available- this cartoon which is not bashing negros or blacks- is actually illustrating elements of Justice for minorities thru the super hero Mighty mouse It was "pulled" for political resons

  • What a find! Thanks for the video. The notes are very instructive.
