  • My friends make fun of me because i like this music (pretty much everything in the sidebar) I make fun of them because they like this new shit. I stopped liking music after 1999

  • I remember these songs as if they were just yesterday. Great to remember how great the music of our youth was. I wish I could relive some parts of this era. Just happy to know technology has allowed us to again listen to the oldies.

  • this is the music that ment something, when love was for real, and so was the music, we will never see this again, i for one am happy that i was there to live it!!!.

  • @davidjoshjacob123 ... Exactly!! There will be no better music than what came out of the 70's!! I'm glad that I was young and in my teens back then when I could enjoy all of that great music. Love it all!!

  • E. this song still reminds how much I miss you. S. Never to be again. These songs will always connect me to the emotions that make the memories so special.

    .

  • MC Hammer rendition of this song was a great tribute to them for this incredible song. Like their song, Hammers song is also an amazing song!

  • I wonder why 91 dislike this. Its such a good song

  • I can relate to the situation of the song.

  • No offense but this is the song you play to remove the panties from your date. This song and the album cover are Smoooooth Baby!

  • This song is timeless; in 50 years it will be just as great. It's got a "No-Suck Guarantee"

My Ma raised me up listening to music like this. I remember we had this tape in the car. Brings back great memories from those times. Thanks for posting this!

  • Everytime i hear this song it reminds me of my boyfriend...He sang this in a kareoke bar, its funny because this song was way before his time, and he's an islander..He sings it so well tho, he even does all the backup singers parts...those are just some of his special qualities that make me love him. I love you Jopatrick...<3Charmaine.

  • I just noticed the random little icon that says, "I've seen her!" LOL Its little touches like that, that brighten up my day. Thanks.

  • p.s. I'm white and she's about 1/2 black and1/2 white. I liked her right off the first time we met. I asked her if I knew her before, from somewhere else. She said no. I guess she just reminded me of someone. I felt comfortable and at ease with her, right away. I liked being near her, talking to her, listening to her. But nothing could ever come of it, cuz she is in love with her now ex bf, and I'm alot older, and I expect they will get back together again soon. That's how people are.

  • Well, I just stumbled onto this song, from others, it's a good song. Right now, I'm falling in love with a gal. I just saw her Thursday afternoon and night. Just spent a little time with her, cuz she was at work. She broke up with her bf that early AM. I think he dumped her, but she didn't say. She was crying her eyes out when I saw her at night. It broke my heart. But I had to leave. I tried to comfort her. I won't see her again. She's alot younger. But I'm falling in love with her.

  • The like bar is proof that people still have faith in good music.... :)

    12-16-11

  • There must be a lot of people who, like me, were teenagers in the fall of 1971, when this song was always on the radio, and who still feel that this hauntingly beautiful song brings them back to those days more than any other song.

  • another great song by the chi-lites another song i love singing "i thought i had her in the palm of my hand"

  • @EFRENQUINONES14 "I was happy as a lark".

  • The last time I saw her was in Scotland in 1973.

  • Songs like this, you dont come by, you come by shit, wanna-be gangsters (no offense) like Lil wayne, this song is the good stuff, you actually get a feeling, rather then just hearing a song and thinking, "Cool a song..." this makes you go "Wow, thats the best song i ever heard", you actually feel for it.

  • Love this song..

Chilites look like pimps in that photo though!

  • HAV YALL SEEN HER I STILL CANT FIND HER

  • I heard this a while back and couldn't find the name! Ran into this out of no-where! Good jams.

  • Back in 91, when i was sent to Chicago for training on Veterinary blood analyzers (Northbrook, Ill), I came across this place called Chic-Ricks, and i got to see the Chi-lites play! They just happened to be performing that night! Never ever will forget that!

  • Have you seen her? Yea, she was my first love.

  • When I was in high school I had the love of my life but I was a stupid young kid and cheated on her and she couldn't forgive me, I was lost for many years, when I would hear this song I would always think of her, I went to are 50th class reunion and there she was the first class reunion I had seen her at my heart started pounding so fast I didn't know what to do, I am an old man now but she is in my arms again and I will never let her go, oh we got married to how blessed I am.

