If time slows down the faster you get, does that mean you have to age slower? We don't die because of age. The whole "time travel discussion" emerged because of Einstein discovered that time was not constant, as earlier thought - but the speed of light was constant.This means that 1 second of being in space is not nescessarily the same as 1 second on earth.

I would love to travel into the future at least about 30 years, so I can see how my life will be when I get older. Also to see what life will be like in general. I think that's what would give me hope and excitement about the possibility about living a long life.

I read somewhere on a quite serious forum, that some guy time traveled 60 years into the future, and when he came back to the present time, he had only been gone for 1 second. I'm sure there were many other theories around Newton's time and earlier that were used to explain physics but his was the only one out of 10, or 1000 maybe more, that was recognized. The "Grandfather Theory" is why time travel into the past is not possible. Time travel into the future is more possible but only the person performing the feat will experience going into the future if they were able to reach the speed of light.
@ferrariguy25 You obviously didn't watch the video or else you'd know there are 3 possible solutions to the paradox. The most common being that when you go back and change the past, you're actually doing so in a parallel universe and that the original universe remains untouched.. So you actually jump universes so to speak.
Besides, an easy way to think about everything in this world is that there is no past and future, only the present.

As Einstein said, the whole space exists in this present, then even all the time exists in this present. Including future and past! Hence, someone in the future is already travelling through the time. And perhaps, this someone came here, in this our time, seeing us like people from the past !!!!
A part of me always believed time travel can be done. I don't believe we'd be able to go into the past, but with SO much unexplained stuff in this Universe nothing surprises me. It sounds impossible and ridiculous to us now, but come 600 years in the future or something, we might have the technology to actually perform time travel. Heck, technology evolves every day. Each year or so we seem to do something extraordinary and create things that would have seemed impossible 200 or so years ago.

I honestly do not understand why they say that Einsteins rule was nothing can go faster then the speed of light. When the universe is expanding faster than the speed of light. And I always understood the MC in the theory of relativity to stand for mass times the speed of light in a vacuum squared. Meaning The Speed of Light in a vacuum squared or multiplied by itself. I may have misunderstood but if that is a rule it is definitely wrong.

If we were to time travel the ripple effect might cripple the entire universe ,ever timeline we jump to will not only effect that world but our own as well as the past and future .time travel is possible but the effects could be deadly .it surly isn't a one way arrow as they stated ,time is something we use to keep track we perceive ourselves as moving forward all the time but that isn't entirely true .

@ntdnad Not really no, in fact it is probably good for future time travel theory, because it means that it could be possible for people to go faster than light, which would mean we could go even further forward in time than just 500 years. I'm no expert, thats just how it came across to me.

i just have one question. if it would take 44 days to travel 215 years to the other side of our solar system... then it would take another technical 215 years back. then by the time you get back, wouldnt 530 years have past here at earth? our race could have aleady changed dramatically or we could alrdy be extinct etc.

@mkacur1 You're assuming this theory won't be laughed out of existence. I'm sure there were many other theories around Newton's time and earlier that were used to explain physics but his was the only one out of 10, or 1000 maybe more, that was recognized. It was only recognized because it was the most accurate. Its unlikely that something as complex as physics was guessed right on the first try.

I guess everyone's hear the latest breakthrough as of a few days ago saying time travel may be possible at least at a subatomic level.
I wonder if something I've stumbled across could open new doors in scientific research. If you follow my link to see my first upload "Witness a Miracle" you'll see what I'm talking about. The "Grandfather Theory" is why time travel into the past is not possible. Time travel into the future is more possible but only the person performing the feat will experience going into the future if they were able to reach the speed of light.

@ferrariguy25 You obviously didn't watch the video or else you'd know there are 3 possible solutions to the paradox. The most common being that when you go back and change the past, you're actually doing so in a parallel universe and that the original universe remains untouched.. So you actually jump universes so to speak.
Besides, an easy way to think about everything in this world is that there is no past and future, only the present.

everything could be possible, but then in my mind rises a curious question.. if in a far future, the time travel towards the past might be done then, it could also mean that it's already done. As Einstein said, the whole space exists in this present, then even all the time exists in this present. Including future and past! Hence, someone in the future is already travelling through the time. And perhaps, this someone came here, in this our time, seeing us like people from the past !!!!

A part of me always believed time travel can be done. I don't believe we'd be able to go into the past, but with SO much unexplained stuff in this Universe nothing surprises me. It sounds impossible and ridiculous to us now, but come 600 years in the future or something, we might have the technology to actually perform time travel. Heck, technology evolves every day. Each year or so we seem to do something extraordinary and create things that would have seemed impossible 200 or so years ago.
