wow, notice how first higher section Jackie is trying to sing it as it should be with a degree of deliberately slow yet the choir rushes her along where she then speeds up to catch back up to them....jackie did marvelously..the choir or conductor that was setting the tempo...shame on them. :P

The background music was too loud and at a faster pace. Jakie's performance of the same song in the AGT semi final was the perfect pace and the background singers did not drown Jackie out or out pace her. Jackie still sounds fantastic, but the set up and background were off.

Absolutely beautiful !! Jackie's type of singing are those airy voices .. such as Haley Westernra, Charlotte Church and Celtic Women. Their upper registry sounds great but as far as the demands of Opera where there has to be closure of the glottic opening to meet the demands of such repretroire thats performed at such high level in the major opera houses. Most girls/women have a hard time of closure when transitioning through the passegio, such as men opposite to reach their upper registry.

Unfortunately, all art in the US is converted into dollars and eroded. There are many good things about capitalism. Great art is not one of them. Had she appeared in France, Italy, Germany or Russia, she might be sequestered and trained so she'd have a long and great adult career. Unfortunately in the US and the UK, they turn these people into pop stars by the time they're 17, just as their careers should really be starting. Mediocre pop stars, at that.

@dieseldog00 First off, I would not consider anything about Charlotte Church "tragic." She is world famous and extremely wealthy. She can do anything she wants which does not make much for tragedy. That said, she is no longer an opera singer.

Where Jackie is concerned, she is being toured much too young. She is already celebrated. When her free will kicks in about 16, we'll see where she stands. In a "free country" all bets are off. Teenage millionaires are generally uncontrollable.

Neither Julie Andrews nor Charlotte Church ever had the range that's promised here. Evancho is still too young to tell where her voice will ultimately fall. When she's about 17, we'll have a better idea... if they don't ruin her voice by taking her professional too soon. But she is a very unique talent.

Tickets for her upcoming performance here at Avery Fisher Hall in November are averaging $380 a seat. I echo your wishes. Such a rare talent at such a young age should be fostered very carefully. And there is also the child performer curse that has plagued so many in the past. So far, Ms. Evancho exudes maturity and poise far beyond her years.

As far as I know David Foster has not produced any music from a "fake" singer. I think that, if you do happen to be serious, you should go to any of her performances on the PBS special concerts where she sang a lot of technically difficult songs with a full orchestra and Mr. Foster.
