  • he is confusing the sai for a fork. put some nachos on the sai and try again fatso lol

  • Resheathing his Wakisashi the wrong side up =]

  • I'm using a gun.

  • @LordHannigan You would need to.

  • @OneTrueEdge Personal choice really.

  • I think I've learned more from the angry comments then from the actual video.

  • the size of these two guys disgrace the beauty of the japansese technics.

  • Gotta say to the stooge, WTF is going on with your hair. Also, you can actually buy belts in different sizes. Get one that fits, you look a disgrace. Especially if you are gonna post over the Internet !!!!

  • why is all expert village completely novice? i was watchin expert village for taekwondo, it was garbage!!

  • fat guys and weapons..good combo

  • I thought he was going to show us how to use Sai to open a bag of cheetos

  • fat asses have watched to many anime series or and played to many video games they just broke in a dojo and made a video

  • This guy doesn't wear the Katana correctly

    Doesn't use the Katana correctly

    therefore can't sheath it correctly

And the Fake Jujutsu/Ninjutsu master. Doesn't know the Sai is a OKINAWAN weapon... not Japanese.

    Please take these videos down.

  • @BlackShinobiShozoku

Isn't Okinawa part of Japan? I know that back then the mainly Japanese used the Jute instead of the Sai. Is that what you mean when you say the sai is Okinawan and not Japanese?

  • @dagashi84

Okinawa is now apart of Japan ever since Japan took it over. But Okinawa has it's own history which is independent of Japan. Since Okinawa used to be independent country before Japanese took it over. Karate is Okinawan, and recently came into Japan through Gichin Funakoshi.

  • @BlackShinobiShozoku

Right! Got it! Thanx for the explanation.

  • When useing a katana u have to have a space in between the two hands...that way there is more movement

  • I think this is interesting, how the sai developed into a weapon. I have been wandering, which one has the advantage: a professional sai fighter, or katana wielding warrior?

  • @anonsurferguy If my teaching was accurate, I was taught that the sai was the only Okinawan weapon that originated as a weapon as opposed to the others like the nunchaku, kama and tonfa. I personally love the sai even more than a sword. I think they can defend against a huge array of attacks, unlike the sword. I have a feeling that the sais got their reputation as sword breakers for a reason. The early Japanese "police" used a version of them (jutte) to break a samurai's sword.

  • @MorteWulfe : Ok, sensei, At least you seem to like te Sai. ... Why i asked is because i want to know, "What is the best edged weapon for home-defence?". Katana is probably too long and bulky for tight/narrow quarters inside a building.

  • @anonsurferguy I personally think that a guy wielding two sai against a guy wielding one katana has a tremendous advantage. If you got a budding Musashi using two swords, well then things might get tricky : / In a cramped house, sai rules. Outdoor against one katana, sai rules. Outdoor against multiple katanas, maybe a toss up.

  • @MorteWulfe of course the japanese sword can't defend well it's basic two-handed aproach makes it an offense only weapon

  • Why does every black belt guy have to make some stupid videos?? And why are they always fat ??

  • wow the afro samurai guy fails lol hes only a yellow belt too so tht explains it

  • Clown one defending aginst clown two with a sword neither one knows how to use a sword obviously. Using this technique against a sword results in death for the silly sai weilder.

  • u should learn something about katana, like that sharp part of the blade is pointing to you not to the flor... fat ass :P

  • Amazing, two seriously overweight martial artists. Fantastic. Welcome to america

  • The sai is not necessarily a farm tool...why the hell does everyone say that it HAS to be a farm tool. They were found in India and China and buddhist items, because they looked like a human figure...Jutte on the other hand is Japanese...

  • @brasshandmartialarts

At last someone who has knowledge of weapon history.

Alot of weapons in ancient times did have to be disguised andnot just in fuedal Japan.

  • @brasshandmartialarts It's because all other weapons of Kobudo are farming tools. What most people neglect however is that the other weapons are made out of wood (except the kama [sickle], which had a blade). The sai stands out because it obviously was not used by farmers but by people who had actually a lot of money at hand.

  • @GaolisVideoLog

Kama was as much a fishermans tool as it was a farmers tool. They would use the kama to pull their boat into the docks, and the bo was also used at times to push off from the dock.

  • @brasshandmartialarts Ah, i didn't know they used the Kama for pulling boats to the docks. Very interesting. Thank you.

  • xxx-tra large ninja

  • The sai are Okinawan, these guys are clueless...nuff said.

  • whoah fat guy 0_0

  • Why are they fat if they are a black belt and yellow belt... does fast food come with the training!?

