  • My best friend (practical sister) and her mother (practical second mother haha) want my mom and I to go on a cruise to Hawaii when my best friend and I graduate next year... and my uncle wants to take my mom and I to Hawaii next Christmas... WH-HOOOO!!! I'm totally bringing my dog (who I refer to as Stitch, since she's just as crazy and funny) and dying her fur blue... XD

  • i love hawai'i i wish i am in hawai'i now ^_^

  • i love the polynesian culture. it's really beautiful. so is the language. love this song.

  • this song makes me so happy. i went on a vacation to hawaii a few weeks ago and went surfing for the first time. loads of fun.

  • i dont need subs, it my fave childhood film and i can sing it in hawaiian Yes i am amazing!

  • i sing along to this everyday still lovin it....

  • awuh hawaiian blood <3 proud hawaiian living in Hawaii. jamming to this every morning(;

  • wonderful !! =)

  • @hblakely very true :D

  • And they say French is the language of love! Pfft!

  • @kaygal1998 that's actually Italian :P

  • After moving from Kaua'i 3 years ago, watching this movie brings back old memories <3 East side Kapa'a!

  • Mele Kalikimaka me ka Hauʻoli Makahiki Hou, I am Hawaiian and have been teaching myself the language from my full text Hawaiian Bible. I love being able to listen to the lyrics and know exactly what is being said, even though I'm not watching the english subs roll through. =)

  • @TheDrumking00 Good luck. It's admirable that you really want to get back to those roots before they're lost. Make sure you teach your kids as well. My son is 1/2 Guatemalan and he's learning English, Spanish, and Q'anjob'al (which is his father's native toungue).

  • @hblakely992 Thank you, I am going to need it. It's a very difficult language, mainly because it's nearly dead. You can bet your bottom dollar that I will be passing what I know to my kids, and my grandkids some day. Wow!! Multi-lingual is the way to go in today's day and age. The best of luck with everything!

  • @TheDrumking00 No joke at all.

  • @TheDrumking00 Definitely pass that on. My heritage is very mixed Germanic. I didn't learn a word of German until high school, but my grandfather is fluent in our ancestral dialect. Now I'm trying to learn as many languages as I can. I hate when the older generation doesn't pass on something as vital as language to the younger.

  • @Theroha I was always disappointed in my great-grandfather because of that. He was Cherokee, and fluent in the language, but he never taught it to any of us before he died last year. I decided a long time ago that I'm going to teach my child French and German, so they can learn the languages I DO know. And When I am finally able to learn Cherokee, I'll teach that to them as well.

  • Mele Kalikimaka!

(thumbs up if you learned Hawaiian from Lilo and Stitch) :)

  • my mom is full pacific islander and the scary thing is, she use to hula dance to this song. to me, those are just more bad pictures to keep me up at night

  • i want to sing the words out loud but if i mess up i would feel bad! :(

  • @disneylove44300 That's what learning and practice are for

  • i cant stop replaying this song

  • It was beautiful when I couldn't understand it, and it's even more beautiful when I can. :)

  • Haha it used to bother me how all of the older hula dancers looked dead on like Nani

  • CHRIS SANDERS !!

  • So glad they worked with my school for this song! I mua Kamehameha!

  • I miss my childhood . I always said i wanted to grow up , But i regret it now D:

  • you should have kept the fall >.< i re-watched the movie just to hear this song

  • This is the best scene from the entire movie! :) And it was posted on my birthday.

  • Used to know all the words to this song, Will have to re-learn then.

  • Rough and sometimes a slightly incorrect translation but some of it is good. For example when it says 'Malamalama i Wahine kapu' it should be translated 'light to the chieftess or 'illuminating the chieftess' Overall, good job. Just wondering did you get this lyrics off of a website or did you or a friend interpret it?

