So this is crown land then? a group of 3 of us are trying to plan a 2 week hiking trip and this looks like a decently ideal spot. Any input? Would you recommend this area of ontario for such a trip keeping in mind that we are on a budget this time. Were basically trying to start a hiking trend that over time, starting in souther ontario we will hike further and further north over many different trips culminating in a 3 week canue trip in a very special spot in western ontario:) but to start smal

2 weeks on this portion of the Ganaraska is potentially too much time. The "wilderness" portion is approx 65Km long one way, but has options for loops and side trips. If you wanted to double back or didn't mind hiking through the non-wilderness portions (still scenic, though not remote) you can extend this trail to a 2 week trip. The whole trail would take awhile to hike, but the QEWII portion is the best part.I suggest buying the guidebook, I have a copy and it is very useful.

where do you park your car usually?

@wtfhellas there is parking on the west side of Head lake at the end of Digby Laxton Boundary rd. If you need an exact location I can send you a map

Would you be able to give me some guidance as to where to find information about this park? My understanding was that people aren't allowed in the park, or rather that there are no facilities available.

@majorkev There are no user facilities that is correct. The park is undergoing management planing right now and crown land rules apply for camping except at Victoria Falls, Hunter's Lake, Robinson Lake and Little Gull Lake where camping is prohibited. There are established portages, and campsites that users can use, though unmarked, just like on crown land. Portages and sites are well used up to Crooked Lake. You can find some info in the management documents on the Ontario Parks Website.
