this sketch was good (though recycled from earlier SNL ideas) but the show in general was pretty consistently awful. Chevy Chase was simply not a good talk show host.

this scene was funny but his show was horrible. He was bad at doing standup, I guess something he never had dont before. I just remember him doing standup and the sweat dripping from his forehead. He started this show saying he would dethrown David Letterman. Having said that I think is the show was a litter different it might have worked. I remember something called Chevey Chase Experiment and that was good.

chevy chase is as funny as craig fergusson in my opinion, but back when he attempted late night tv, america wasn't as unwound as it is now. If he would of had a last night show today, he woulda made it with ease.

CHevy CHase stopped being funny a long long time ago...He attracts negative energies and wherever he goes he seems to create enemies...remember his snl days? That seems to be his problem...He may have gfood materials and may deliver his punchlines well, but what good it would be if many people actually don't dig you anymore because of your personality. If I am wrong, then tell me where is he now? to oblivion I guess.

Personally, I loved the Chevy Chase show and was sad to see it go. I still have the first and third episodes on tape. I thought it was funny.

I thought he had some classic moments during the run of this show. It could have been ok if they gave it a chance. I guess his infamous attitude made him a lot of enemies that were more than happy to torpedo this show.

Given the ratings, there is no way FOX could have continued with the show. Sponsors had been promised a certain number of viewers. When nobody watched, the network lost money and sponsors pulled out.