  • i wanna bring the girl that i have admired the first time i saw her on Hawaii.

ah she is so pretty ^.^

  • this song is beautiful

  • i prefered when i didnt know what they were saying

  • I LOVE THIS SONG AND LANGUAGE SO BEAUTIFUL

  • NOT TRYING TO BRAG

  • AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN SING THIS SONG FROM BEGINING TO END WITH ALL THE RIGHT WORDS AND HAS A RELATIVE IDEA WHAT THEY MEAN

  • @HALEIWA7 no

  • @HALEIWA7 nope, i can do the same thing

  • @HALEIWA7 of course not. personally i think that is bragging

  • @HALEIWA7 There are a lot of people who can sing this song from beginning to end with all the right words and know exactly what the lyrics mean. These people reside on the Hawaiian Islands

  • the lead singer can sing this song to me all day.....while im shaking it in a straw skirt

  • I feel sorry for the guys and his ice cream, he never gets to eat it

  • Excouse me for being a poor ignorant Indian man, but just a question: This song is dedicated to a person (the king Kalakaua) or to a flower?

  • @Japoguayo1 Ahh, this is indeed dedicated to King Kalakaua. I think it also briefly mentions Queen Lili'ulani in there too. Thank you for being so polite about the question! x)

  • @furby808

    Thanks to you.

  • @furby808 Who are they??

  • @TestimonyAATCC King Kalakua and Queen Lili'uokalani were some of the last reigning monarchs of the Kingdom of Hawai'i. How do I know this? I'm a born and raised Hawaiian

  • Comment removed

  • @Japoguayo1 it's dedicated to King Kalakaua, they were just using a flower as a metaphor

  • r u from Europe? because Europeans spell colors, Colours.. thats how i spell it but thats only because i like to be different

  • by the way at 1:15 the word mamo translates to descendant

  • @snickerz911411 its always been her thing to take random picture of stuff butits funny cause that can never seem to eat his ice cream lol it alway falls hahaha

  • @snickerz911411 sorryfor typing errors, ive been having alot of issuse with y keyboard which iknow sound like a very lame and some-what of a cliche excuse, but i promise i'm not lying.

  • @WendySunVal No, in the clip Lilo took a photo of a fat guy with tan lines and some ice cream, I really don't care about the typos

  • @snickerz911411 oh hahaha ok cause i often get "yelled at" for my typeos so yeah. but anyways i know she does. but he shows up multiple times throughout the movie and that ice cream always falls lol but i don't really know why she took a pic of him.

  • the new disney scares the crap outta me..they should really bring back all of the shows they had before..i mean really??who wouldn't want a blast from the past..i think before they take a show off the air they should do a poll around the places it shows and then decied not just put some new show in and delete another :(

  • @8POLI8 ... where did you come up with this? Not only does it make absolutely no sense, there's no c, b, t, or g in Hawaiian.

  • @SilverSky333 Excuse me, "Mr. Perfection", I'm Italian, I do not know a fuck about Hawaiian, and my comment was meant to be funny :P I guess you are Hawaiian, you can translate it into English for me please? and if you can bring me to Hawaii, Italy these days is falling apart!

  • @8POLI8 Chill out, I wasn't trying to be rude...

  • @SilverSky333 yeah sorry! me too..

  • @8POLI8 Well your joke wasnt funny :) Just sayin'...

  • @TheAlyatay ok, i delete it! ;)

  • @AnimeStargrl15 7 thumbs up says otherwise

  • @killeing

    Only, 8, dude.

  • @AnimeStargrl15 ok thats not helping your cause dude: that means within the last 11 hrs i got another TU XP

  • @killeing

Oh yeah? Well I bet if I put that on the Circle of Life video, it would get more likes. XP Wanna make a bet?

  • @AnimeStargrl15 Your on! if i lose I'll jump off a bridge, and if i win ill jump off a bigger bridge! ...no wait, CRAP!

  • @killeing

XD Ha ha. Well, alrighty, then. There's no bridge near here, so I'll just pretend.

  • @AnimeStargrl15 NOT IF I FIND ONE NEAR ME!....DARN IT! I KEEP SETTING MYSELF UP FOR THIS X(((

  • @killeing i disagree i think the lion king was the best opening ever. much more powerful and serene. this is still amazing, i loved it considering the ocean is where my heart it and i love hawaiin music, but the lion king will always be the best disney opening.

  • @killeing Hunchback of Notre Dame is better but this comes close

  • i love this song sooooooo much.

