it doesnt matter which you prefer. you wouldnt be able to choose a preference if it werent for bob dylan so give credit where credit is due. you may prefer this or jimi's over dylan's but dylan is the only reason there are so many versions to choose from and that my friends is a beautiful thing.
@D3m0nhunter719 Well, you can't really say that it's better then, you can say you prefere it. Bob Dylan is a living legend, one of the biggest in the 20th century. I think it's all about personal preference. I prefer Hendrix.
why is nature so unfair ? the guy is brilliant creator, revolutionnary guitare player, amazing singer, & good looking.... I'm just plain jaleous of the guy... wish he was still amoung us...
You can have the sheet music in hand, the crazy DAEEAA tuning perfect, this video to watch, the palm muting nailed, the percussive harmonics down to a T, and still not make it sound this awesome. Michael Hedges...A GOD
That is so true, LIONSTRONG4242... I've tuned my guitar that same exact way and tried to mimic the sound, but to capture the feel and the essence of Hedges is simply impossible. I just love it too much..
No pretty darn sure. They crowd cheers at the exact same spot when he starts singing. Plus it really is the exact same right down to his vocals. Great version either way. I love this interpretation above all others, even Hendrix'.
I saw him on this tour at RED ROCKS in colorado. he brock his strap doing this song and never stoped untill the end. He was a god!!

Trying to decide between this and the Hendrix version is like choosing between steak and pizza.

@D3m0nhunter719 You can't compare Bob Dylans version to this, it's so different. I'm sorry.

@snakeweirdo
I am aware, but it's so much better regardless.
Personally I hate Bob Dylan, I love Hedges though.

I respect Bob Dylan, but I hate his music.

He bears a striking resemblance to Brian "The Head" Welch.

True very true---the best that we can hope for is to play this tune in the spirit of Michael Hedges....

This version sounds just like the album, no improve or anything.
Must have been before he got bored with three chords.
