  • I have looked at many videos on how to tie this knot and this is by far the best video I have seen to date... thanks for this! 5* in my book.

  • ... now i know why this video has so many fucking views, fuck you diamond knot.

  • didnt know boy scouts wore thongs; this may explain all the shenanigans that have surfaced over the years...

  • Also, who the hell invented all these fancy knots. That is pretty incredible. It must take a certain kind of creative mind to invent knots...

  • SLOW DOWN!!!

  • I always use the YTSFKTKB's knot lol

  • How would I change this knot to make it into a Fiador knot? I can tie this one almost with my eyes closed (thanks to your video of course :) ) but I am having trouble tying a Fiador knot. Thanks for all the great videos!!

  • Much better at showing how the knot is formed than the St. Anthony method. Also doesn't require 3 ft. of extra cord to do all the wrapping around the fingers.

  • could you use 10mm SOFT COTTON BRAIDED ROPE for decorative knots. I am finding it difficult to find the 1/4 inch solid braided knot on the internet.

  • hello! At first i'd envy you and chose the dislike button - sorry for that!

Know i come back and really learn how to do the Knot correctly. And i am joyfull. Thanks for the good working! Forgive my previous envy, and my english. Thank you very much. Tnks for you exist!

  • EAR/ONS used this same knot as well, using shoelaces or precut cording.

  • This Knot was actually John Wayne Gacy's more common knot found on this victims.

  • Thanks for all of your great videos. Very helpful.

  • after years of not knowing this knot, i am solid!

    thanks!

  • I've been wrestling with this knot for HOURS!! It just now dawned on me that when you form the beginning "carrick bend", you MUST ensure that both bitter ends exit at opposing sides! I kept trying to form it with the bitter ends exiting the same side & I can tell you from experience, it just wont work. I got it now.... Anyway, thanks again JD.

  • @capnklump - You're welcome. Sorry for the struggle. Best to you and all your ties!

  • is there a way this knot csn be modified so that you end up with a loop at each end of the knot?

  • You make beautiful knots. You're very talented, and I admire that, but it would be nice if you would create a series of videos for beginners.

  • AWESOME! AND EXPLAINED CRISTAL CLEAR!!! THANKS.

  • you go really fast and sometimes i have to watch it twice but after i get used to the speed i can easily make any of hte knots that you make (that is if i have enough cord/rope) :D

  • THAT'S A BEAUTIFUL KNOT MATE

  • I like the last name for the knot... heh.. TOO FUNNY!!..

Ive enjoyed your vids.. very cool... If anyone thinks its too fast.. there is such a thing as a pause button.. Hit that little puppy and you can look for as long as you want and you wont feel rushed... Aint technology grand?

    Thanks again for the instructions!

  • this is hard! :,(

  • thats cool but could u do it... slower, perhaps?

  • show us how to tie a double diamond knot

  • JD, I've enjoyed all the videos that you have been posting over these two years and tell you that it's amazing what you do. After creating multiples of the knots and weaves from your video, my favorite way to finish them off is with the Diamond Knot. But I would like to know how one would make a Diamond Knot with another pass through to make it bulkier. It would be greatly appreciated if you could explain how.

  • great job. i am a retired navy boatswains mate and a retired merchant marine bosun i have always loved the diamond knot . it is known by many names yes but some people also call it the british diamond knot. the carrick bend single or double is the root for many beautiful knots. one of the best ones i have ever made was the chinese interlocking carrick bend.

  • I'm not getting this right...could anybody give some tips on how to tighten the things? I think i'm messing up there...

  • Thanks for the vid. Are those blood knots on the bitter ends of your cords?

  • @TIAT: loved the knot. Having done woodbadge, I commiserate with all knotty people. Turks heads slurp wet ones. Keep up all the knotty work. I like the youtubesucksforkickingtwoknottyboys knot name. Hehe.

  • thanks! really wanted to learn how to tie this knot for a paracord survival bracelet! You're awesome! :D

  • I really enjoy this knot and all the detail you put into all your videos. Iwas a Boyscout for years and share your passion for knots. I look forward to the book. Do you have a publisher. I know a good one.

  • tip: try burning (fusing) the ends of the rope so you don't have a knot in your way!

  • hey can you tell the rope length and the rope that you will use so i dont waste a bunch of rope, thanks

  • 550 paracord works best

  • Another great video, but way too fast for me to follow. I needed to keep pausing, rewind, and review.

  • Who is the music by?

  • @OTEP1234567891011 I know the main theme is a song by Led Zeppelin called That's The Way off of Led Zeppelin III Ths seems to be sampled with different parts added to the original composition, because the original has vocals.

  • THIS FRIKIN DUDE GOES TO FAST AT THIS I WANTED TO DO THE MILITARY BUGLE BUT HE WENT SO FAST I HAD HURT MY HAND TRYING TO DO IT!!

  • As a fan of The Ashley Book of Knots, I sometimes find it nearly impossible to follow some of the fancy knot illustrations (never mind memorizing the knot). I would like to compliment you on your exceptionally easy to follow techniques.

Your choice of background music is quite nice too. Big Thumbs Up!

  • @BurningChimaera

    ...

doghouseimages is correct; however, most of my videos show me using 1/4 inch solid braid nylon (what I believe to be the best type and diameter of rope for practicing knots).

    ...

More recently (check my channel) I've been using 450 Paracord (purchased on the web).

    ...

    Hope that helps,

    ...

    JD ~ TIAT

  • I believe he's using nylon rope - home depot has lots of choices in diameters

  • I've seen lots of tutorials and videos on this and couldn't follow. This video made it easy. THANKS!

  • I think I'll call it youtube sucks for kicking two knotty boys off their site knot (sounds fancy) 0w0

  • I am disappointed with this tutorial. Usually you do much better. I got it but what a PITA to keep replaying the thing over and over and over and over...... and over and ... well you get it. Thanks for posting and Holy sh*t pass the Tylenol ;)

  • Thank you for this. Its really hard to follow though. If you slowed down and used two colors or cord it would help a LOT. I'm constantly pausing and rewinding.

  • hey i am a slow learner could you show how to make the lanyard knot slowly...please? thanks in advance

    JD ~ TIAT

  • Your video is cool but what was the knoty boy thing? Was that a joke or something. Like learning new knots, well new to me anyway. Thanks

  • 2KnottyBoys was a channel here on YT that was taken down four months ago. 2KB contributed to the collective knowledge of knots here on this site and their removal was considered capricious.

  • if myspace kicked yous, just join facebook! were very open minded there:-p

  • so i have a screen shot of that factoid and i put it in a myspace album so i could tag the knotty boys - but their profile is gone - looks like they got deleted too. myspace is teh suxxor
