  • We have them as well as wild Macaws here in South Florida.

  • who is more dominant the quaker or the suirrels?

  • I have 2 quakers I've had for ?5 years.I love them with ALL my heart. The male is a cool dude (Archie) ,the female is soooo anti everyone. She reminds me of Hillary Clinton. Her name is Edith.I already have 2 conures,2 cockatiels, and a A.Grey.I was thinking of driving to where ever quakers hang out and let mine go.For 2 reasons.1. I know in my heart they will be happy to be with their own kind and FREE.And the mess they make because I let them free in my home.Any suggestions ?

  • LMAO all those different breeds of birds are so close to each other, and quaker parrots DO cause a lot of drama! My quaker parrot Summer always does that to his toys. -.-

  • I'm from Brooklyn myself and I Love these parrots. I see their nets around Ave I and ext to Brooklyn College. Great Vids keep it up

  • i have a quaker that i rescued from a wacked out tennet he controls EVERYTHING if you dont give him a peice of chillie pepper right when u walk in,... ur in 4 it

  • I love how the pigeons couldnt care less about the fightng

  • Man i love your vids, makes me jealous. We don't have them here in Nova Scotia but who knows. Go parrots go!!!!

  • shit just went down! ohhhh think one of em got shanked

  • How did you ignorant fools give this guy a -4 and the guy who said "their cool" a plus 2??

  • i have one of these parrots

    their cool

  • Lovable and amusing a piece of happening on a little spot of God`s creation. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to have this video among my channel`s favourites.

  • Quakers are great pets too, they are smart and learn to talk quickly. They are pushy for being like 3oz, they will sit on your shoulder and take food as your eating it even though you they still have their own dish.

  • Unfortunately, my area in Brooklyn had a parrot nest on every single Con Edison transformer pole. (power company). The parrots are now gone, and have been gone for about 3-4 years. They think that bacteria had gotten into the nests somehow, so this entire area is not PARROTLESS. which really sucks, cause they would hang out in my yard, eating the crab apples from the tree behind my house. I wish they would return. Personally, I think Con Ed had something to do with it, but it can't be proven.

  • Truly cool. I like that when the squirrel showed up and one of the Parrots started staring at it as if to say "what is that?"

Nice to see species getting on with each other.

They dont push out native species. All species arived from some where else at some stage any way. Some rain forests for example have thousands of different species, after a while say about 30 years you get a natural balance.I call it Natures Way. Nature is Amazing!

  • wow those are really cool birds

  • are they feral there? or native ?, nice and interesting vid. check my video of conures, if you wanna to. :)

  • This is very cool! Love it! "Can't we all just get along?" "Wha'dya mean? This is us getting along!"

There's an ornithologist in The Birds who says that birds of different species don't flock together...which is odd that Hitchcock had that because every birder knows birds hang out together, regardless (well, the predators...that's another matter) but these little veggie lovers...

    Anyway, thanks for sharing.

  • i just saw 3 quakers in long island ny awesome

  • It would have been really cool if they would have ganged up on the pigeons or the squirrel

  • I have 2 in my backyard, and it is winter outside. They seem very happy.

  • Not to be mean but.....Quaker's in New York?????? There not even native animals!!! I see them all the time here in Florida and I always wonder if it would be the end to other birds who actually belong in the state.

  • Quakers have lived wild in various parts of the country (mostly urban areas, I think) for quite a while now--for decades in parts of Chicago. I'm not aware of any cases where they've pushed out native species. We actually once had a native parrot in North America, the Carolina parakeet--extinct since probably 1918. Maybe these little guys step into the niche the Carolina parakeet once occupied.

  • Sweetaznchic62102 I understand what you say but all species arrived from some where else at some point in history. After about 30 years Nature finds its own balance."Natures Way". You did have native Parrots there a couple hundred years ago.Think they migrated away for some reason about the turn of last century or some thing. Will try and find some info out! I dont think they will push others out as they are not particularrly aggresive feeders etc etc. Most seed eaters get on.

  • i got a green quaker 2. nd yea she used 2 fight with her brother ALL THE TIME! lol.

  • awe! look at all the little stewies!! i play this vid for my quaker and the sound drives him wild :)

  • Quakers run wild here in florida. when they fly by in formation, it's the loudest freaking thing ever

  • These birds are incredible one of the few that can adapt to the climate and survive if they escape captivity.

  • i got a quaker parrot and it never done it 2 me

  • there are alot of wild quakers in miami theyre really loud and annoying and my quaker at home is even more loud and annoying, but theyre cute so they make up for it

  • aww cute

  • Those parrot are better off to live in their native tropical land

  • LOL my quaker would get his ass kicked his to friendly to fight !

