I was right at South Penn square across from the hall, it was unreal, you couldn't hear yourself think! I was only 15 in 1980, I was at Broad and Snyder back then with my Father and brother, this 2008 parade seemed way louder! They said over three million attended, no doubt, it was a record crowd, streets were backed up on each intersection and all the way down to South Philly, and it terminated at the ball park. We set the standard for big city parades.
