  • I see comments about Ian Anderson being a Christian. Do you'r research, watch interviews with him and you will know what I do. Ian and I believe the same way. We do not NAME our faith. It is deeper than the pigeon hole of Christianity. It is the Spirit within and how to express it in our own "Authentic" style. Open Minded is a most valuable tool.

  • this is not secret song... it is called Fire At Midnight and it was released in the album Songs from the woods

  • a broken gun beneath the bed

  • Beautiful, beautiful song! Wonderful album.

  • One of the best Tull songs - few words but utmost meaningful

  • How is this song secret? I imagine every Jethro Tull fan in the world knows this song quite well

  • Original, uforgotten sound...super!

  • Fire at Midnight

  • I am 51 years old, One of the first albums I ever bought and for some reason this song still brings a lump to my throat. Always loved it.

  • Incrível o rosto que esta escondido atrás, na paisagem do quadro.... o caldeirão é a boca...

  • As Ian once said " I try too paint a picture with words when I write a song"; and that's exactly what he's done here.

" A golden toddy on the mantle; a broken gun beneath the bed.

Silken mist outside the window-Frogs and newts slip in the dark,

    Too much hurry ruins a body;

I'll sit easy; fan the spark""

  • The Secret is, Ian is a man of strong Christian Faith but also believes in that which is mystical and/or Spiritual. Much of which is considered *taboo* by main stream religion. He finds Harmony and Truth by thinking with an open mind. (Hint, Hint. Wink, Wink)

  • I never knew he was of strong Christian Faith, but he has made statements that made me think, such as "I never used drugs and groupies wasn't for me either". Among others.

  • @settlebrrd One doesn't need to eschew recreational drugs or noisy groupies to be Christian. I've never used drugs nor enjoyed rowdy crowds myself and doubt anyone would define me as having "strong Christian Faith." Check the album _Divinities_ and songs like _Songs in the Wood_ or _Dun Ringel_. After long listening I'm quite convinced he's what we might call "British Native Reconstructionist."

  • @settlebrrd Why would you think that made him a Christian????? Very bizare thought process you have.

  • @Elibobbob I did not think he was a christian, I was replying to a comment that said he was. @lakotabob

  • Very nice pic. but why secret song?

  • Got my hopes high...but no secret here

  • No secret foo.

  • Ummm.... This isn't secret...

  • Secret? That's Fires at Midnight from Songs from the Wood album O.o

  • This may be folk, but it is NOT country.

  • ian just does music so well. phenomenal man. rare.
