@Lejbanaa - In 2CV racing it's desirable to 'draft' the car in front, it means you both end up going faster. So we do try and get as close as possible, often running nose to tail for many laps. Sometimes if the front driver misses a gear of scrubs a little speed this can end up with a tap (or more ... I have an example coming up!)
We also occasionally touch and push each other along, hard to judge though and you risk damaging the fan (as I did in the incident I mention) :) Thanks for watching.
@Lejbanaa To add to what Max said, when drafting, sometimes the car behind will gain more speed that the car infront, so to assist the car infront the car behind will give them a little push. It's done in NASCAR all the time at tracks such as Daytona and Talladega. It's often referred to as "Bump Drafting"
I was once again competing in a kart 24hr this weekend. Next year though, I plan to do this. Immense!
