While all you budding audio enginneers try to figure out the amount of FLANGE AND HOW IT GOT THERE- THERE AINT NO FLANGE ON THE ORIGINAL TRACK. This apparrently is some digital anaomalyBS in the down load. 1958 Washington DC recording technology didn't feature effects. They were lucky to get this down on one track in a disused office in downtown DC.

Listen to this one on vinyl,junior audiophiles.

The drum sound in part was achieved by miking the bass drum from the rear.

When recording a mono record with a microphone please turn the stereo to mono and either take the wires for all the speakers out but one, or adjust the balance so only one is playing. This flange effect is a short (less than 20 1/1000 of a second delay) that gives this annoying effect to the whole song. My original sounds nothing like this abomination. The dual sound amp has two different preamp channels, and the guitar a few tones to chose from. F. Link Wray got great sounds from budget gear!

There could have been a microphonic tube in his amp, or the engineer was a moron or both. This deffinately has around a 2-20 millisecond delay from somewhere. It is not a great flange but more of a long dry one or short dry chorus effect. Maybe the DA converter when putting this on the web was messed up. I will either A dig out my 45s or B buy this again and see if the record is this weird sounding. Poor preamp tubes can give that weird effect, and i usually yank them and put in a replacement.

Damn there is so much wow and flange on this I feel like I just did a huge hit of some drug. It is certainly a flange effect from what I am not sure. Maybe listening while recording, Who really knows, but that sound bugs the crap out of me. I always hated cocaine and this sounds like I just did a giant line of the best around, or a large IV blast. To make matters worse the water is running in the bathroom too. I aint paying the damn water bill this month! This recording is faulty like the toilet

I can't imagine any other track opening `Flamingos' - just nondescript enough to do so (`Surfin' Bird' as used in the party scene was immortalized by it too.)

When I first saw it in NYC in 1972, a friend asked me when it was over if I liked it. I just said, "I don't know, I have NO idea what I just saw".

I had already seen Divine in the stageplay `Tinsel Tarts In A Hot Coma' but nothing could prepare one for this!

The `repeat viewing' Waters movie for me is `Female Trouble'.