  • @dleet101 That's a Wonderful Story. Best to you in 2012.

  • @dleet101 Funny my boyfriend cheated on me recently - who knows how many times. through my higher power I have forgave him, but trust is not there. I just don't want to make the mistake of sharing what we have left in life, for who knows what tomorrow will bring. Today, you have found each other. God Bless. By the way, we are both in our late 40's

  • @sshine412 you know there is no accuse for hurting someone you love I was 17 years old and just a dumb kid but at 40 there is no accuse maybe you don't want to hear this but you should move on with your life before you get hurt again and find someone that when you look in his eyes you can tell that he loves you with all his heart. I wish you the best sunshine.

  • @dleet101 Wish I had your blessed life. My girl never came back. So"I'm lost." (Have you seen her? Tell me have you seen her?)

  • @dleet101 That is so wonderful!!!

  • @dleet101 Your story warms my heart and brings tears to my eyes. I hope I can find a love as true as yours. Bless you both.

  • @dleet101 oh my, how wonderful! I wish I could see my first love again, but he passed at a young age. I do have a wonderful husband now, but still miss James. Isnt if funny how life works out. One mistake and she was gone for all those years. Wow

  • @dleet101

My girl friend was the prom queen; and I left for the war. She played this song for me. I was over seas when I got a letter from her. After 40 years I still miss herI am happy for you bro.

  • @dleet101 Congratulations, treat her right.

  • @dleet101 That is so cute.

  • @dleet101 .may God bless those Reunions..hehe.

  • @dleet101

That is such a great story. It inspired me to think that the love that I lost under the same circumstances will one day return to my life. God bless you for sharing.

  • @dleet101 Love it.

  • 89 people have bad vision and didn't see her...Sucks for them

  • Forty years ago, I left rural Missouri and moved to Washington, DC to begin my career. When I arrived, this song was everywhere. Not only is it a wonderful song, it has the power to restore this 61 year old man to his youthful days, through memory and magic. Thanks for making sure it is available here.

  • I love this song. I always have ever since the first time hearing it wayyyyy back...

  • @LJlovestbone I liked the Hammer version too..

  • HAPPY NEW YEAR.

IF YOU NOTICE THIS and actually CHECK IT OUT then THANK YOU.

My best friend, who died, use to say, ”Mark, even if I don’t feel good, God is good”. He told me that even though he was dying, he was never happier in his life--always praising God, always talking about God with me. Only God can do that. His name was Ron Williams. I wrote a song about this entitled--GOD IS GOOD EVEN IF; Just type: mark behrens (for the search)--God bless.

  • This song reminds me when my 1st gf in high school dumped me because I was joining the army and leaving her. I use to go all over town looking for her. but, never found her. so, I found another .

  • guys this is just music it has no color it's made its written and sang for all to enjoy. I sometimes laugh at myself for I'm a 50 year old black guy that has been into Heavymetal for now over 25 years I would not listen to nothing else if I had a choice but I was brought up on soul and AM rock but when Metal came along I just feel in love withbit and never looked backward. music has no color it for you to enjoy and nothing else.

  • excelent song I was a kid when this was knew, I still have the 45 for those that remember what that is :)BG

  • @firefieldmpt ...LOL I still have my 45 too!!!

  • OK...it was unspoken and understood that if you were black and lived in Chicago, in the 70's and 80's , you better have some Chi-lites in yo' crib to put on the record player.....LOL

  • "Old School" is right. This is before Black Entertainers wanted to glare at their audiences with the "gangsta" look on instead of smiling at them.

  • I remember when I was 8 years old and every once in a while the lady next door would blast this song and every time I would put down my toys and look out the window listening to this song. It was my favorite song.

  • Somebody need to update this for real

  • Comment removed

  • The chi Lites , one of the best groups to come out of The Windy City

  • memory'z .....huh gudtimez!...

