  • do u have to take the motor out ???????

  • can u do a tutorial how to undo the motor and do u have to use the cleaning thing that takes out the water for the dry method ??????????????????? help please

  • When you say to re-clean it after about 30 minutes of run time do you mean the whole process, or just spraying with cleaner?

  • what happens if you dont break it in

  • Awesome tutorial. I've been going brushless lately, but I have an old brushed motor from my Rustler and it has turned to absolute crap power-wise lately, since I've been cleaning it with compressed air. I didn't realize I'm supposed to re-oil it. I used to run nitro so I don't know much about electric motors. Thanks so much!

  • My throttle trim is not working, when i turn it,the motor doesnt run by itself at all

  • Can u use wd-40

  • 2 questions. Could I use wd40 as a lubricant? And second could I just take the motor out if my car and put it in the water and run it at a low speed with stock batt?

  • Do u recommend even for one that says 100% ready to run?

  • Will the under water method work on a Tamiya super stock RZ motor?

  • If I want my motor to last as long as possible dry it every time with the drying stuff after tuning in water.

  • Will wd40 work instead of the electric contact cleaner stuff ad how much are the contact wires

  • @MegaTank123456 I spray mine with a teflon GT85 to clean and lube, much better than WD40. You can get it from Halrords etc.

  • should i raise the throttle up and down during this cycle or keep it at one speed

  • This is a load of crap. Water is a universal solvent and is bad for electric motors, period. You want to break it in? Use it. Use it a slow speed the first two times to allow the brushes to pattern themselves to the commutator without overheating. That's it. Heat, water and dirt are motor killers. As far as oiling a motor with bushings, good luck. The tolerances between motor shaft and bushings are too tight for an adequate amount of oil to get in there. When the clearances DO open its worn.

  • can i use break cleaner t clean my motor or wil it mess it up

  • do i need to break in Brushlees motors as well

  • @letpzero nope

  • Why would anyone use brushed motors?

  • And can I do the hole battery instead of 30 mins

  • Insted

Of using motor oil and the other oil can I use wd-40 for the 2 places ?

  • do the brushless motors need to be broken in?

  • @Rorona550 Nope. Just install and go!

  • does WD-40 work for motor cleaner

  • do u break in brushless motors?

  • @specialformula14 No becuz its already brushless so you dont have to break it in.

  • is it every month got to break the motor?

  • If you take good care of a motor how long would it last?

  • what was the rubbing alchol for?

  • how good is that losi 12 t 550 motor is it better than the titan?

  • @DoomKaiserGliders i curious about something similar. i'm wondering if the Titan 775 10-Turn is better than the 12-Turn 550

  • @MrMetalica11 I think that the 775 motor has more tourqe rather than speed compared to the 12t titan but 12t titan is not good if you need a new motor get the team orion formula pro bb because you can replace the brushes, has ball bearings last way longer. :)

  • I'm new to the R/C world, and appreciate your videos. They're all very helpful. Thanks! Traxxas only endorses breaking brushed motors in by actually driving the car on a level surface at 1/2-3/4 throttle. They wouldn't endorse methods like your's. Why is that? What's the difference? I have a new Stampede that I'm giving my son for Christmas, and I'd like to use your method before giving it to him so it's ready to roll when he opens it.

  • How do you break in brushless motors or do you not have to??

  • How long if you use this process should a typical motor last on average?

  • Get a haircut!

  • how fast will one of those titan 12t go with properly broke in

  • bluzin47

If you put w-d40 in the motor, it will gum up and attrack dirt like carzy! It will definitely affect your performance. Don't do it...

  • could u use white lithium grease??

  • I did the wet with alcohol. motor: Toxic 17x2 by Carson modelsport. and I do it like every 5 to 6 runs. Well thnx to rcnightmare I got it right

  • does it matter if you put w-d-40 in side of the motor??

  • this is really helpful i just happen to have two titan motors that need breaking in

  • I am a new RC driver as well as a owner. I want to change out my motor on my drifter rc but don't understand the wire going across the two points besides the positive and negative wires? Do I need those on my new motor? Or replace it with the same one? Looks like a resistor

  • is the dry method water proofing it??

  • can i water breaken a tekin 35t moter ???