  • Cool cool.... but someone has to teach him how to wear the scabbard right.... for crying out loud it's causing actual physical pain to me... :S

  • @dagashi84

Dont worry, its probably not even a real sword. I can tell by the handle wraping and the scabbard. Yes, that shouldnt matter, but ive never seen a sword that looks like that and met the standards of a true nihonto.

...but its still painful to watch. I cant stand it when people put a katana on a sword rack with the edge facing down, handle facing right. Its painful.

  • @LotusDragon09

Maybe he's just naturally rude and aggressive to all his guests? ;)

  • A sai vs a ninja weapon along with kunai, shuriken, ninjato ect it was used to break a sword used buy the samurai but it was very difficult to break tamahogany steel

  • afro samurai lmfao!

  • The other guy has no idea of how to use a katana.

  • @rfnxct and the instructor has no idea how to use a sai.

  • Yes they look like farmers... and they are tools.. flip the saya, it's killin' me!

  • He doesn't even wear the katana right... Just an example of skill-lessness...

  • why the f**k

    isnt it working

  • is the sword tiny or is he fat?

  • samurai swords and sais are cool but my purpose to this friends is ''a low calorie diet..''

  • interesting but his sai movements are you obvious... he puts too much effort into the movement.... or maybe thats just how he does it to show people?

  • These weapons are antiques against modern warfare. They are studied out of respect of mans ability to grow to the occasion for preservation. The Mongles did have M16 or granades. They faught with their hands to servive. I respectfully doubt that an army of modern martial art instructors elected from the dojos of USA cities could go against the Roman armies or other ancient warriors armies. Their power came from a different heart.

  • @oldpython okay m8 just a heads up... most wepons used were not invented to build an army... say the bo staff, it wasent ment for an army... it was a farmers way of defence. they had no choise but to find a way to defend themselfs. if your stuck in a famr house with no m16 acr ar15 or any othe rmodern day AR what would you do? find a way how to make a broom stick into a leathal wepon

  • @oldpython maybe their "power" came form military real life training, not going to the training studio twice a week after work....

  • larga los postres gordo grasa, te tiene que dar verguenza porque no tenes nocion de lo que estas esplicando esto es una estupides comercial yanki gordo dejate de robar

  • good techniques taught here. its just that the method of teaching isn't quite effective. notice how the student with the sword draws the katana with out any regard for the instructor. no discipline at all. if i drew my sword that way in front of my sensei, he'd beat me silly or even toss me out of the dojo.

  • um...dumbass this is an instructional video which means he probably told the dude to withdraw the sword at that point of the video so that viewers could see what it looked like before the demonstration

  • dumbass? did you just call me a dumbass? i bet that makes you feel really superior and all. good for you. you're pathetic. you don't get what i'm pinting out at all. you're just making an excuse to call somebody a dumbass. ignorant prick.

  • um...why am i listening to rednecks teach me how to wield traditional japanese weapons? this is total bs

  • canuck they are fighting with sai's which are farm tools, rednecks are able to use these as deadly device's because we farm... you however i doubt could successfully dress yourself for feild work. stick to your keyboard northern foot.

  • okay, 'cept fer ya kinda mised tha fact dat i cud care less 'bout ye livin' on a farm an' ah don' do 'ny "feild" wurk as yeh call it.

All I care about are Japanese weapons and the proper way in which they are handled, but I don't expect yeh to undershtaynduh

  • you are right...btw these sai (zai) are not farm tools they where a original ninja weopon in japan

  • you're an idiot because there was no proof that ninjas ever existed

  • Who's the Idiot? Ninja never existed? As a former RESIDENT of Japan for several years and having studied Japanese history I can assure you Ninja DID in fact exist and were very successful in what they were hired to do. While the Ninja of today's movies and video games did not exist... Ninja were in fact a very real part of a 15th century Daimyo's martial arsenal against his enemies! From 15th-18th centuries...approx. BTW...There is a great Ninja Museum in Koga prefecture...lost of history.

  • sonickill, sais were originally farm tools

  • @sonickills

I don't think there is any evidence to suggest shinobi no mono (ninja if you must) ever used sai. I have read the densho of a number of the ryuha practiced by shinobi no mono and sai are never mentioned. To the best of my knowledge sai were a weapon used by karate-ka and I've been told they were used in sets of three, not two as seems to be the case these days.

  • No way it´s going to work that way. I´m doing Kenjutsu for several years now and I can say that someone fighting with a katana would not let his blade being captured like that. You don´t thrust and then stay put, hell no! What a waste!