  • Childhood ;)))

  • love this music..so full of memories n lost love...you guys are irreplacible!

  • 1973-1976 were the worst years of my life. But the music from that time was so healing, in many ways.

  • these are songs that you will never hear again

  • @histyle818 .. no, you'll hear them again, but... these are the songs that will never be made again. There are no artists around nowdays who can sing like this or make songs like this. But, people need to keep on playing this type of music so that it doesn't get lost in time. The Chi-lites, The Stylistics, The Delfonics and many more ... need to be played and heard so they are never forgotten.

  • @MsBondee1958 I agree with you 100%. I play them every Sunday. Now my kids love them. They don't play music like this any more.

  • True story! I'd just asked a friend of mine 'Have you seen her?' This song pops up on the radio at exactly the same time that she turns the corner in her brand new 1972 Monte Carlo, tan vinyl top with dark brown metallic base. She had her long brown hair hanging down on a beautiful white fur coat. To this day, I believe she was the most beautiful sight that I have ever seen!! Every time I hear this song, that's what I see in my mind, Carolyn.

  • i'm young with an old soul this was when music was good music and no subliminal messages of negativity or extra garbage

  • What an absolute masterpiece!!!! Is this circa 1973 - it sure brings back memories for me.- a beautiful song!!!

  • @Whtpwr yhu stupid bitch why u talking shyt dumm kid. racist and shyt owel there black and everybody loves dem more den yhur phunk ass

  • Not trying to sound full of myself but I know I came here because I have great taste in music:D

  • Missin u

  • It's funny how an old song like this can still apply today

  • Have you seen her? I sure have'nt.. it has been 30 years and it still hurts so bad! I guess thats just the way it is in the real world. M.R.J. where are you honey?

  • @ShootnStar34 Hey pal, your not alone. Mine was 35 yrs ago, North Charleston SC. I still hurt for her . And this song does not help one bit, but I find my self still listning to it.

  • @mydogblue1 We've all been in that boat....

  • I lost the Love of my life in the 70s, this was our song, her name was Martina. Where ever u are Martina I Still Love U :) XD

  • @shanerichard1000 ........... Same thing happened to me ....BUT after 39 Years , We ran into each other and WE ARE TOGETHER ! Been almost 4 years now, Life is GOOD !

  • 86 people have never really experience true love.

  • Like if you try to sing the " Why oh why, did she have to leave & go away" part in a high pitched girlyman voice,,, lol

  • I love this song!, they don't make songs like this anymore:( oldies<3

  • Thay don't make music like this anymore!!!!! God Bless the old music that we feel in our hearts when we hear it!!!

  • @frankieperz41 damn people like you. theres plenty of good music like this today. its just not mainstream. get your head out of your ass and start looking. you gotta go find it. its not as prominent as it was in these days.

  • @gadalatabeats Instead of damning people on Xmas or telling them to get their heads out of their asses, why not tell them where they can find it? The spirit of this era of music was about brotherhood. How about showing what it means to you by helping out others?

  • @waffalo I like the way you think.

  • @frankieperz41 People wonder why young people are so misled. The lyrics in this garbage they listen to is unacceptable. We MUST tap the music and entertainment industries about this blatant psychological brainwashing. Where do you suppose our young people learn how to blow an individual's brains out?

  • @frankieperz41 real talk man

  • @frankieperz41 ...you are so right!!!!

  • @frankieperz41 God does nothing to do with this music, it's only love...

  • @frankieperz41 I couldnt agree with you more, listening to this music touches you, you get a feeling, not just some beaty noise that is called music today.

  • 86 people that disliked this will NOT seen her.

  • CLASSIC !!

Remember going to see these guys when they played in Derby's Bailey's night club in the 70's, ahhh those were the day's, real music for the soul, unlike todays trash !!.

  • just love it<3

  • Love this track.

  • You forget about the good old songs smooth

  • Im 17..thank God for Grandpop

  • Hey uncle Mike!!! lOOK!!! Look fool! The whole world knows who yall are. Dumbass.
