This is a modern rendition of Schubert's "Ellens dritter Gesang". It has the overall same theme : a prayer for mercy, guidance and redemption through love. Let's not forget that Schubert only composed the music but the actual lyrics were written by Walter Scott and translated into German by Allen Storck. Ave Maria has been performed over the years to many different lyrics. I think that modern arrangement to the instrumental performance is a perfect tribute to Schubert.!

The way she sang this song was way different from the album version. If she really was lip syncing, she wouldn't have gotten the timing of when she was gonna cut the note perfect at 2:24. 3:10 is also a good indication. Beyonce does deliver great! She doesn't lip sync like Britney cause you could definitely hear that during Britney's performance of Wommanizer, you couldn't hear her singing.

I was at the recording and talked to the manager! Beyonce was very sick and could not sing live on the day of the show...YES she is extremely talented and definitely CAN sing live....However things happen and you have to make other arrangements...SHE IS LIP-SYNCHING!