  • I'v got 1 of these, its name is hazel, and all in all its a nice smart bird, doesnt bite pple, knows how to talk a little, but if its defending something (food, cage, toys) hes 1 of the toughest little critters i'v ever seen, he made my bodybuilding, footballplaying cousin roll around on the floor whining aobut how he doesnt want the birt to hurt him becasue he punched the cage while the bird was in it.

And all the while the bird is sitting on the back or a chair laughing like spongebob

  • Wait they live wild in Brooklyn? I've had one for years and didn't know that did people just let them go and the muliply? I didn't even know they could live in the cold like that. Wow I learned somthing new today

  • Birdies!! Chirp chirp chirp! Tweet tweet tweet! Cheap cheap cheap cheap tweet tweet chirp chirp!! Cheap cheap cheap cheap tweet tweet chirp chirp Cheap cheap cheap cheap tweet tweet chirp chirp!!!

  • LOL those quakers are HARDCORE must be the ny in them lol lol...love it <3 too cute

  • dont mess with no quaker thay will bite a plug out yo ass.

  • LMAO!

  • I have one. It would be cool to see them in the wild like that.

  • that would be so interesting to go and see!

  • Alright, if you guys look real close at this video you can see that the 3 Present Species of birds are all Invasive Non-Native Species.

  • well ain't that great for them, and actually quakers are indigenous to the areas aroun the carolinas and have habits of migrating

  • I agree. I would prefer seeing cardinals and blue jays in that video. Nothing is wrong with parrots, pigeons and sparrows, but they don't belong here, and native North American birds shouldn't have to compete for resources with these birds that have been introduced here.

  • I was just thinking about that 2....pretty scary in a way.

  • Ive got one. He could NEVER survive out in Brooklyn.

  • they look so adorable, especially when they fight each other.

  • rumble brooklyn style. put a rat in the scene and it will be complete

  • I wonder if these things could live in Poland. I'm thinking of buying and realesing them

  • Why would you do that? Domesticated birds cant survive in the wild!

  • @ZumbaByTania

actually Quakers are very good at adapting to any environment. "Human" urban settlements dont bother them. They can adapt better than other "domestic" birds as you say. Thats why they are illegal in some US states (because they adapt so well and increase their numbers very quickly)

I wouldn't be surprised if he(theTeabag) took them to Poland and Quaker colonies sprang up in Wroclaw or Warsaw or wherever in Poland he is from.

    Quaker parrots are incredible/smart/adaptable

  • That's really bad idea because they would be competing with the native animals that do belong in Poland.

  • We have some wild parrots in Whittier, California too. They might be Quaker Parrots, they're green and sound very similar. They like to get into the large pecan tree in my backyard during the fall, but they can't open the nuts and end up just pelting the roof with them. It's like they're throwing rocks at the house!

  • LOL

  • It is no wonder that these feral types have been able to flourish in NY, Quakers are pretty smart!

  • My Quaker parrot appeared in my backyard one summer, I made friends and brought her inside when the weather got colder. She was someone's escaped parrot, but she would never tell me where she came from.

  • Is this real? I have never seen so many Quaker Birds in one spot except for the bird store?

  • Adorable.

  • Aren't they amazing? They kinda remind me of some people I know....

  • Could be, CinBad27. Although Chicago (where there are also wild quakers) is a lot closer than Brooklyn!

  • Hey,quaker parrots in Brooklyn, now? I hear they came from S. America. I had one that escaped one Oct. in Indiana.Maybe she`d made it,afterall.

  • great video i have a quaker myself & i must say its amazing to see how they interact in the wild plz post more videos like this

  • Thanks much! I'll definitely be out there next weekend with my "wild quaker cam" and will be getting more online ASAP!

  • thats fantastic!!

  • See the squirrel?

  • Check out what happens about 1 second after the squirrel appears. One of the main "instigating" parrots, who is clearly holding a major parrot grudge, enters from the right, and races right over to bite the other parrot. It's truly brazen behavior!

Guys - can we get along? Nope: this is Brooklyn, after all: what's more fun than a good street fight?

I'm just glad that I've never actually seen any serious injuries.

  • Some of them must be from New Jersey. "HEY, ARE YOU TALKIN TO ME? YA WANNA PIECE OF ME"?

  • Yes. There's one very tough-looking bird in there (he shows up in the "parrots in the snow" clip as well) who reminds me of Joe Pesci.

  • They are beautiful! What a joy to see!

  • Amazing and beautiful

  • Another great video.
