This is such an amazing series! I've always been interested in mechanical computers, but I got stuck when thinking of how to perform logic functions mechanically. It never struck me that the logic gate stage could be skipped completely with these mechanisms!
Also, the compound cams in one of the previous videos reminded me of the books of tables which my dad said he used before calculators were affordable, in that they are effectively pre-recorded information instead of fresh calculations.
