Look people I know what it's like to live with a narcissistic mother and every thing Christina is saying about her mother Joan Crawford I can relate to. What people don't understand is that her twin daughters was used but they can't see it. Joan only love herself and she used her children for her image and reputation. Joan used the twins to counteract of what Christina and Christopher would say about her. Joan know what she did was wrong and she used the twins to cover up her abusive ways.

@MrPoppinbottles123 i too can relate.. There was some ghosts (or demons) from her childhood that she seemed to be running from her entire life.. I wonder what might have happenned had she gone into therapy to deal with her pain. She used control and rage (and perhaps the emotional outlet of acting out feelings) to deal with her pain. And it seems she would target emotionally volnerable people, including her children when she could no longer control her emotions, especially when in public.

If people actually read "Mommie Dearest," they will realize that it began as Christina's journal -- her diary. She wrote it to help her come to terms with the insanity of her mother's alcohol-fueled narcissism. Christina says over and over in the book that she loved her adopted mother, and was terribly hurt that it wasn't reciprocated. People who say Christina did a hatchet job on Joan Crawford because of envy or spite are fools who swallow the sanitized, calculated Hollywood image.

Most of what was told in "Mommie Dearest" happened before Cindy and Cathy came along, so how would they know about any abuse Christina or Christopher went through?