  • where can you get the motor cleaner

  • So use the dry method then rinse it with water? Also is there any way to repair the windings in one of these motors? I'd like to fix the broken one that way i have two of the same motor incase this new one ever poops out on me.

  • What's an equivilent to the motor cleaner? I have no electric motor cleaner and wanted to know what are the chemical contents that are in that so i could find some similar household items that might work.

  • @partinus99 for brushed I guess use just water....

  • @rcnightmare

ive broken one motor in using the wet method let it run on very fast for like 1-2 mins oiled the bearings and now it's got a short in the windings or sumn. One wire in the windings is shorted out so i'm getting it replaced and i dont want this to happen again so i'm doing a lil more research on how to properly break my new one in

  • @partinus99 try the dry method

  • Comment removed

  • @partinus99 could always buy a compressed air duster can to instant dry it. i use it alot to simply remove snow and water after each runs in winter.

  • hi, there, what happen if i dont break-in first and start using rc car. and what does it means by fuel 20% or 30%. which one should i use for my rc car. how many types of fuel are there..

  • @brucevu71 you will damage the motorm and it likely won't last long

  • @rcnightmare: I'm sorry but that's simply not true. I race brushed handout motors and I use one motor every year in my F1 car and it lasts just fine and performs really well. Maybe it is best to do this but to say you will damage it and it won't last long is just incorrect.

  • would wd40 work asa cleaner

  • @fookinmadman I wouldn't recommend using it.

  • can you do the wet methods on a brushless motor?

  • @RoyIniguez yes, we have a video on that.

  • Which is most effective water Or dry

  • @traxxas5308 its kinf of personal prefrence, we like the wet version

  • u just look like the guy there

  • do u work at the hobbytown in g-town? if u do is my piston sleeve in yet?? lol,jk!!!!

  • @jrevoman yes that is him.

  • @rcnightmare so you are calling yourself him??

  • @jrevoman um no? We both shoot the videos. :)

  • @rcnightmare oh,ok

  • @jrevoman :) yea we like to mix it up, he helps on the shoots and driving as well..

  • @rcnightmare thats why i barely ever see him doing the rc help vids

  • does these methods work on modified motors too?

  • @blabloomoo

Yeah you bet! You can take an extra step with Mod Motors (open endbell) by disassembling them to completely clean the inside. Make sure you mark the brushes and timing so it goes back together the exact same way. If your mod motor uses ball bearings instead of bushings make sure to thoroughly clean and relube them seperately.

  • dude that ending clip was really good. and i think BSRC should state his really name instead of his forum name (unless that his personal preference) but yeah this was a great tip that beginner people dont know about and damage their motors

  • @slash4x4lipo do what...break it in? We say it right in the video :)

  • @TheRc4wd yea hes no noob, were lucky to have him, Ill stick to unboxings lol

  • Can I still do this even though I've run my summit? It's new, I've ran it maybe a total of one hour. And what method would you suggest?

  • @robertjdm heck yea.

  • great video guys nice job.

  • @traxxxasdude15 thanks for the kind words.

  • Well done very straight forward.

  • @onefastnitro thanks for the kind words, help spread the word by subscribing and hittin us with a thumbs up :)...we take suggestions...

  • I wish everyone did this before running them hard :/ Break-in is key as with any type of motor. Well done.

  • Does castle sell brushed motors?

  • Hey guy just to let you know if your breaking in a castle motor you dont have to because they are pre-broken in from the factory.

  • im diggin the new guy u got with ya!

  • LOL! Excellent! I sometimes use the water method to clean out stock, non openable, motors. Went to a club meeting without having time to work on my motor beforehand. So I connected it to my 3 cell running in pack with the motor in clubhouse the toilet!!! Hahahaha! I know plain water is not to be recommended, but what the heck? It duly turned the water black with carbon!!! Oops! Don't forget to flush!

  • @wordreet lol this is an awesome story! thanks for sharing...spread the word and subscribe :)

  • @rcnightmare I'm already subbed dude. ;¬)

  • thx for the info!!!

  • always find your videos educational ...keep em comin bud

  • awsome thats what i do with my brushed motors

  • @theeviloneohyes yea it really extends their life...
