Some parents are unfit and some children would be better off elsewhere. We simply cannot eliminate family courts altogether as many of these protesters seem to suggest. Someone has to go after the deadbeat dads that dodge child support and someone has to keep children out of grossly dysfunctional, drug-laden, or otherwise unfit homes.

A few CPS workers are unfit but there are far more unfit parents than unfit CPS workers. The only major flaw in the CPS system is that judges are often re-elected solely based on how much money they can get pumped into their jurisdiction. More children in state care = more revenue. To attack the workers instead of the laws is to behave like a dog who barks at the stick instead of the person who threw it.

Child custody issues should be common sense. If you have set visitation and the custodial parent denies you, they should go to jail exactly the same way the non custodial parent should go to jail for failure to pay child support! There is a reason why the courts separated child support and visitation issues. One has nothing to do with the other.