  • in 1:10 - 1:13 was that a sound affect or did he actually cut through the air

  • Effect.

  • If you watch it closely, he hits his lapel mic, and it makes that swooshing noise

  • Ten-thousand fold katana is a myth, metal can't be forged that way.

That's covered in italian book "Soul of a sword" (or something like that). Yes, europeans possessed that technology too.

  • ou don't cut through the blade you smash it.

  • ok, that was not a Tachi, turn the blade upwardsman..., please...! ^^'

  • got any techniques to break the katana???

  • u can npt brake a katana sary the steal is way to good mabye a stainless steal one ^_^ but cool idea but the worst u can do is bent the sword

  • okaes kool thanks ^^

  • np ^_^

  • You're not gonna break the katana, it was designed to be immovable that's why the hand positioning is the way it is. The only thing you're gonna do is make them spin, bring about the katana and cut the shit outta you.

  • ur a retard why dont u post a positive comment?!!

  • Raphael did it on 2007 TMNT Movie! Go Raph!

  • yeah... go Raphael!! Turtle Power! dang i luv the sai!! :)

  • is this a joke?

  • I'd like to point out that if a samurai threw a downward strike at you and you tried to STOP it with the sai, you would actually be left with a jutte, because it would go right through you are supposed to guide or deflect it away from the body, like he said that Katana is sharp as hell.

  • I doubt its sharp enough to cut through 1/2" of steel.

  • I doubt you know how strong a ten-thousand fold katana is.

  • everything still follows the laws of physics, the human body simply cannot give enough force to let a katana make that cut.

  • please when you show any demo, think about the get up and how to put the katana in obi,, heheh you sword shoud be down side not up and down and when you meet any samurai so dont forget about wakazashi and tendo coz they are very sharp too, hehehe

  • Bruce Lee said it himself (OR IN RELATION COZ i CAN'T REMEMBER)... You can't fight efficiently with a 50-100 pound weight in your belly. Those who got affected, sorry dudes but it's true. Bruce himself said it... and also it's logical.

  • i like the way you explain this, very well done, but you have to remember this does not work if you have a weak Sai, there were many copies off the Sai and were not as strong as the real ones, a fake Sai Vs a real Samurai sword, the person using the Sai would lose his hand, so make sure you have a good weapon and this will work most defiantly, agin i like the explanation especially the thumb bitt.

  • Although there is a way of not breaking your sai.Maybe you can slide down the katana caught with your sai so it wont be a direct hit.(with both real katana and sai). But you must be veeery skilled and fast

  • when the hell are you

going to get into a sai, katana fight?

honestly.. so it's just cool to learn.

not actually think of using it

  • i wouldnt say this if there wasnt "Learn how to use a Sai to block and disarm a katana blade in this free online video on martial arts weapons training. " explanation on the video.

Of course you wont walk around in your city or neibhorhood(srry about spelling) with a katana on your back.People will think you are a freak.

  • Yeah..... You put it on your waist^^.....

  • how is possible that with one sai will block a katana???try that in a combat and your sai and arm will be cutted on a half ...

  • why wood you wanna do that when you can just nick him on the hand after all you dont wanna kill the poor dude

  • or you could just stab himin the heart

  • ..his sai seem small compared to mine..

  • Why why why why why why..

They are "pros" at martial arts

yet they weigh about 18 stone of pure fat

    fucking wastes..

  • "traditional sais"...rotfl. Blocking with just one hand is a suicide. At least he could use both his sai to block instead of using the left one to do useless-american-shit. Man...nowadays it's really hard to find a good MA teacher. Too many incompetent guys around. No good. No good at all.

  • where can ppl get weapons like on the internet or something

  • thats not how you harness a katana

  • they wanna do martial arts, yet they're overweight :P

  • thats not bad the would lose wieght.

  • whats with the belt?

  • that sword is upside down!!!!

hahahahahah!!!!!! what a funny moment. hahahahahahaha!!!!!!

  • lol thats true i thought something was wrong

  • He makes the look easy and sound easy, but if he was faceing someone in real life, the person is going to react.

  • wot a couple of fat idiots the sword was up the wrong way, none of the attacks were like a samurai.Just more americans playing around.

  • its not a katana its a wakazashi (short sowrd)

  • The older Katana called Tachi was worn that way, they have bigger curve which is unpractical to wear the other way.

  • Anybody hear a whoosh sound at 1:12?

  • note where his mic is and where his left hand and arm are at that point...it's simply his gi rustling as he makes that block.

  • ....why is he wearing the Katana upside down?
