I was wondering if anyones compared the PC version to the XBOX 360 version. I just got the Xbox version and it's HORRIBLE. Jagged lines everywhere and it looks like no AA at all! All the scenery is distorted looking and it's NOT my flat screen. Same on monitor and Shift 1 looks great. Is this game better on the PC?? This really sucks. :(

After having bought this for my laptop I installed it now everytime I click on the desktop icon it asks me for the serial number to activate the game. Which I already have already entered. I have installed the ea download manager as well, and to be honest can't wait to tune a S13 for drift. But does anyone have any suggestions on what to do next???

Plus, a corner at 60 - 70Mph is pretty possible, depending on the car and the driver.

I mean, if my Mum can take a corner at 30 - 40Mph in her 2-litre diesel 206, a full race-sped R35 GTR with track-day tyres could probably do it twice as fast. ;)

Plus, unless you've actually taken an R35 around that track at those speeds, I don't see the grounds for a comment on realism.

@kilirm Its a matter of taste really. I love GT5 for collecting cars, forza 3 i like for its paintjobs and tuning. Shift 2 has fancy graphics. Neither has it all but if i were to choose personally. I would choose the DTM revival mod 1.0 for rfactor, its just pure brilliance :P

As for the ram, what do you know of its necessity, you dont even know what i use the PC for? I use 70-80% of that RAM at a daily basis.

And the graphicscard is a capable card, defentily not the best, but crap? A 6600GT by todays standard, a 5870 is among the top 6 Single GPUs in the world..

Hmmmm. Im running a HD5670 and can max out most new games.ie Crysis 2, Bulletstorm, etc. So being as the HD 5870 is a later model, i very much doubt its a "crap" card. Good vid.Gives a good demo of the game, and what to expect if your thinking of buying the game. Good work !

The realism is great, although my only concert is how willing the back end of every car is to coming out, as if the rear wheels were to slide out into a drift. All assists off, the creators of this game very accurately portrayed what it is like to race in an actual supercar; the cockpit is always moving (to a greater intensity as you reach higher speeds), and the game gives the player a GREAT sense of speed and depth (how far away an object is from you).

@KapteinFruit In shift 2, there are two cockpit views: one regular, nothing special cockpit view, and the helmet cam. The helmet cam gives the game more of a sim feel through directing the players' view towards every turn, increasing the vibration/lat & ver G effects at higher speeds (and really overall), and displaying a sexy goggle rim around the field of view!

I've got problems with my G25, it is simply too sensitive, any 1/8 turn on the weel reflects nearly 1/4 to 1/2 turn on the well in the screen, it looks I'm turning all the way both sides as if I was playing on a joypad. have you got this sort of issue? @jorgefilipefernandes no reason for it not to be, the g25/7 is the latest wheel logitech make and they both are exactly the same exept for the cog attaching the wheel to the ffb and a bigger spring in the shifter. you will have a hard time findig a race game that wont work on a g25/7 (unless you use a xbox where microsoft blocked the use of logitechs... LAME :P)

@KlosterKatt I'm not questioning your driving (in fact, I think you're doing great with the games inherent flaws). What I was referring to was the head bob (sway front when braking and sway back when accelerating, it feels very stiff and not how it is when you drive a sports car with firm suspension tuning on a track). The smoothness and transitions from a straight to a set of switchbacks is just not there...it looks very jittery and not very fluid.

Many people say GT 5 is too sterile, but driving other sim and arcade racers,GT5 seems to give the best feel of the road surface and weight transfer technicalities of driving around a track. I do track days with an E92, so my comparisons are not just to another racing game but to real life. As long as its fun, thats what matters (but sims for me are about learning drive better and faster)

I have the fanatec porshe turbo s with club sport peddles and wheel stand what would you recommend would be a good setting for degree of steering wheel etc? I know It's a little different with the g25 but what settings do you have your wheel on?

@mzjordan1103 i usually find 200-240 degrees comfortable for racing, depending on car really. As for drifting, somewhere around 300.

@mzjordan1103 I wouldnt dare touching tuning before learning the car and the physics of the game. You get Steering/Accelerating/Braking/­Clutch Deadzone & Sensetivity. Speed sensetivity seperate for Racing & Drifting. Steering degree seperate for Racing & drifting, then inverted Y axis & Inverted gearing for lefties!

I'm glad someone with an unbiased look because there are so many gt5 fanboys out there and I really feel that gt5 was a big let down especially considering that they had 6 years to make the game and it doesn't even stack up to gt4 IMO. I am up now waiting for a midnight release of shift 2 and I'm glad that they tweaked the physics. I suppose you could tune the car to have more oversteer if that's your liking. Have you tuned anything yet?

@mzjordan1103 I am not sure, the physics from the two cars i have tested so far is defentily better than Shift 2. I am a bit unused to the sliding a bit in the corner, but i imagine that is just to make you feel like your pushing the car to the limit.

GT5 i got bored of rather quickly, in terms of physics.. well i am not sure, i guess they are equal. GT5s physics has many flaws such as the easy lock-up on breaking.

But all in all, i cant say if Shift 2 will win in the long run, we will see!
