Hey "Fire Marshall Bill". I couldn't guess what the symbolism behind this author's posting means....I'm just glad she posted it...relax, it's about the SONG, Dr Phil...not the barn burning down!.....So like what's your philosophy re the Talking Heads and "Burning down the house"? Hey Smokey, you're making a huge assumption here,if this video is proof of arson, your volunteer fire dept oughta start with those KKK crosses first.Take your helmet and boots off and just enjoy the song!

Now I am a pastor with a home and a wonderful Savior who gives me everything I want. I used to be this terrible person, then I gave my life to Christ. Now I have EVERYTHING that every member of Fleetwood Mac wanted and never got: Peace and love. I can show you how to get it. Pastor Jim Harrelson, Spring Church, St. Louis, Missouri, USA
Yeah it is kinda tricky at first. And it's one of those songs you're almost guaranteed to never hear anyone play it exactly the same as another. But if you got the feel forthe song and diggin it the pickin while just come to ya after you've memorized it all.
This song reminds me of the two times I was homeless because of careless living. I then told myself I would never let that happen again. The lyrics suit that resolve.
Does anyone remember a TV movie from about this time in 1990 that used this song? I believe it was about a young girl, raised in a strict household, that became a centerfold model, or something like that. Does that ring a bell?
sounds remotely like something i was kinda watchin last night... it was a girl who was like, raised in a nutter home.. and then left and became a sectretary i think.
lol. i dont know the name anyways but thanks for reading =)
lindsay buckingham is so brillant, i love thi s tune, i love the mandolin playing and his voice, i remember the rumuors album my aunt had when i was little, and rwewinding it to this song and listening over and over again
Actually..this song was not played on a mandolin. Its a guitar, I saw him play it live twice. The sheet music is available for it. I think Lindsey was playing an Ovation but I could be wrong. I know he finger-picked a lot...using NO pick..he had to have huge calluses on his fingers. Look up another live performance and watch. He rarely, if ever used a pick.
This song will always remind me of Fort Lewis,Washington. I was stationed there when the album Rumors came out. If you've ever been in the northwest it's wet, cold, fresh, snowy and green. This song fit perfectly! One of my favorites of Fleetwood Mac.
always loved this song. the rumours album as a whole is the unltimate break up album. it got me through some pretty tough times. rock on fleetwood mac. FM 2009
I can honestly say that this is one of the only songs that I think I could hear 24 hours a day 7 days a week and not ever get tired of. It's quite simply amazing. I almost start crying (and have cried before) when I hear it. It's really that damn good.
It showed Billie deciding to leave her life of crime and live an Amish lifestyle. She'd tried to be Franks girlfriend, then Earls wife, but needed to just take care of herself. She finally found happiness.
Just like the last person who posted, Glaskruset, I heard this tune on last Thursday evening's broadcast of "My Name is Earl" and it brought back a flood of memories that I had forgotten I had. Great tune to recall happy times!
Does anybody know how to play this on the guitar??!! I saw the tutorial from the German guy, but obviously isn't the same as the original! Any people out there - answer the call, its destiny on the other end!
Your photography was so appropriate....and I take it you're a Lady Vol's basketball fan. In any case, your choice of songs, photography, and sports teams gives you a lot of credibility in my mind....Thanks again.
Hey, man, not everyone is naturaly taleneted and can pick things up as easy as you can, and he was just saying he wants to be able to play like that, give the guy a break, yeah? xxx
No... I took the pictures in the South at two different locations. The snow photos were taken at my aunt's house, when for some reason, we were getting snow. The fire photos were taken at the place I hunt when the barn finally caved in.
But perfect musicianship here from - who is on guitar - Lindsey Buckingham? And wonderful crystalline production. Good lyrics too. All in all, short and sweet as many a song by the Beatles.
Why do you have to compare them to the Beatles? They are nothing like the Beatles, the Beatles didn't even write their songs in the same artery , let alone the same vein.
I didn't compare them to the Beatles, I said that this song was as short and sweet as many a song by the Beatles. But now that you mention it, "Rumours" and "Mirage", with all their originality, inventiveness and quality, do, in my opinion, bear some comparison with the Beatles' work.
I'm 45, but I relly don't feel it. I am still "in love" with Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks and allways very happy listening "something" like "never going back again"
this is the first band i ever got into when i was about 10 or 11 rumours love it love it sooooo much still got it im 40 now and still like to hear ti thnks x