  • Does Hawaii have an evacuation plan in case of catalytic volcanic eruption?

  • @danAWESOMEcollier What is it brah?

  • @SackFulloApplez1993 Well because magma emitted from volcanoes in the Hawaiian travels very slowly and very regular most of the time, the part of the island will be blocked off. But if it's a violent eruption or alot of toxic gases are given off then the island may be evacuated.

  • @danAWESOMEcollier Would it be one of those situations like in the titanic where there aren't enough planes for everyone so only women, and children would be able to get on? Because I've been thinking of moving down there and I was wondering if I should bring my own plane just in case?

  • @SackFulloApplez1993 Not really volcanic eruption are a part of life and most people would there are regularly practice the procedure, it's like a fire drill

  • @danAWESOMEcollier So you can't expect it to be like Pompeii?

  • @SackFulloApplez1993 No, mount Vesuvius is much more violent and active than the volcanoes of the Hawaiian islands

  • Shoulda left the part where Lilo dots that little haole invader

  • how come the hawiians have japanese eyes? no rascism intended just curious

  • Ice Cream Guy: DAMN YOU ROCKY ROAD ICE CREAM! ONE DAY I SHALL TASTE YOU!

  • @Wolfrunner326 if you haven't noticed, the ice cream is green so it can't be rocky road.

  • @danc343ver Mint Rock Road!

  • Damn I wish I was hawaiian

Is it really like this in hawaii? I'm from Australia

  • @FR33SANTAHAT Pretty much, for the most part anyway...

  • @smada9711 I would give the world to trade places with you or anyone from hawaii for just a week :(

  • @FR33SANTAHAT I don't live in Hawaiian but a friend does... I visited them there. Its really nice.

  • @smada9711 well I'm Jealous of you lol

My mum went there years ago and said it was absolute paradise.

  • You know whats weird the same exact dislikes as the youtube video "Hawaiian Roler Coaster Ride"

  • Ah this song is refreshing. (I am hawaiian)

  • @kittykotomi18 Nope, I am only making refrences to the translated lyrics in the video. :) The lyrics tell the story of the Queen Monarch and their King of Bird Catchers. Only saying how I think the story is beautiful. :)

  • <3

  • Good translation. The only problem I saw is that you didn't translate some phrases. Like the Illuminating Wahinekapu, would be 'illuminating women.'

  • This kinda stuff made me glad I lived in Hawaii for so many years. <3 I miss it.

  • Beautiful Song .... Beautiful Language x

  • You know, I never understood why the guy with the ice cream always had a farmers tan when he never wore a shirt XD lol

  • 0:18 I found pudge

  • Poor guy always drops his ice cream

  • two of those girls arnt even natives!

  • @nutterballful whats wrong with that..

  • 1:56 I l love how in the dance they place their right hand near their chest and then extend it outward, as if showing loyalty to the Her Majesty, the Chiefess of Hawai'i. When I was younger, I always thought it was a beautiful dance with a pretty language. Now I know the language and the words mean so much more, a tribute to Her Majesty and the King of Brid Catchers. <3

  • @Starlightkitty12 u know hawaiian?????

  • Hawaii Five-O + Metroid + Pokemon =Lilo and Stitch

  • NOW I know what this song is about. it's a song about the last king of Hawaii and his sister the last queen :) A beautiful song, I love it :3

  • he's actually saying something! XD

  • every thursday i feed pudge the fish a peanut butter sandwhich!

  • I learned so much from this song! Everyone should look up the references in the lyrics.

  • I use to love this movie when i was a kid, now i'm starting to love it again. :)

  • @danny1819971 are you serious i do that all the time

  • Ohana means family, family means nobody gets left behind. Or forgotten.

  • I loved this show when i was young <3

  • I wish they offered Hawaiian as a second language in high schools :( I would dearly love to learn it! It's so beautiful and pure

  • I love music, and this music is just as amazing, but I found the English lyrics distracting from the pure beauty of the Hawaiian language.

  • i always thought that when the guy dropped his ice cream he would scream for more ice cream

  • Kamehameha School?

  • Its so cool how the guy who designed Stitch is the same guy who designed Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon- you can actually tell by just looking at their faces and personalities.
